Beware of this campground! They have 3 active websites. One of them are not up to date. We unfortunately booked our cabin from the website that was not up to date and arrived to our cabin under false pretenses. We had the expectation that ALL cookware and serving utensils were provided along with a full size fridge and no where on this 3rd site did it state that swimming would be an extra fee. In an attempt to right this wrong we went to the office and spoke with Melissa. It was decently busy so we patiently waited. We showed our receipts (from website of cabin booking and our $111 grocery trip for breakfast, lunch, and dinners for the weekend). At first Melissa told us there was nothing they could do. After stating that that won't work for us she then calls Paul to get us some kind of cookware. Wonderful. This solves our issue. Once Paul arrives with a pot, pan, a spatula, and 2 serving spoons we get in line and once more patiently wait. After all we were purchasing $50 worth of stuff from the camp store (citronella sticks, a foil pan, charcoal, firewood, fire starter, ect.) As we get to the register and lay our stuff down Melissa begins scanning our items and simultaneously berating us at the same time. Something along the lines of "Just so you guys know in the future, there is no need to come in all hot and heavy. I am more than happy to help. I would even cook your food for you. You just had to come in and pull me aside. Tell me what the issue is. You didn't need to come in here all hot and heavy, because it's just rude." At this point my friend had enough and asked Melissa if she just called us rude. She denied it.This is where Melissa just goes off. She starts accusing us of yelling and being rude. Ultimately she refused to serve us, asked us to leave the camp store and threatened to call the police. A minor young lady was also working behind the counter and stepped in asking Melissa if she should call grandma. Melissa stats "No, I've got this." To which my friend and I responded back with a "Yes, please!" We need a 3rd party involved." Melissa then looks at the 3 of us and says "Oh honey you don't want me to call her she's not as nice as I am." Actually ma'am I do. Melissa then steps out to call grandma/Lynn. Two of us exit the store as well and wait. Melissa speaks to Lynn over the phone (we personally never spoke or saw Lynn during this entire confrontation). Melissa asks the 3 of us to step aside with her (to the side of the building in the grass). She begins the conversation directly addressing our one friend with "You are their saving grace, you are the only reason I'm letting you all stay. Ect." Eventually we come to a resolution however Melissa is refusing to deal with 2 of us. So our "saving grace" friend had to deal with her to settle our purchase. During this time Melissa is telling our friend that she refuses to let us swim but since it is "saving grace" friend in the store she will let her purches our swimming. While also stating things like "You need better friends." "You should stop being friends with them after this trip, ect." Melissa goes on to tell our friend that 2 of us are not allowed back. However, Melissa never once informed the actual 2 of us, of this decision. Not that we will EVER come back to this place. Melissa also stated that this entire issue was blown out of proportion because she took an issue with us presenting our receipts at the beginning. Mind you, she originally denied being able to do anything for us in the very beginning. Upon check out, Melissa once again told our friend that she should get better friends, ect.. As a paying customer, I am appaled at the service I received from Melissa this weekend. She was unbelievably rude and entirely unprofessional! Better customer service training needs to be done.

We stayed at Hidden Paradise for two nights through the week. Arriving Tuesday afternoon and leaving Thursday morning. We booked site 74 right on the river. Our site was small but very nice. The grass was in good shape and it was fairly level. Luckily the sites to the left and right of us were not booked and I was able to maneuver the travel trailer into place easily. I can imagine that on a busy weekend getting your rig into place on the river sites could be a bit of hassle. The sites are tight and in order to park parallel with the river and have your door facing it you must pull either through the sites next to you or be a hell of driver. We had several trees on our site so we weren’t able to use our awning, but the trees offered plenty of shade so it wasn’t an issue. Water and electric were very close. I only used one 25ft lol water hose and 30amp electric cord. You share a water supply with the site next to you. So if you book an odd number site on the river be prepared to have a little bit longer run of water hose and electric cord. The campground it’s self is very large and they have several sites, and several seasonal sites. Some of the sites are well spaced out and large while others are a little cramped. The river is very nice. It’s not a large river and I would classify it more as a large creek. You could easily walk it if you like. I think most people tube down it. It seemed clean and we saw several fish. We utilized the walking trails around the campground and saw some scenic views of rock cliffs and small ponds. The campground has two shower/bathroom houses, both are located right next to each other in the center of the campground. From some of the sites the walk to the bath house could be a tad far. One of the bath houses is older but appeared to be well maintained and clean. The other seemed newer or freshly renovated. It offered private shower rooms with a restroom and sink inside. The showers were very large and spacious and had ice cold a/c. This shower house was also very clean and well maintained. The camp store had everything you could need and then some. The playground was nice and during our stay they were doing updates to it. The quarry was clean and clear. There’s no beach area so don’t get the idea that you’ll be hanging out lake side in your beach chair enjoying a beverage. It’s all docks and floating obstacles. Perfect for the kids. You do have to pay extra for lake access, but if you’re camping it’s reasonable. They have a newer dump station with dual access in the rear of the campground as well as an older dump station along the exit road. The campground also had decent WiFi that I was able to use to stream movies. This could be due to us being the only occupants at the campground at the time. I’m assuming performance drops when the campground is full. Bottom line we booked this campground to stay along the river and just relax, and it didn’t disappoint. I will say that if you have smaller children that require closer attention you may want to look elsewhere just due to how the quarry is set up and not having an actual beach. If your kids are older and you can let them roam around and do their things while you chill at the campsite then Hidden Paradise is perfect. I imagine that this place fills up on the weekends, especially during the summer. The sites are tight and I could see maneuverability being difficult if the campground is crowded, just something to think about. We enjoyed our time and I do think we would return.

This place was perfect! The reservation lady was super friendly. I forgot to buy firewood when i checked in and got her attention as she was leaving and she told me to just take some and swing back by another time to pay. So nice to trust and be trusted! (I kept my word and was back by the next day). We didn’t swim in the lake but we took advantage of the river to swim and my dog had a blast. There was a huge fireworks show on Saturday night (the weekend before the 4th of July) that was amazing! We encountered such nice people! The site was level and shaded. Lots of trailers pulled in parallel to the hookups which I have never seen before. Unfortunately we could not because our power cord was not long enough to reach. I highly recommend this place and wish we lived closer so we could visit more often!

I am trying to be very fair in my review and not attacking of anyone. I have been wanting to come here for many years. I made sure to book many months in advance and thought I researched pretty well. The check in was great. We got there after the posted time of the camp store closing at about 6:22. 6 is when they said the camp store closed but it was thankfully still open as the cabin I rented was not keyless check in. No qualms there. It was kinda cool to have an actual key to use. The Hide-Away cabin is where we stayed and it was very good for three people. The issue we had was that the website I checked said there were cooking utensils and things for eating but all the drawers and cabinets were empty. We were planning to cook every meal so that was a bit of a let down for us. My car was packed with our things and I could not have fit anything else even if I had not trusted the website. We made do the first night though since I'm sure the camp store was closed by the time we got our things situated. The real problem started the next day when we went to talk to the staff at the store about the website listing and there not being anything there for us to use to cook. I was not up at the counter when a friend went to talk to Melissa about it but I don't remember hearing raised voices or anything as I was just over in the next room trying to make sure we would have everything to get our cooking done. There was some back and forth but after waiting awhile, someone did bring us utensils and some pots. We had everything else we wanted to buy and waited in line for our turn and everything was going well. I'm not sure when it started but some back and forth happened again when Melissa let my friends know that she didn't appreciate their approach to her in their complaints. Again, I do not remember there being any raised voices or overt rudeness and she did say that happened. Honestly, I've been in customer service for many years and have never seen someone say that when trying to make false advertisement right in the customer's eyes. We felt lied to and I've always been taught to just apologize and do what you can to make a customer happy and deescalate the situation. I should have read more reviews to know that swimming wasn't included and the issue was not buying the wristbands but I think I would have remembered to note when booking that swimming was additional. I also fell on the slick dock and have a pretty sizeable bruise on my thigh. What is comes down to though is this seemed like a family run business and they would have had us forcibly removed had I not stepped in and deescalated the situation. I was just happy to be able to save what we could of the weekend. My friend was so upset after the second camp store interaction that she cried a ton. I've never been in that situation and I'm not playing the victim when I say that it didn't need to get that blown out...
