The staff here are disgustingly rude, even the manager. Trey and others that work the day shift were very rude starting the first night I checked in. The only people that had great customer service and professionalism was the two guys that worked the night shift. ( I saw this in another review which confirmed everything for me.) I switched rooms to a bottom floor and it was full of roaches. I usually clean the room first with disinfectant so I didn’t have issues with them until it was close to my checkout date. The night before checkout, there was a huge water bug in the room that scared the mess out of my daughter, and I had to get a staff to come get it off the ceiling at 3 o’clock in the morning. The only thing I was given for this was an hour checkout extension some free drinks and snacks! I wanted my money back and she said I couldn’t get it because I paid on Priceline. When we woke up to check out, there was a roach crawling on the bed comforter while me and my daughter was in it! There was a few times I saw them on the kitchen counter, wall, even the tub in the bathroom. It was absolutely disgusting… They have a rule that you have to be there a week in order to get room service. I was there a couple of weeks and was told that I could not get room service. They refuse to give you that with the amount of money you pay to stay there. You have to take your dirty linens in a basket to the front desk to swap out towels. Anything else you need, you have to ask them for it. The hallways are very hot and muggy smelling of mildew and mold. My daughter also pointed out roaches crawling in the hallway! You have to take your own trash out to the garbage cans on each end of the hallways. On the 21st, a girl working the early morning shift, yelled at me when I asked for room service, that I was told I can get by 2 staff the night before. I had to tell her about the roaches to get the room vacuumed and nothing else. I mean, she really pissed me off that morning, right before my daughter’s birthday celebration. I had to yell back to show her how rude she sounds. The whole damn dayshift staff pissed me off the whole damn stay pretty much, but because the other hotel prices are outrageous, I stayed here. Another thing, I noticed when I would come out of my room, Trey would jump out of his chair at the front desk to be closer to the door. I don’t know what that was about, but it gives me vibes that they have access to listen in your room. There’s something that looks like an intercom, on the ceiling, above the bed in each room. I could be wrong about this, but that’s what it seemed like. Like I said, the staff in the daytime have some serious attitude problems that...
Read moreSpent two weeks here while moving to the area for a new job.
First, the good: Overall the hotel is well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms feature a full-size fridge, a kitchenette complete with garbage disposal (rare) and dishwasher. Everything worked properly in my room except the ice maker inside the fridge.
The beds are comfortable and have both "firm" and "soft" pillows. Slept great. Even the bedside lamp contains two bulbs, one cool white for during the day, one 2700k for during the evenings. Very large desk with lots of space. The rooms are great overall.
Location is perfect. Right at the intersection of the bypass and 587.
The other residents of the hotel that I personally interacted with/observed were courteous and friendly. No issues.
Laundry is free - awesome.
The bad: Fundamentally this hotel building is old and not up to modern standards. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything above/next to you and down the hall. I didn't have any trouble sleeping on the average night, but in the evenings when people get home from work, it's flat-out noisy.
The water pressure ranges from mediocre to abysmal. The hotel needs additional booster pumps and/or higher pressure/capacity booster pumps. There simply isn't sufficient water pressure on the average day.
There is a wall-mounted thermostat but it doesn't do anything. You have to manually adjust the temperature on the unit using ye olde hot/cold knob. Minor.
Room service is only once per week and I had trouble even getting my one time done. They skipped me and I settled for at least getting new towels and having the trash taken out.
One of the three clothes washers and one of the four dryers were "out of service" for my entire two week stay - this tells me the hotel does not intend to fix them and is a bit cheap.
Overall I don't feel this hotel is a good value for the money as an extended stay. You are better off renting monthly through AirBNB or another temporary solution.
All that said, I would stay here again for up to a week...
Read moreMy experience was awful with this Candlewood Suites in Greenville. First I would like to mention. I called the hotel the day prior to my arrival that I would have a late check in. As I was traveling I noticed that my card was being charged and I have not arrived to the hotel. I immediately called and the office manager advised this was standard protocol. I have never experienced this protocol in no other candlewood suites and frequent them often for work. Upon my arrival to the hotel I recognized the voice of the gentleman that answered the call. He asked for my ID and proceeded with getting me setup for my stay. I was given my room key to the room assigned, as I get upstairs to my room the door was unlocked and the room was completely dark and their was no TV in the room only the bracket on the wall. I immediately was uncomfortable since the door was open I didn't want to stay there. I go back downstairs to the lobby and tell the office manager about the room. He tells me that they ate in the process of upgrading all the TV with smart TV's. The office manager tells to wait and he will be right back. I assumed he went to look at the room to verify what I told him. After waiting about 10 minutes I have decided that I know longer wanted to stay at this hotel and he kindly refunded me my funds. This hotel needs work, it should smell nice when you walk in and I wasn't sure if this location is used as a rescue hotel. I was extremely disappointed upon arrival and wouldn't recommend anyone to book at...
