My wife and I have purchased a few pieces over the past few years. The owners son had helped us w a nice sectional and a recliner that we still have and enjoy every day. I had called in last week to check on a lift recliner for my wife's aunt, who unfortunately, has a terminal illness and she can no longer sleep comfortably on her bed or the couch. On July 4th, they went to another furniture store(Colony House was closed) and before they went in, my wife had called in to make sure that they had lift recliners available to take home that day. They assured her that they had numerous recliners for immediate take home/delivery. It's not easy for our Aunt to get around due to her condition so that was the biggest concern. Well, she did find a recliner that she loved but thry then told her that there were none available to take home. They then asked which lift recliners were available and then were told that none of them were available for take home. They were to the point that they asked if that could purchase the floor model bc our Aunt was just desperate to have something that she could comfortable sleep on. They were then told that they had to check w a regional sales manager. After a few mins, they said that the regional manager was unavailable. Needless to say, they left extremely disappointed. The next day, I called in to Colony House and spoke with Jeff. I explained the situation to him and he assured me hat they had lift recliners that were available but there may be some limited options depending on if she wanted a specific color. I explained to him that color wouldn't be an issue. I arrived a few Mina before my wife and our aunt did and i found a really nice recliner that I knew she would love. He confirmed with me that that particular model was available. When they arrived, it was a matter of minutes before she had decided on the recliner and the sale was finalized. However, we completed the sale right around 5pm and we're informed that the warehouse was closed and that I would have to pick it up the next day. Our Aunt was a bit disappointed but understood. I asked Jeff if there was any way possible that I could go to the warehouse and load it myself and he then spoke to the guys who were about to clock out and he let me know that they had to head to the warehouse to clock out anyhow and that I could meet them down there and that they would load it into my truck for us. Can't begin to explain what it means when a business goes the extra mile for a customer. Wanted to give special thanks to Colony House, Jeff, and the guys who loaded it into the truck for us. You guys will always have our business and I will always recommend Colony House...
Read moreWe moved into the Fayetteville, Pa. area last fall. We had a whole house to furnish and did not know where to go. I remember buying some furniture for my Son here years ago, so he suggested why not at least see what they have to offer as our taste is more modern. So we went into the showroom with an open mind and met Sheldon one of the owners Sons. He listened to our needs and we told him about our one dilemma as to we had no idea of how to place a sofa in our open family room. So he went over and brought his father over to further discuss it with us. We were in luck that Mark offered to come out to our home that same night and he was able to suggest a solution to our problem. We are so very happy with all of our purchases with this company and would totally recommend them to anyone who does not want someone to follow them around like you are buying a new car, however will check on you periodically to see if you need help. If they did not have what I wanted I asked them if they had any catalogs that I could look through. This is a pressure free company. We have been extremely happy with them along with the delivery team and anything that we had a problem with which has been very minimal. I just recently learned that they sell window blinds as well. I was thrilled with the aspect of dealing with them once again given their outstanding prices and above all the commitment to their customers. There prices on the blinds were less than half the price of Hunter Douglas that I received from a company in Waynesboro, and with Lafayette blinds being in business for over 60 years and made right here in the US was a plus. I was thrilled to find out this service was available to us as there are not many stores up here in the area that do this. The blinds are sold in the Gettysburg store just a short drive to meet with Kaitlin an extremely nice person who is there to help answer all of your questions. Her along with another employee came out to measure and the order was placed. We are so looking forward to receiving them. As you can see, I could write a book on this company, but feel they have made our lives so much easier and less stressful with their expertise, kindness and great communication. From the moment you walk in you feel welcome and once you get to know them, they are part of your family. So thank you all so much for making us feel...

The experience as a whole was mostly positive, but word-of-caution: go for the max warranty. One of our dogs chewed into our new sofa after less than three days, and nothing about the mid-tier warranty covered any of the damage. Asking to upgrade the coverage after 3-days was also not possible.
Needless to say, we didn't order a sofa to have a hole in the back, and worked with the service team to have it shipped back to the manufacturer for repairs (3-months). Final cost was 1/3 the original cost of the sofa.
I'll fully accept that the damage was on us and unexpected, but having no flexibility to upgrade the warranty (or help cover any of the damage with the existing warranty) after only a couple days left much to be desired.
Happy with the product, delivery team was professional, just disappointed in the warranty...
