Campground was ok, owner/operator was awful. Our group organizer had previously made arrangements and reservations for $25/night per adult and kids were free with Barbara. Posted signage stated $45/night for campsite, $55 for beach setup, and $60 for electricity. Nothing in the Email or posted about extra people or vehicles up charge. Barbara took advantage of my 80 year old father and decided to charge him $150 for us to camp 1 night because the person who organized this was gone on a hike. She would wait until the organizer was gone then make rounds to collect from the campers so she didn’t have to follow her own agreement for the cost. When my father questioned it and said he needed to wait to talk to the organizer she yelled at him called him stupid, said she’s the only one that takes payment here and she’s the owner and knows the prices. He said he would pay later. The next morning around 8:30 she was at our campsite again demanding the $150 per night, asking how many nights we would be there. At this point my dad had confirmed it was only $25 per night per adult per the email but she was relentless and insisted it was $150/ per night. My dad reluctantly paid the $150 in cash after 10 minutes of her arguing with him and telling him that the organizer doesn’t set the rates she does and that he must be stupid if he didn’t confirm before coming up to camp the rates first, he did confirm with the organizer and was prepared to stay 3 nights based on the agreement she made for the group. He said that we will be packing up to leave because $150/ night for 2 adults and 4 kids is too expensive for 1 small tent campsite. We began packing, I had my dad ask for a reciept. Barbara refused to give him a reciept, told him if he wanted one he could write it up and she would sing it. We took a picture of the door with the nightly rates as well as the hand written receipt that she altered with no posting of any additional charges. We wrote a reciept for the $150/night charged and she added to it stating she corrected it. Even with the alterations she made to the receipt it doesn’t add up to $150 a night to setup 1 tent at 1 campsite with 2 vehicles. Not even beach access or electric. We were told we had to be out by 12. At 10 she came back to our camp and was snooping around my vehicle, walking through the campsite while we were rolling up the tent and deflating the mattresses, picking up pieces of bark and complaining about trash telling us to make sure that we don’t leave anything and to put the table back where it was. She picked up my sons nurf bullets and threw them away 2 hours before we were supposed to leave, we always leave our sites cleaner than we found them, I have 2 Girl Scouts and a boys scout in my group of kids they have morals. We were still packing, he was still playing. She just wanted to pick a fight and take advantage of an elderly man trying to enjoy his last ever camp out with his grandkids. Side note, this group has been camping together annually for decades, my dad used to take me to these group camp outs 30 years ago, they have been at this location for about 10 years now. My dad amost died 2 months ago and he really wanted to go to this group camp out one last time. She ruined it for him and us by being so nasty. I am rallying with the group organizer to change to a different location for future group events. I would suggest anyone who wants a relaxing beach camp out go elsewhere, she will be up in your business snooping through your things while your hiking and swimming and walking through your site while you visit with friends. Below is the door sign with rates. I did not get the email with the agreement yet but I will try so I can add the agreed prices as well as a copy of the handwritten receipt that she altered which is still incorrect.

We went the last weekend in September and the temperature was perfect! We arrived in the morning and it was foggy/hazy and by the time we had set up our tent, it had all burned off and was an absolutely beautiful day! We had the campsite in the corner of the drive down to the beach, called the "waterfall campsite". Its more like a stream that runs behind it and it was nice and tree filled. No picnic table, but there was a fire pit and we enjoyed the spot and the close proximity to the beach without being too close (I had young children with me). They would love to go again! The shells on the beach were a bonus and we enjoyed watching the kayaks go out in the early hours to go fishing.

I used to come to this cool boat launch and camp location when I was younger, abalone and scuba diving with my family. (about 35+ yrs ago) Once I had my own family I would return to make use of the Sea Ranch rentals or sometimes just come out alone for a drive to get away from the city and everyone in it. I hadn't been back for at least 18 years (I moved to Florida) Returning was even better than I thought!! Brenda, Proprietor and manager was as hospitable and accommodating as her dear father was. The cove serenity and the views are natural California coast, pacific ocean purity. Tent spots are always in demand so book early and say Hi to Brenda!!!

The worst experience I've ever had at a camp site. The host Brenda is the most rudest person I have ever encountered. We booked 6 sites and ended up with 4 because she over booked. Brenda kept on coming over and complaining about everything under the sun. Granted we had kids and they can get a bit messy but we explained to her that we will clean it up like we always do but she was not understanding. I typically don't complain but this experience has left me extremely angry at the way my family was treated. From the constant interruptions from her complaints to the misleading information about her campsites, this person should not be in business. Our sites were literally 10 feet away from the highway. We where promised a secluded meadow camp site and got a highway side walk with a Cal-Tran station across the 2 lane highway. The site had no barriers from the cliff on our site. DANGEROUS! Especially for families with kids. The host (Brenda) was trash, the sites were trash, the whole experience was trash! Worst camping trip I have...

Brenda was friendly on the phone and wanted me to use PayPal. She asked that I list it as Family/Friends and in the comments put food. That's a red flag! When we arrived, she wasn'tas friendly and we found 7 tent sites crammed together and our tent took up the whole space. More people were arriving the next day and we weren't interested in being within inches of other strangers. We paid for 3 days and the morning of day one, Brenda told my husband that check out was noon that day and we had to park our vehicle out by the road. She only remembered that we paid 3 days when I arrived to conversation. This is nor a boat landing (no launch) or campsite and the hot showers are coin operated. If you want to launch a kayak, you have to pay for that as well. We moved to Ocean Cove the next morning and had a blast at a fantastic campsite there for the remaining 2 days of our trip! We won't return here, but we will...
