We go every summer! Rooms are nice and clean! Have tv in rooms! And have pots and things you need! Love it! Only thing we don’t like is check in is at 3 to late!! We use to get in early when room is cleaned! This year we had to wait til 3 That’s a big deal when you get there early and half to wait with little ones for a bathroom! Maybe put a bathroom down stairs for guess that get there early and spend the morning on the beach!! Love all the work that’s been done! Looks great!! See y’all next year!

I really wanted to like this place but the reason I paid more for a beachside room is because I wanted to sit on the porch and watch the ocean. The grass wasn’t cut so I couldn’t see it. Also, the fridge smelled like dead fish.

We're nice and clean but the rooms were quite small and hard to get in the rooms. Especially with any luggage in it. Pretty nice kitchen area. Easy walking distance to the beach. Nice beach as well.

Since I have family stationed in Grand Isle, LA, we decided to have Christmas 2018 in Grand Isle! We were so excited and booked a site at the State Park due to its close proximity to where our family lives. On December 1st I started having second thoughts about camping and decided to check out any local hotels on Grand Isle and found the Blue Dolphin Inn and Cottages. On their website it looked like a lovely place to stay and better yet states that pets are welcome! We have a very well mannered, potty trained little 4 lb Yorkie Pom that would be traveling with us. However, once I booked our reservation we received confirmation which stated pets are "welcome by request only" and that they are only allowed in the Cottages. I asked, via the booking website, which we were in, the Inn or the Cottages. No answer. ||||Later that same day (Dec 1st) I attempted to contact the Blue Dolphin Inn and Cottages since they never responded to my question on the booking site. My phone call was answered by a woman who rudely told me I would have to call back because she was on "the other line". On Dec 2nd, I attempted a second phone call to have my question answered and spoke with Mike. He proceeded to tell me they did not allow dogs at the Inn because of fleas the dog may have, and they would spread to the other rooms but since I had booked the "cheapest" room, he would be willing to put us in a cottage and charge me almost double for the new booking. I simply thanked him and advised I would have to check with my husband. After speaking with my husband, we decided to cancel our reservation with the Blue Dolphin Inn and Cottages due to their rude attitude and misleading rules. Please keep in mind that the Blue Dolphin Inn and Cottages immediately charged my card $82.88 for the first night of our "cheapest room" stay. ||||Since the booking site stated there was NOT a cancellation fee as long as I cancelled by Dec 7th and I had cancelled the reservation within 24 hours after it was made, I figured the "deposit" the Blue Dolphin Inn and Cottages took would quickly be refunded. WRONG!! It took one visit IN PERSON to the Blue Dolphin Inn and Cottages and two (2) phone calls in order to get our money back; oh, and did I mention it also took them 27 DAYS to refund me my deposit? ||||All in all, with their attitude and inability to process a refund without several requests, I will never stay there and encourage others to stay away as well. The property looks dingy and run down anyway, nothing like the pictures on their website!||||On a brighter side....the State Park was fabulous!! Had a ball there and the people were so very friendly! I've taken one star away from this rating due to the Blue Dolphin Inn and Resort! ||||We will be back to Grand Isle without a doubt and have...

I stayed at the Blue Dolphin Inns and Suites on Grand Isle on Friday and Saturday nights September 23 & 24. While I wasn't expecting it to be the Marriott, it wasn't quite what I was expecting.

The first thing I noticed was the smell. I was in room #9 and the smell of mildew hit me right between the eyes. I arrived at the Inn at 8:30 pm and was too tired to complain. I went to bed around 10 pm and woke up around midnight feeling nauseous. I was going to take the futon cushion out onto the porch but decided instead to open the window in my bedroom, turn the ceiling fan wide open and hope the smell would dissipate. I managed to get back to sleep. My son was in the other bedroom and he wasn't so lucky. There was NO window in his room. After the second night he sinuses were so badly infected that we had to leave early. He wound up in Urgent Care the next day with a severe sinus infection that kept him from work for 2 days.

I rented a 2 bedroom suite. This is a misrepresentation. This wasn't 2 bedrooms. This was 2 rooms with a full size bed in each one. Barely enough room to walk around. A better description for this Inn is a camp house. There were some good things about this place though. They had several BBQ pits in you wanted to cook. They also had several butane tanks, burners and pots if you wanted to boil seafood. The manager was a really nice guy. I don't think he stuck us in a room that was mold infested on purpose. The room should have been aired out prior to being rented.

I'm not going to tell anyone NOT to stay there. I'm only giving my opinion and the facts. Check out their website. If it suits your needs, just make sure you don't...

Pros: The beds were comfortable, they had two separate bedrooms and a futon in the front room. The AC worked great. They have a fish cleaning station and the beach is right there. They will rent a room for 1 night which a lot on Grand Isle will not. Cons: They called me at 8:30 pm and said if we weren't there by 9 we wouldn't get our room because they were closing. At no point when booking the room or receiving the confirmation was this ever mentioned once. We were at dinner and ended up having to get our food to go. I told them they really need to tell people that but they didn't care (he smelled so strong of weed he probably didn't remember either). Then in the morning at 9 (2 hours before checkout) the maid just barged in, no knocking, and there are no "Do Not Disturb" signs to put on the door. We also checked out on time but you have to drive down the street to get to the office so I had my family get everything ready to pack in the car and wait in the room while I did that. The owner followed me back to the room and started yelling at us for not having our stuff out. All we had to do was walk out, everything was in our hands. Also the gap in the bathroom door when it was closed was so big you could...
