We have stayed at many bed and breakfast homes over the past 30 years and Green River Bridge House is at the top of our list. We visited October 14-17, 2016 for a birthday celebration. The owner, Joan Seymour, was a wonderful, gracious hostess and she made us feel like we were at home. Every breakfast was unique and delicious. Joan did a painstaking, full restoration of the home to maintain the original & historic character of the house and grounds. The property is located on the Green River next to a restored, covered bridge. The home is cozy and inviting and each bedroom has a bathroom. We stayed in the Sunrise Room with a private deck and spectacular view of the garden, lawn and the Green River. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. There is a kitchenette in the hall with a fridge, coffee maker and microwave. This property is secluded but close to many small towns and attractions in Vermont, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The fall foliage was spectacular set against the clear blue sky and the crisp, fresh air. A perfect get-away to clear the mind and enlighten the soul. Thank you, Joan for your hospitality and detail to attention. David & Angela Chianco Palm...

We were really taken aback by the beautiful decor, the scenic view and the amazing location. As the name suggests, the house is next to the Green River. Right in front of the house is a covered bridge and a dam. Next to the house is a beautiful creek that you easily access from the back of the house, if you are interested in fishing. The inside of the house is decorated with artifacts from all over the world. Be sure to ask the owner how she acquired them, as she has interesting stories to tell about each. The best part of staying in the house is the morning breakfasts. The food is home cooked and menu for the breakfast is different everyday. Needless to say, the breakfasts are hearty and delicious! We stayed in the Sunrise room, that had a balcony and a jacuzzi. The room offers a beautiful view of the morning sunrise, and the hills, the creek and the lawn. I highly recommend staying here as it offers a relatively quick getaway from Boston and has the perfect atmosphere to rest, relax...
Β Β Β Read moreI had the best experience at the Green River Bridge House! My mom and I had travelled up to Vermont from Virginia and didn't have any hotel reservations. Once we arrived in Brattleboro there were absolutely no rooms available! We started called every hotel and Bed and Breakfast we could find online with a lot of help from Loretta the owner of Boomerang (a vintage clothes store you should check out if you come up). Joan had just had a cancellation at the Bridge House and had room for us! She was so sweet and accommodating and a joy to talk to. She has worked wonders with the house and it's gorgeous land. Right next to an original covered bridge, I had a true New England/Vermont experience. The entire house, the bedrooms, the bathrooms, everything was comfortable and beautifully decorated. I felt like I was at home! And the breakfast in the morning was delicious! If you're in Vermont, give Joan a call or make a reservation online and spend a night or two at the Green River Bridge House, you will have an...
