Pulled outta one heck of a storm on I-80 and into BOTNA BEND PARK! Bison! There are many Bison who live at this park, some brown colored some cream colored. The settlers killed near 60 million Buffalo in 50 years. Thats horrible. That's crazy. Why? But at Botna Bend they care about the bison and they look well fed. I wish they had even more room to roam!!! Maybe one day. So I set up my tent and I was stretching in my tent. You'll recall I ate at the Iowa 80 Truck Stop (world's largest)so I didn't eat any dinner here but they do have grills! Grill hotdog. Round bout 10 a mongrel of some kind, be it coyote or some other canine, was hasslin the buffalo! It was a real ruckus too. But I looked out with my torch and the critter musta run oft.    Read moreAwesome place no reservations just pay campsites paved river access. Shower houses were closed for remodeling. Nice hidden gem with a wildlife exhibit 2 years later and the locals have taken over. Sneak in on Thursday take all the electric sites leave ice shanty to reserve spot. Who knows if they even pay. I stopped 2 weeks ago and again on my way back and some of the same campers were in the exact same spot. Must be paying the hosts...

There are 3 camping areas so plenty to choose from. You can enjoy a nice evening walk and check out the elk and buffalo there.
