Stayed there on a month to month basis until we could find a rental house. My fiance and I were paying a thousand dollars a month for a kitchenette with a freezer that had no door and didn't work and a two burner stove that took 4 hours to boil a small pan of water! Found out a week before we left that the other monthly tenants with two adults, two kids and two big dogs and and all the other monthly tenants were paying $400.00 less a month than we were. ( Assuming because they knew we worked all the time and most people there never left their rooms) The carpet in the room was old and nasty, we bought a new vacuum and filled 6 tanks of dirt and animal hair before we moved in and also had to spend $600 on flea medications bacause our dog and cat ( that never had fleas kept getting them no matter what we did) out of there and into a new house and have not had a flea on them since. The boards under our beds were so broken that one side of our bed sunk way down lower than the other and my cat got caught on one of the boards and hurt himself really bad and got an infection. My daughter's were over visiting and we were walking to my car and I looked down and seen a little baggie of meth laying on the ground and my fiance and our dog almost stepped on a used needle with no cap on it! If your not a low life or a drug addict I would NOT stay here and if you do watch out for your kids and sanitize your room before you touch or use anything. These people are a joke and should be shut down! Its more of a slummy place for people who have no place to go and can't afford a house! Ba...
Read moreWe ended up staying here when our truck broke down just outside of town. It was a holiday weekend and rooms were in short supply. We had to wait several days for a repair shop to be open so our stay here was longer than expected. Take into consideration that this is a privately owned motel at a budget price. The most impressive part of this place was the management. I am very surprised at the negative reviews that I see. Our experience was the complete opposite. They were absolutely fantastic! The owner took me to the garage where my truck was parked to pick up some items and also helped me get a part ordered to help expedite the repair. He actually bought us breakfast one day! They even gave us a discount on the room when our stay lasted an extra day. As for the room itself, it was outdated as expected and somewhat worn but clean. The linens were fresh and the towels were very clean and fluffy. The fridge/microwave was also clean. The room was a good size and the air conditioner worked well. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay where the people treat you well I would definitely...
Read moreAKA Churchill's North Country Lodge. Had minor problem locating this Hotel, GPS sent us north of the hotel. Upon arrival the check in was smooth. The lady appeared to be very nice. We selected the room with spa. The room was nice, and I slept without any problems but my wife said the power went out at about 0230 and then back on at 0530. Apparently the whole side of town when black. The room we stayed in was located in a two story building in the back. You have to walk up the stairs to get to the room. The room was large and decorated ok. The spa was nice and worth the extra $24. This is a older hotel. The room had a Flat screen tv, a small microwave and a small refrigerator. The gentleman in the morning explained that the whole town lost power and apologized. He offered us some coffee, there is no breakfast here at this hotel. I would say we slept pretty good and I would stay here again. This Hotel is about two miles...
