The location was ideal. Our king one bedroom suite was ok. My husband travels full-time for work and we have stayed in a lot of different types of accommodations and this was the worst experience as far as comfort, expectations and service go. We came as a vacation with our children and not for work. Our room had ants all over the kitchen. We live in Alabama and this is no big deal to us. We contacted maintenance and asked them to spray. They said when we leave they would. So we let them know we were leaving and stayed gone the whole day. They never came and sprayed so we were unable to use the kitchen counter. The pull out sofa had no linens but my daughters were able to get some sheets from the front desk. Housekeeping only came and cleaned once during our stay and did not replenish any of the essentials from the toilet paper, trash removal, trash bags, towels, removing of dirty towels, dishwasher detergent, coffee. We had visited the beach so naturally when we went to take showers we got sand on the floor. I had to use a towel to "sweep" the sand to the corner of the bathroom since our room remained unattended to for the remainder of the days of our stay. My husband asked the front desk to please have housekeeping attend to our room and they never did, no vacuuming or beds being made or trash taken out. My husband went to the front desk several times to get what was needed, trash bags, towels, dishwasher detergent, coffee, toilet paper and even had to bring several days of garbage outside to the dumpster himself. We paid an average of $300/night to stay here and def expected a better, more comfortable stay. On the plus side, laundry machines were free.

We typically enjoy staying at IHG properties, but unfortunately, this particular location did not meet our expectations. Most concerning was the presence of a live roach in our room—clearly visible and captured in a photo. While it stayed still long enough for the picture, the fact that it was moving around beforehand was unsettling. Service was mixed. Upon arrival, the staff was reasonably courteous, but checkout was impersonal—when I handed in the keys, the front desk agent didn’t speak, only giving a slight head shake when I asked if anything else was needed. As an IHG Platinum member, I was surprised to learn that the latest checkout time allowed was 12 PM, rather than the usual 2 PM. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, and the water pressure was good with very hot water available. However, the pillows lacked support, the TV was small and didn’t function properly, and the Wi-Fi was so slow it was nearly unusable. Breakfast was average; I was disappointed not to see the egg white omelets typically offered at other IHG locations. We also ran out of lotion during our stay, which has never happened to me at a hotel before. Overall, despite some redeeming qualities, I would not choose to stay at this property again.

I had an excellent stay! A lot of the other guests I met were regulars, and I can see why. I stayed in a two-bedroom suite and it was way more spacious than I expected. The food and amenities were basic, but we came mainly for the convenient location and spent most of our days out anyway. Everything was clean, our floor was nice and quiet at night, and the beds were super comfortable. I often have trouble sleeping at hotels, but slept wonderfully here. The staff we interacted with were great. When I needed housekeeping services and called the front desk, someone arrived at my room right away. There weren’t a lot of vegan options on my first day at the buffet, which was fine because I was staying in a suite with a kitchen and fully expected to do my own cooking. But when a staff member found out I was vegan, she made sure the kitchen served more veg-friendly options for the duration of my visit. She said one of her kids was vegan too, so she knew what it was like travelling with dietary restrictions and kindly went out of her way to accommodate me. Grateful for such warm and friendly service!

I’m a member of IHG and I’m HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! I would give them a zero in rating but that’s not an options. I’m a very reasonable women also patient but this place hit a nerve EVERYDAY! Our stay there was for business and leisure as we were there for a dance competition.

Starting with checkin..My friend/family arrive at 11am for check in and called for an early check as they said there room will be ready. WELL IT WASNT! They didn’t get there room till after 3pm. 🙆🏽‍♀️

Next, my room smelled like mildew, & come to find out that the filter was not replaced and you can see the dusky blue air filter from the wall. 😤

Also, the tub was clogged! 😡While taking a shower I was wondering why the water would not recede. With my family of 4 the dirty water stayed in the tub after each shower. It took almost 10-15 for the water to drain out so you can imagine what is stuck in the pipes in order for the water to go out.

Next, The floor carpet was filthy and had to be forever since they REALLY cleaned it. I say this because when my son took his shoes off the bottom of his feet was black. 🥴😵‍💫 On top of that the living TV stopped working. But again since we were in and out the whole week we didn’t sweat it, however that doesn’t excuse the issue.

Next, my key stopped working and I had to got to the front desk 3 times to fix it in order to get in my room. 😡

After that, while heading back to my room, I seen roaches by the elevator 🙆🏽‍♀️🙄

LAST, to top of off while staying for almost a week for my daughter dance competition, we were in and out frequently. We got 4 calls, even two on a same night for a complaint of us making a lot of noise. Allow me to add that I have an autistic son that sometimes do a little more than usual. After the 1st complaint I politely went to the front desk after they called us to inform them that we have an autistic son so we apologize for the noise as we continue to redirect him. HOWEVER he can’t help it so please let the guest know this. Not even 2 hours later we get a call 2:00am in the from the front desk of noise complaint. At that point I said to them that I already came down to explain to the other rep before the shift changed what is the case. The front desk then tells me we will still need to be quiet because the guest have a tournament in the morning. Now I truly understand the courtesy of this, unfortunately me weren’t that loud AT ALL. At that moment AS A GUEST I felt the disregarding of our stay as we pay the same money as everyone else to stay at the hotel to be harassed by the front desk from another guest concerns or issues. Shouldn’t it be a limit on calls of complaints especially if you called already??? Shouldn't each guest get equal respect???

This hotels allows dogs, which I’m a DOG LOVER , however we all know that bringing a dog to a hotel, you can expect it will be a lot of barking. But no one complains about that though…

Lastly to add , our hallway smelled like dog pee! I’m absolutely disturb and disappointed 😔 I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS...

This property is terrible. Guest rooms in a state of disrepair. Not as advertised. The a/c units in several of the rooms are not working. There are no maintenance people available to fix the a/c units that are not cooling and/or are making horribly loud noises when running. Plus, I saw the non-functioning a/c unit in my first room when the closet was unlocked by the front desk staff member, and it was in terrible condition - incredibly old with several wires rigged through the front of the unit. It did not appear safe and, after viewing its condition, I was not surprised it was not working properly.

Because of the noise and the heat, my son and I were forced to pack up our room in the middle of the night, and we were moved to a second room. However, that room also had a non-working a/c unit. The third room we were moved to was finally cool, but the a/c unit was so loud and the smell was so unbearable that it was also uninhabitable. We were then shown 2 available rooms on the first floor. Both also smelled but bc as it was after 11:30 pm, we picked the room that smelled the least unpleasant and at least had an a/c unit that was working.

I have also since found out that another member of our baseball team who stayed at this property also had a non-functioning a/c unit in their room.

The cleanliness in the guest rooms is lacking and, as a result, there is an incredibly unpleasant odor in several of the guest rooms. Plus, in the second room we were shown, there were chunks of the a/c closet door missing at the top and a piece broken out of the side table in the living area.

The staff has no interest in addressing the issues with the property. Plus, after being ignored by the on site manager, I contacted IHG’s guest relations team only to have the upper management team also avoid contacting me to address the numerous issues with my stay.

You should avoid this property. The price you are paying is completely inappropriate for a property in this state of disrepair. Avoid at all costs. They clearly put a little money into redoing the common space downstairs to make it look refurbished but did little to nothing to the guest rooms. The definition of putting a little...

We had very high hopes for our stay, here at Staybridge Inn and Suites. We checked into the room on the third floor and immediately realized that the closet in the bedroom, that led to the full AC unit, was unlocked and swung open/shut without closing. We put our suit cases and laundry hampers there in hopes of keeping the kiddos away from the closet. The next day, the floor in the bedroom coming from the closet was absolutely soaked, including our bags and laundry. When my husband went to speak with them he had to ask for compensation for our belongs, only to be offered points for a future stay....and then they said someone would come look at it. The next morning when nothing had yet been done, I went down and spoke with a nice woman named Julia who I felt helped me more than anyone had. She gave me laundry detergent to help with our laundry, then some money off the next two nights we are here (though I did have to directly ask for the compensation). A maintenance man assured us it would be taken care of, but we came back to still a soaking wet floor...no fans, no lock on the door, no assurance that it is now fixed. On top of this, my kids and I were sitting and watching a movie on the couch...SITTING...when we hear kiddos running and jumping above us. It’s a family friendly vacation weekend and I totally get it, so we just ignored it. I hear banging from underneath us, I get a phone call.. it’s the front desk. I’m told there’s now a noise complaint on OUR room. I assured her it had to be for the room above us because we were watching a movie, but was told that there is no way they could hear that room..and then told that they would keep a note if this complaint on us.

To say that I am disappointed in the hotel would be an understatement. We have smelled marijuana in the stairwells, chose this hotel based on the fact that they advertise a continental breakfast but that is not something they are doing now (and there was no notification/communication about that), and the pool is very underwhelming compared to pictures online. We will not be staying with IHB again...
