I am writing this review as I am sitting in my room. So far this has not been a pleasant experience. I booked this room during my move to Oregon. I am taking interstate 80 a majority of the way and wanted pet friendly hotels near the interstate. The last time I stayed at a Days Inn I also had a very unpleasant experience and have not stayed in one until now.
In addition to what I am listing below I have to share my experience from earlier in the night. I am travelling across country to move with my son and was laying in bed talking to my mother on my phone when suddenly the picture hanging over the bed fell off the wall right onto my head. With such impact that it cracked the glass. In addition to shocking me, it hurt. I told my mother what had happened and hung up to go take the picture to the front desk and explain what happened. When I told the person at the front desk about this he felt like he laughed as I said it. He didn't ask if I was alright or have me fill out any sort of a report. I walked away flabbergasted. I went back to my room and then walked back out to ask him if there was any report I should fill out. He said he wouldn't know what to do until his supervisor came in at 7AM and I would need to talk to her. I am planning on leaving for an entire 12 hour day of driving and don't have time for that. I walked away, again frustrated. I decided to write a statement and give it to the employee at the front desk. He took it and said he will give it to the manager who comes in at 7. My mind is blown that a picture fell off the wall and hit a guest and absolutely nothing was done about this. I am going to send a link of this review to Days Inn Twitter (if they have one) and let them see how disappointed of a customer they have. I will never come back to Days Inn. I have never had a pleasant experience at one.
Why I am rating this place 1 star: For being pet friendly there is no area outside for you pet at all. When I asked the front desk where I should walk my dog to take care of her business he just told me to go anywhere I can. Right by the front door? I guess. I made sure to call them because I booked through Expedia and wanted to make sure they knew I was bringing a pet. I asked when I called for a first floor room which I was given. But, the room is a handicap room. The hotel is literally empty yet they put me in a room that is set up for a handicap person. The shower is a handheld shower and the tub is filled with bars to lift up yourself. I think it is great they have this option for handicap people but I am not handicap and it makes the experience even more less pleasant. To top it off as I said the hotel is empty, not like they couldn't have given me a normal room. I'm not sure if their handicap and pet friendly rooms are one in the same? No outlets available. Come on people. This is the 21st century. My son and I both have mobile devices and laptops that need power. Nothing at all except for power strips tucked behind things that are a real pain to get to. No desk or table. Nothing to set anything on. I get that this is a budget hotel but it still could have the most basic items. I see a spot in the corner of the room that looks like is should have or could have had a desk but there is nothing.
Stay away unless you can't find...
Read moreI had made a reservation for a few employees to stay at this hotel for a business event this past weekend. I had put the reservation under one of the employees names but put it on the company card; which we've never had an issue with before in the past as we travel quite often. Upon checking in, the front desk agent was extremely rude to my employees demanding to see the physical card because he thought it was a scam. My employee called me flustered to try and get everything resolved so they could head to bed since it was later in the evening. The desk agent refused to even talk to me or get my verbal authorization or a written authorization via email. He kept demanding to see the physical card the reservation was made with. Since it was my business card, my employees didn't have it and were forced to put a personal card down for the stay. I should've just told them to leave and find a different hotel because that is only where the problems began. Upon getting up to their room, once of the lamps had an electrical issue and wouldn't stop flickering until they removed the lightbulb from it. The party in the room next to theirs was extremely loud; shouting and slamming doors well into the night. When one of my employees call down to the front desk to complain about the noise, it was brushed off and nothing was done. To say their stay was ok is about as good as it gets. The reported back to me and said they would never stay here again. I tried calling the hotel to discuss these issues with the general manager, but the hotel is unreachable by phone. It just keeps ringing and ringing with no answer until it hangs up. Very disappointed my employees had such a horrible experience at a hotel that had such good reviews. Do not recommend unless you are desperate.
Edit in response to the owner: I had received videos of the lamp fixtures having electrical issues and from the noise happening in the room next to theirs. I have tried calling and emailing multiple times to the hotel with no answer or reply. Clearly the "owner" who responded to my review doesn't truly know what is happening at this property. This is the worst hotel experience my employees and I have ever had. Again, I do not recommend this facility to anyone. I would avoid at all cost. Staff is rude, as you can see in the owner's response, and the rooms are outdated. No to mention the hotel is noisy and noise complaints aren't taken seriously but just...
Read moreIt's OK service is good and a good breakfast but rooms and bathrooms are older but for me personally it's about the beds and their beds are horribly uncomfortable they are old spring mattresses that feel like they are like 50 years old felt like I would've been more comfortable sleeping on the floor or couch since I'm there to sleep most of all thinks it's kind of ridiculous they spend money on granite bathrooms and retarded things that may look appealing but add no functionality to the room so why they can't spend that money on really good beds is beyond me but it seems like it would be one of the more important things that they would think about since most people come to sleep and then go on about their business where ever they may be not sit in the bathroom and stare and the granite in their bathrooms even if the stayed in the room still more than likely sitting on the bed watching tv so either way again seems dumb they spend money on "vanity" projects and don't invest their money on the most important thing in the room which again in my opinion is the bed other than that it's is a decent hotel as far as...
