I’m shocked and surprised to have to open this type of review. I just had two nights at the Hilton Garden Inn Akron-Canton and I was GREATLY DISAPPOINTED. After traveling 6.5 hours and ready to fall into a nice comfortable clean bed seeing the familiar moniker of the trusted Hilton name was a welcome sight. I’d notified the facility what time I would be arriving, checked-in and activated my digital key- I was ready to rest. Because I’ve done so much recent traveling, as my 84 yr old mother and I entered the room, I knew better than to just flop in the bed. I told my mom to hold on and I went to the farthest bed first because movement on the white pillow drew my attention. Yup… BUGS! Small brown and black very sick moving bugs. I took pictures and video and my 84 yr mother and I went back down to the front desk with the pillow to show the staff. There were a bit shocked but more so couldn’t stop telling me how busy their post few days had been. There was trash in the hallway and in my room DVD they explained that by going back to how busy they were but the manager and the other staff also walked right past the trash in the hallway. But what does that have to do with the bugs that would have undoubtedly been in my hair and on my body? Nothing. They apologized and we were given a second room whichI was told was RIGHT NEXT DOOR and was given new keys. I took my 84 yr old mother up to that room and the keys didn’t work! Luckily, two staff ppl were coming out of my “fist room”, right next door, and I asked for help because the keys didn’t work. They contacted the front desk and ascertained that I was given the wrong room number. So, I took my 84 yr old mom all the way down the hallway to the correct room. I checked the beds and it appeared to be acceptable. At 11:34, I went to the bathroom and saw the SAME BUGS ON the bathroom floor and YES I took pictures and video. I was not going to wake my mom up at that hour to drag her to the front desk to be switched again. In the morning, while brushing my teeth more bugs but the window and I was completely and officially DONE. Packed up my 84yr old mama and down to the front desk we went. This is not what you expect from a Hilton Property at all. I expected them to be a step up and a cut above and they were not. I am a rewards member and that means absolutely nothing. Through it all, the front desk staff was nice and helpful. The facility was ok but the parking lot was littered with trash when we arrived. I don’t know if the water used for washing needs to be hotter or if they need to spray/ fumigate rooms between guests but BUGS at a HILTON PROPERTY is NOT ever what you expect nor want to pay for. This was not a good stay.

I checked in at 4:45 pm on a Tuesday and the parking lot had quite a few cars in it. I was greeted at the front desk right away and was quickly checked in. Besides the normal bottled water that Hilton gives its members, this location had freshly baked cookies upon arrival, which I love. My room was on the second floor near the elevator. It was a queen room, and it was nicely equipped with a TV, refrigerator, microwave, work desk, chair, coffee maker (with coffee and supplies), ice bucket, iron, and ironing board. On the bathroom vanity there was a bar of soap (ZERO/0 brand) along with a shower cap and makeup remover wipe. There was a mounted bottle of lotion and in the shower, there was mounted dispensers of body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. This room actually had two bottles of evian water on top of the refrigerator that were for sale at $5/ea. This room was of normal size and very comfortable. The AC/Heat unit worked great, and everything is good here. I am marking this hotel as one of my favorites so I can remember to stay here next time.

It is extremely rare for me to give a 4 stars or higher to a hotel — I am sufficiently critical of hotel rooms, but this Hilton Garden deserves the higher rating for several reasons. Great WiFi, clean and comfortable room, clean and comfortable bed and pillows, the HV/AC unit works very good as it turns on and off according to the room temp (it doesn’t just constantly run like some others!), hot shower, and a great staff! If I have any criticism, I had one bath towel with black hair all over it, and that is a HUGE pet peeve of mine — that should have been caught because I didn’t even have to unfold the towel to see it. Oh, and the bathroom lighting needs two options: bright and less bright instead of only a less bright options. Low lighting made it tough to see to shave and manage my contacts — I’m getting older and need more lighting, that is true, but I think anyone would have preferred better lighting. That’s it! That’s my two cents! Hope it helps you and the hotel management as well. Blessings all!

Fantastic for a business traveler, or a severely tall person, or anyone! Room features a very tall mission style desk, and a Herman Miller Mirra chair. This chair, while a little dated, is one of the finest office chairs ever made. If you sit tall (I'm 6'5), this chair will meet the height of your legs. And you will still be able to get your legs under this tall desk!||Huge bed! Comfy mattress! Separated wooden headboard means "no bedbug scares" ;-) The pillows are great (seems like a down alternative that holds up but is still soft). Couch for visitors or hanging out (no stains).||Has a tub / shower combo. Tub depth meets the floor, for easy climbing in and out. Shower head is mounted hugh enough that even a 6 foot 5 tall guy doesn't have to duck to get his head washed. Also features the extended upper curtain rail to allow to movement with the upper body.||This August is the hottest ever recorded but the A/C held up and we slept comfortably. The room was well insulated, so there was very little highway noise.||I have one minor complaint, and that is that the bathroom has no fan. So the very large mirror (nice touch) was of no use after a hot shower. On the upside, the water was immediately hot and the water pressure was immense!|| Nice outdoor courtyard with umbrellas. Accessible 1st floor lobby restroom which was very clean.||Beautiful lobby, and I am assuming the breakfast is awesome. I just ate too much and slept too late to enjoy it. Will...

This hotel is nice, But.... This was the most worst stay of my life at a hotel as far as comfort. Our bed was hard as a rock! The couch was all sunk in. I'm someone who suffers severe sacroiliac issues and need to sleep a certain way and be comfortable with my legs up to elevate them. I couldn't do that. Which is sad.. but I do give hotel staff full credit. They lended me a chair to prop my legs up on (they didn't have to but they did out of the kindness of there hearts. ) My husband struggled to sleep in the bed as well. No bounce to it or any give. Just solid hard firm mattress. That's the main downfall. Now.. the pool area goodness. That was a nightmare. Teenage kids screaming and jumping on me and others. And the parents didn't care they kept drinking alcohol ( the adults) and didn't do any thing to prevent there kids from being disrespectful also one lady in a bra/ panty set in the pool area texting not paying attention to her little kid around 1 year of age running and jumping in the water. It was sad.we couldn't spend time together or hear ourselves talk. We left the pool to try later and they was all in there partying and kids still acting wild. Just a really sad experience and we drove 2 hours away just to stay there for a night away from the house and a break from our kiddos . Just a...
