My dad and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a week long Big Island trip and the experience of staying at Magic Skies was easily one our top highlights. Sue and her husband are incredible hosts and the space and property are nothing short of magical-- the pictures don’t do any justice to the quality, beauty, and tranquility of the place.
The rooms: First off, the rooms are spacious and full of incredible details. Sue is an acccomplised artist and my room (top floor garden room) was full of vibrant art including a spectacular mural scene in the bathroom and the cool paintings throughout the top floor. Rooms are very well appointed with mini fridges, modern a/c units, ceiling fans, and spacious on-suite bathrooms with awesome rain shower heads. Beds were really comfy. My dad’s room had sweeping ocean and farm views. Sue’s husband is also an accompliahed wood worker and you’ll find his incredible work, literally from floor to ceiling around the space.
The property: pictures don’t do justice nor were we prepared for how special the property is. It’s a working farm with chickens, goats, cows, and sheep that are living their best ever lives. There is tons of wildlife on the property (so many charming birds!), a cool fam cat, and dogs. You can stroll the farm, interact with the animals, and the property is lined by lush forests, bamboo, and a river with waterfalls. Plus, there are panoramic ocean views from the top floor so you can enjoy the landscape to it’s fullest.
The space: our floor had a beautiful kitchen, living space (with super comfy couches and a nice spotting scope for peeking the ocean) and a really fun game room. My dad and i had the best time playing ping pong and pool on the table. The kitchen is well stocked with coffee and there is a great breakfast option we highly recommend opting for.
Long story short: this place is extra-special and memorable way to experience Hawaii and one of my favorite places i’ve ever stayed in decades of travel. My dad and I will be raving about it for a good while. Do yourself a favor and stay here while you’re in Hilo-- it’s exceeds expectations in every way and is an incredible...
Read moreHow do I even explain how incredible this place is. The name far exceeds what it really is! As an artist myself seeing the talent that went into this magical place is something out of a disney movie. Every inch has some sort of artwork from the owners, from the top to bottom inside and out.
The views are indescribable.
The rooms are meticulously decorated with love and artistic vibes.
The farm has goats, chickens, turkeys, so many fruit trees and exotic plants are something out of my dreams. This is everything I could have wished for and more for a vacation to Hawaii.
We have our whole family here and plenty of room with so many seats to enjoy every morning and night with everyone.
It's close to all the things to do from waterfalls, turtle lagoons, rainforest is right at your fingertips.
The owners are so friendly and have put so much of their heart into this place it truly is a must stay.
The beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept on.
You get all the nature sounds and sereneness all day everyday.
The guys went and picked their own pineapples right in front of the farm the first day.
This place is a must! Especially if you have...
Read moreTo all of those that have multiple tabs open looking for that perfect destination away from home, close em and look no more! You have reached your destination! Comfort ✅ Being 6 months pregnant their beds were sooooo comfortable! You are greeted by majestic craftsmanship, art, and kind hearts of the owners. The views - - EPIC! And everything was so CLEAN! Relaxing morning coffee on the lanai with beautiful sunrise ✅. Watching all the beautiful animals was fun, and being on a farm, note there was no odor for those curious minds. We bought some of the farm's fresh eggs and cooked (or ate leftovers) mostly in the morning,so having the kitchen, appliances and huge fridge was amazing. The location was only 5 minutes from Hilo and I believe is very much centralized to all things east coast of the Big Island. My husband and I are more of the chill, rural type and having waterfalls, hikes, multiple farmer's markets, volcano park etc within an hour makes staying on the East Side so much more accessible. I would like to take this moment to say Thank You to Sue and Kevin (owners) for a great experience, and may you both be blessed and prosperous for you truly have a...
