Ocean Breeze Inn — Hotel in Hawaii

This is a good place to stay. Its clean, there are laundry facilities available, it is walking distance to the ocean where you can watch the waves crashing into the cliffs, there is a washroom, coffee maker, fridge etc. There are supplies available in a common room which also houses the washer and dryer, The supplies included kettle, paper plates, cups, paper trays etc. There is also a BBQ area, I am assuming that we could have used it but we didn't have time for that. There is ample free parking available. There is also a balcony that is available and you can hear the ocean waves from there.||The property does not have air conditioning. It is about 20-30 mins away from the highway. There are not good restaurant options available in 10 mins or so radius.||One fan was not enough, you may want to request for an additional fan||The Ocean Breeze Inn is actually a vacation rental property. It is housed in what appears to be a residential home but it has 4 or 6 rooms, , 4 on the first floor and 4 on the ground floor. There is no elevator, so if you have a mobility challenge, you can ask the owner.||The owner was very responsive on the phone and via email. He was also very flexible. He allowed us to check early morning as opposed to waiting for the 4 pm check in time.||All in all, I will stay here if I come to...

I booked Ocean Breeze very last minute after discovering my Airbnb Hilo booking was not safe. I used a reputable booking site, Booking.com. Andy responded in less than 30 minutes. When I arrived at the Inn, I had not received the text with check in instructions because my phone had been misbehaving. I called Andy and he met me within minutes to greet me and let me know where the keys were. I have had 2 Airbnb vacation rentals of my own so I appreciate solid people. I am disgusted at the poor reviews left for Andy when the “scam” was clearly due to a third party booking site. People…use reputable sites! If you choose to use disreputable booking sites to save $5 have the decency to not blame the hard working host! This behavior is so wrong. Andy is a very nice man and actually built the Inn himself. It is in a residential area that is safe, we fell asleep to the sounds of the waves and frogs, sleeping with the patio door open. The room was spotless, the balcony welcoming, the bed comfortable and a beautiful rugged shoreline is a 5 minute walk away. I would stay here again without question. SCAM ALERT!!!!! Total scam!!!!!!

11/18/2024 1710pm update when I called the number posted to my statement it cycles through and tells me that it's only for reservations, and I should call the hotel directly. When I call that number posted from the text I received, they now recognize my number and no one picks up.

I did report the fraudulent charges immediately on 11/1/2024 by 11/4 only the $17.99 was posted now some how the $600+ is posted and I have to do yet another set of calls.

So half of my review is on the original property I contacted about "shared bathrooms" I was told this was a sister property with private bathrooms when I asked for the address and googled it I saw it was a house. When they mentioned the $200 resort fees I said I'd rather stay at a resort then the female attendant said 'I'm sorry I can't hear you" hung up then I got a text to say my reservation was confirmed. I called back immediately and spoke to 2 different people. They both confirmed it was a recorded line. I called my bank immediately to report the pending...
