Upon our arrival we found the exterior of the hotel to be in bad disrepair and was dirty (i.e., all the garbage cans were full and overflowing, there was debris all over the ground, an EXIT sign was knocked down and was laying on the ground, there were children's toys stored underneath the stairs, a block wall was in bad repair, and there were stains all over the concrete stairs and sidewalk). There were a large number of rooms with the doors left wide open. This may have been rooms still awaiting cleaning, however, it was 4:30 in the afternoon when we arrived and most of the rooms should have already been cleaned and awaiting new arrivals. What really bothered me was if the doors were left open after cleaning, what prevented someone from entering the room and messing it up again. ||||The check-in process was ok, but the desk clerk was less than enthusiastic. ||||Our room was in poor repair and was dirty. The rug was not vacuumed as was evidenced by the tiny stones/pebbles located on the floor which we stepped on with our bare feet. There were stains on the rug and upholstery. There were marks all over the walls and ceiling, and there were holes in the walls which were patched but not finished. The switch to turn on/off the pole lamp was missing and it had to be plugged-in/out in order to operate it. There were two blown out light bulbs on the vanity mirror which needed replacement. There were electrical cords all over the floor. Extension cords with multiple outlet adaptors were used instead of permanent electrical wiring. There were two pictures hung on the wall above the beds, they were both of the same painting. There was a small refrigerator and microwave oven. The refrigerator was turned off upon our arrival. We found a take-out bag located inside it with a sandwich still inside which smelled. The microwave oven did not have enough power in order to heat up a frozen dinner. There was a coffee maker but no coffee, sugar or creamer packets. We had to go down to the office to obtain some. There was a cut metal coat hanger located above the clothes rack which appeared to have been used to open/ unplug something. The bathroom floor was still wet when we arrived, but it was not due to a recent moping because it was still dirty. Needless to say the room was not ideal!||||The following morning we went down to the office for our free breakfast. There were two tables and a total of six chairs to dine at. There was coffee, creamer and sugar; apples & oranges; a toaster but no bread or english muffins for toasting; a waffle iron but no waffle batter for making waffles; two brands of cereals; and a gal. of milk located in small refrigerator beneath the counter. The coffee tasted bad due to a dirty coffee maker.||||I talked to the hotel manager about the poor conditions and the lack of an apporpriate breakfast and all he could do is give excuses. He wasn't interrested in satisfying...
Read moreI am in here in Hempstead on business. There are very few choices for hotels. There was already one bad review on this one before I selected it, but the other hotels had a few bad reviews as well. I got here, and I was already worried about my stay based on how the hotel looked. It just looked a bit dumpy and unkempt.
The Bad:
I got to my room, and the A/C had not been on all day, so it was very hot and steamy. I turned it on, and it rattled and made a lot of noise. The front desk offered me the room next door, and the A/C worked perfectly.
The next problem was the Wi-Fi, which was very slow and kept cutting out. I called the front desk and they said they would reset, which helped for a while.
No remote for the TV. I called the front desk and they brought one to me.
Very little water pressure at sink and shower. It will be difficult to shower for sure.
The coffee cup in the room had a hole in it so it leaked all over the counter, as did the coffee maker itself.
The Good:
It's cheap, $50 per night.
Very quiet with little to no noise at all from the road or surroundings. It's basically surrounded by farmland.
Seems to be safe.
The cable TV channel selection is pretty good, with HBO, Showtime and TMC.
Comfortable bed.
Minimal continental breakfast. Nothing there that I would eat, but it's got the usual stuff such as milk, juice, coffee, donuts, etc.
I would not stay here again. Very basics such as water pressure and Wi-Fi so I can work are a must. It's a great place for someone just needing a place to sleep for the night. Otherwise, definitely not a place to stay more than a night or to...
Read moreThe rooms are disgusting! We reserved two rooms online. Surprise, the cancellation fee is the price of the room. We dropped our college kid off and needed a place to stay overnight and did not want to lose our money.
Beware!!! The images on the website do NOT match the rooms. This is a motel!
The first two rooms were extremely dirty. There was fecal matter and blood all over the sheets. Instead of changing the sheets after a guest left, they just made the bed as if the linen was fresh. Urine was all over the toilet seat and dust on the furniture. White stains was on a loveseat in one of the first set of rooms
. The person running the counter gave us two fresh rooms, but they were only slightly better. I travel with lysol cleaner and wipes , so I cleaned the new bathrooms myself. Also, there is a dog kept downstairs that resides on property. He barks at everything on and off the property(ie) cars passing by on the insterstate. Let's not forget there is no wifi which sucks because it is advertised online ,but again there is no refund and we booked online before viewing the motel.
Please save yourself the frustration and rest somewhere else especially during this ongoing pandemic. If you decide to stay here overnight, bring gloves, cleaning supplies and fresh sheets. You...
