We stayed at the Inn April 19-21st for my birthday weekend and our anniversary of getting engaged. We had a simply wonderful experience! Chef Marti and Chef Stormy were more than hospitable and their daughter is just adorable...a future chef in the making! We were greeted by Chef Stormy who took us on a tour of the home and gave us many restaurant options in the area and surround areas. We went to Ni Fen one of their recommendations and the food was awesome! It was a short 10 mile about 20 minute ride away. Our room the Nature and Earth room was very spacious and we had homemade Jordanian Baklava waiting for us on arrival. Even though the entire house was full of guests we didn't hear anyone all night we slept so well! My husband and I normally skip breakfasts at hotels but after traveling and living abroad we have learned that while staying at a B&B this is a no no and surely a missed experience! This was without a doubt the most amazing homemade gourmet breakfast we have ever received at a B&B. We felt like we were being served at the White house with Sous Chef Kim and Chef Stormy personally waiting on us all hand and foot. The table was decorated with lots of fun things to look at while dining. We had an amazing homemade Strata that was very filling and had a fresh from their garden Rosemary Tomato Salsa to go on top of it. We had parm grits....so good, I do not even like grits! The fresh coffee and juices were wonderful! We had fresh fruit and lots of bacon. Very filling so much so we didn't even eat lunch that day! After breakfast we were taken by Chef Marti on a tour of the White House Museum filled with many many stories, memorabilia and collectibles. After we went to a recommended Winery Baker Buffalo Creek, we were taken on a private tour and then a wagon ride through the vineyards with a wine tasting on the wagon! It was soo fun!! After we attended the Culinary Cooking class by Chef Marti and Chef Stormy. It was fabulous! We learned so much and had a great hands on experience. We were there with another group from Chicago and a wonderful young couple like ourselves. We all ate the meal after we prepared it, so fantastic! That evening we sat outside on the adorable patio under lights and the stars and lit the fire that they had for outside, there were blankets on the chairs that were very comfy. We had a relaxing evening in and couldn't have been happier, we talked to a couple who had wished after seeing us in the class they had taken it but instead they were having in room massages done through the spa! Before experiencing the breakfast that morning I had said to my husband perhaps we will just take a packed breakfast which they offered so that we could sleep in past 9...we have two small kids so that never happens lol...anyways after the amazing experience that morning for breakfast we knew we wouldn't pass it up the morning we were checking out! Once again we were not let down with sausage, greek yogurt, homemade ketsup and syrups, homemade pancakes and a homemade oatmeal with fruits, super good! We shopped in the gift shop using our in room 25% off coupon and bought lots of items we had used in the cooking class. We would highly recommend this Inn to anyone and we will return! As member of the military ourselves we exchanged coins with Chef Marti and were honored when he proudly added our coin right then to his cabinet of memorabilia and collections. Thank you again for a...
Read moreOne needs only to peruse the reviews on yelp and other sites about this place to see what’s up. But don’t take my word for it. People have complained about everything from “ Chef “ Marti’s long winded tours that begin right at the breakfast table , to the fact that WALTER SCHEIB ( NOT MARTI ) was in fact the Clinton administrations executive chef. Complaining also of dirty rooms and FAR too much random “ memorabilia “ for anything to be cleaned properly .I’ve also seen firsthand how staff are treated ( belittled ) one guest claimed that marti told him to learn to read English ( when he asked about rescheduling his visit due to his wife undergoing cancer treatment ) and another guest was forced to pay out of pocket for a chair that was already not in great shape and happened to break when the guest was using it. One can also drop in over to Zillow to see that this one star establishment is up for sale by Keller Williams realty. One wonders if the bad reviews and the fact that Grover is literally a one street no horse town with no attractions ( although marti will direct you to a winery and a restaurant , both of which he has financial investment in ) have finally shown marti that if he were a true businessman with any business in such establishments that he would in fact have a much better location than in this nowhere town with nothing to do
Here’s a super fun fact. When marti doesn’t like what you have to say , or if he perceives that he will lose an argument , he will bombard you with texts telling you to “ fight him live , on Facebook video , and that if you won’t fight him on Facebook live , you should still start a live feed for the sole purpose of killing yourself to show the world that you know your life has no purpose and it “ sucks to be you “
Anyone who wishes to see this no stars “chef “ and his five star vanity tantrum can feel free to message me As I’ll be happy to show you ALL the screen shots of a 50 something alleged White House superstar belittling a terminally ill woman like the classic gaslighting narcissistic personality he is.
Oh and hey , if you do decide to stay here anyhow ( and believe you me. I hope you don’t ) Please ask the family what they did with the service animal that their son stole from me. As there are several dozens of people trying to locate and bring...
Read moreMy husband and I have stayed at several B & B's over the years and I have to say the Inn of the Patriots is the most unique. ||When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Chef Marti who made us feel right at home. Delicious, homemade cupcakes, white chocolate bark, oatmeal raisin cookies, and other goodies awaited guests as they arrived. With all those gracious offerings, I didn't mind so much paying the $2 for the apple cider from the Keurig.||The hospitality and the breakfast were excellent! Pumpkin pancakes with a cream cheese sauce and another homemade peach sauce were phenomenal and Chef Marti kept hot pancakes coming as long as the guests wanted them. Also, there was fruit, muesli, grits, sausage, and potatoes with homemade ketchup. All of it was superb! ||After breakfast, Marti shared some history of the area and took us to view a glass cabinet containing his English royalty collection, then his Jaquelyn Kennedy Onnasis collection, and finally the new Trump items he just received. Each collection was contained in a small- or medium-sized curio cabinet. It may seem out of place to see plastic food items in the cases, but you are at a culinary museum! These items prompt interesting stories from Marti.||We stayed in the quirky, but super clean, Polynesian room. If you've read any of the reviews, it's a bit odd of a layout for a "bathroom" but you'll have a new story to tell. How many of your friends can say they've actually taken a shower in a closet? :) Consider it an adventure! ||Another unique quality about the inn is the eclectic mix of decorative items in the rooms. I believe another inn is needed so they can spread out their collections. There were no thick bathrobes in this room, but there were beautiful, thick towels and the bed had super soft sheets. The room was immaculately clean as was the rest of the inn. ||One important thing to note is that the historic tours vary daily. You may, or may not, hear or see what you were hoping to, so be sure to ask prior to booking. However, you'll still find the extent of Marti's knowledge (and his various accents) fascinating, no matter which tour you receive. Plus, visitors are welcome to browse around and read about the other cabinet displays which may not have been covered in their tour or schedule...
