Ok. So now. I'm not so happy with this place. The lady with short hair. Yeah. She's going to NOW give me a problem because of my 2 ADA registered service animals. After my 1st night stay. I'm told people are complaining about them barking. 2 old men who checked in about 6pm complained. When I went 3 minutes in each direction to pick up food. For dinner. This VERY VERY RUDE lady with short hair that obviously HATES her job tried asking me for their AKC registration. Acting as if she's smart. Obviously not too smart. Americans with Disabilities Act clearly stats you cannot ask a person of their disability. Period. There's no LAW as she stated that says AKC is ADA service animals. Had she truly been educated she would know to know her place. After that. Yeah. I'll think twice a out renting another night if she's still around. Nobody else had a problem until SHE got to work. Then tells me I cannot go into the pool. Unless I lock my dogs in the truck just UNREAL
To some up in one word. SPECTACULAR. I drive a hotshot (long haul trucking with my own personal pickup truck). And for the price location and service the Alpine Inn is well worth it. Cheaper than most the other places in town by 20-100 dollars. It's very very quiet. Same breakfast as the Hampton Inn (usually my choice place to stay across the country). Not much for scenery. But in this town everything is 5 minutes away. Close to the laundromat close to bars and restaurants. Close to Walmart. Plenty close enough to tons of different outdoor activities. Complete unexpected find. Rooms are clean and cozy. Hot tube is hot the pool is refreshing the staff is friendly. Now. It's NOT a 4diamond hotel (which I don't even know what that means. Every hotel motel and inn are pretty much the same thing. Biggest difference might be all the money they waste to LOOK extravagant). Everytime I'm in Gunnison I'll be staying here. At the Alpine Inn. I can't say enough good things...
Read moreI stayed here in April and...it was an experience haha. First off, like many of the reviews have said, the room was very clean! So that was nice. Bed was comfortable and bedding all was clean too. The place wasn't bad enough where I necessarily want to leave a bad review, but just for others to be aware, I'm sharing the bad side of my stay.
The evening I got there, it was warm in the room. The thermostat didn't do anything, but I finally figured the big unit by the window wasn't plugged in. So I fixed that easy enough. But in the meantime, I opened my window to get cool air in. After that, I closed it and tried to lock it. The lock didn't work and definitely didn't lock! I was on the first floor, so I needed that fixed haha. Went to the front desk and spent at least 5 minutes ringing the bell for the guy to come out from the office area. He was on his phone, having a good conversation with someone loudly. I finally had to yell so he'd hear me...still not sure how he didn't hear the bell I rang so much. Anywho, he went out and found a board for me to stick in the window so nobody could slide it open. Problem solved! For me at least, hopefully they fixed it for good!
I stayed 3 nights. When I came back after my first night with my arms full of whatever. Had to walk out to the desk to have them get me new cards. And for two of the evenings I was there, a smoke detector across the hall was low on battery and wouldn't stop beeping. So those two things were just minor annoying things. But for safety if you stay there, check your...
Read moreThe hotel itself was great, but wasn't good enough for 5 stars. If I could, I would rate it 2.5 Stars. Stayed for 4 nights, and each of those mornings I woke up around 6:30 am, which i think is pretty normal waking up time, and the breakfast wasn't ready, so a lot of the time by the time I headed out, there wasn't breakfast. Which the breakfast is not amazing. And it's in the most awkward place, just inside the entrance door?? Super strange. The room was good, comfortable beds and clean. Everything worked fine, and hot water was always available. From the style of building, it seems like it used to be a nursing home because there is a phone in the bathroom.... lol Had to ask to remove the pool cover and hot tub cover in the afternoon, which I think is weird. One thing i didn't like is that the building isn't super secure. The back door which is not monitored by camera is never locked, and the front door isn't either, even late at night, and at night the staff is hardly ever at the desk, they are in the back room. I know Gunnison isn't crime ridden, but still some better security...
