This is the best place I have ever stayed. The staff for one, makes it feel like home. They are more than friendly, professional, caring and helpful with mapping information, trails, etc. The Cabins are cleaner than my own home. We don't hesitate to get unpacked hit the beds or couch and relax for a few. No worries at all about the hygiene. They are top notch when it comes to the cabins. The cabins themselves are all very unique, with different themes in each one. If you're wanting the wilderness experience, then Running Bear is the place to rent from! The cozy, more than comfortable cabins give that old time explorer/hiker/backpacker feel with the safety, and soundness of a newly built home. I love sleeping in listening to the rain on the roof! Nothing more enjoying than the peace we get while staying here! Parking is great, plenty of room for all sorts of activities for the kids. It's a beautiful place! Oh, and don't forget to pick up some home made jam before you leave! You won't regret it !!

This an amazing little out of the way Resort with some nice cabins👍👍. We came up for the weekend to do some snowboarding, and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The cabins are a little “rustic” but in a good way. This is a great spot for a weekend getaway!! We will definitely be back again soon Thank you

Oh my goodness the customer service! Excellent, super friendly service. Extremely comfortable accommodations. The cabin we stayed in literally felt like a tiny home it was that big! The price was extremely cheap considering the service and cabin you get for it.

On the was back from Copper Harbor / Houghton, we stayed Saturday night. We checked in a little later than planned. (Side trip to ER) The owners were very accommodating. ||||We (me/ hubby/ college age daughter/ high school age daughter) stayed in the Black Bear Cabin. It was perfect for what we needed. One bedroom ; with double bed and bunk beds. The living room had two nice size couches. This is where the college age daughter slept (Leg was in a brace due to ER visit) All beds and couch were comfortable. ||||There was free wi-fi and decent TV and stations. In the main living area we had to have the owners come over to start the heater (first real cold spell of season) ||||Kitchen and bathroom - nothing fancy but worked. Bring food/ coffee etc. They supply everything else to make meals/breakfast. Note: no microwave - but there are wine glasses :) Bathroom is small but functionable - bring your own towels.||||We will be back and are planning on staying for several days; to enjoy the ability to relax and see the sites...

The owners and care takers of Running Bear Resort were very friendly. Helpful with info about area. This was my first trip up to upper Michigan so all was new to explore. || The cabin we had was a two bedroom with a kitchen, bathroom and living area. It was clean and had all we needed to stay there. The bed I had was fairly comfortable. The daybed in living room was also comfortable. Didn't sleep in any of the other beds. || The resort was located right near Bond falls. The Ottawa National Forest visitor center was only 12 miles away. Shopping and touristy fun was found in Eagle River WI just 40 miles south. Ontonagon and Lake Superior was just north 40 miles. Porcupine Mountains State park was only 50 miles up. Iron Mountain to the East. Great location for lots of things to do.|| I loved how quiet it was there and how clean the cabin was. The price can't be beat. I have paid more for hotel rooms that didn't have all that was available here. There is nothing here that I did not like. || Will be staying here again when I...
