Gress Locker — Local services in Hancock

I and my family have use Gress Locker for years and have had good service. The time before last I purchased 200 lbs of ground beef. We counted them as we loaded and found out we were one pound short. They were accommodating and no questions asked replaced the 1 lb. This time however I ordered 160lbs of gound beef (which I was splitting with my parents 60 for them 100 lbs for us). I called that morning and ordered. Showed up that afternoon and no one seemed to know what order I was talking about, but was nice enough to make up the order. They threw packages into plastic bags and then proceeded to weigh everything. I figured that they knew how much packaging weighs and would add that to the meat. Nope I was wrong for assuming anything. We are short on meat now. Called Mark and tried to let them make it right once again, but he informed us that the meat varies per package. We were never told or sold that way in the past. Well I weighed the packages and we paid for packaging too. Will definitely be trying a new locker for future purchases.

Update: I had a family member visit and purchase from Gress locker after I shared my personal pros and cons of different lockers. My family member decided to try Gress, they purchased a large quantity and asked if they accepted credit cards. They stated they did and rang up the bill. After getting home and looking at the receipt, they realized they were charge 3% fee for using a card. When Mark was called and asked why. He stated that he charged them because I had wrote a negative review. Prior to this the 3% was always waive, so rather than trying to earn back business, he decided to wrong someone that had no idea that this review was even out there and provide bad business to a new customer. I've been coming here for years when it was called Hancock Locker. I make the trip from out of state but I was shocked that no one handling the food wore gloves. The lady cutting and wrapping my food, she actually stopped to scratch under her nose and then continued on. Food is great 👍 but I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit grossed out by lack of hygiene or food handling precautions such as using gloves. I’m from Blair, NE. and chose to have my beef processed here. I’ll I can say is WOW!!! From my burger, steaks and roasts, to my summer sausage, German weenies and my pepper/cheese beef sticks, these guys rock! I will never go anywhere else from here on out.
