Upon arrival, I drove around the hotel because they appeared to be closed. Weeds growing up, neglected landscaping, only 2 cars in the whole parking lot. The neon open sign was on so I went inside. The lobby had been refurbished with a mix of old and new furnishings, carpet and paint. The gentleman at the counter (spoke in broken English) was not particularly friendly but not unfriendly either. I had made a reservation online about 2 hours earlier but he said it had not come through. He asked for ID and credit card and when I gave them to him he walked over to a counter and photocopied both. I do not like having my credit card copied, but it was done. He gave me a real key and told me that they had key card locks but they didn't work because their locksmith lost the code. On to my room (111). This hotel is the epitome of bad lipstick on a old worn out pig. New beds, furniture and carpet mixed with old lamps and plumbing fixtures. In the pictures you see the remodeling looked like it was done by a 8 year old or a blind carpenter. Backsplashes on vanity out of unknown type material, huge gaps in AC to wall install, silicone caulk used to replace missing tile grout, painting done without any masking or removal of hardware. The bathroom was tiny. The door could not be shut without getting in the tub. The toilet was an extra small round bowl to allow for door clearance. The tub did not drain. When I made the reservation it stated as $109 total as charges. When I got my bill by email overnight they had added taxes and fees upping the total to $125. The beds were comfortable which will save this hotel from a 1...
Read moreif i could leave a 0 star I would. If you care about your overall health I wouldn’t stay here. Me and my boyfriend where staying here for a night as we where traveling from Washington state to South Carolina, so we saw this little town and thought why not try this hotel. First off place is TRASHY!!! Dirty and overall disgusting! Not to mention almost got mugged. The older couple in the front just want to make a few extra bucks. We paid 250$ not expecting the best but definitely not the worst. When I tell you we walked in the room it felt like nobody has cleaned that room since 1950’s there was anything from tics to cockroach’s. We found so many bugs there that it was a health risk. I believe the health department needs to go here and check these old people running this place because they are going to get people sick. So not to mention after we saw the conditions we went to the front desk and of course they’re no refunds that’s when you know your place is dirty!!! You’ll have better luck at the best western down the road! Stay away from this place and spend the extra few dollars on a safe place and good for your...
Read moreMary, the new owner of this hotel, is truly a gem of a person. Her passion and dedication to restoring this place to its former glory is nothing short of inspiring. The moment we stepped foot into this hotel, we felt a sense of warmth and belonging, as if we had reunited with long-lost family members. Our room, with its luxurious king-size bed, felt like a cozy haven away from the world. The presence of a microwave and a spacious fridge only added to the convenience and comfort of our stay.
But what truly blew us away was the level of cleanliness in every nook and corner of this hotel. It was spotless, immaculate, and pristine. Not a speck of dust could be found, even on the artificial tree in the hallway. The attention to detail and care that Mary puts into every aspect of this establishment is beyond commendable.
We wholeheartedly recommend staying here not only for the comfort and affordability but also to support a small, family-owned business that goes above and beyond to provide its guests with a truly exceptional experience. This is not just a place to rest your head; it's a sanctuary of...
