Super 8 by Wyndham Hidalgo/McAllen Area — Hotel in Hidalgo

If you can stay at any other hotel in the area do so. What little you save in money is nothing compared the issues you will have. For starters, our room door didn’t lock we would have to pull it hard several times before we thought it was closed but it could easily be pushed in. Our room was upgraded but only to a room with a microwave that didn’t work, ac the smelled like the filter had not been cleaned ever, and sheets that were stained with what looked like old blood. The “continental breakfast” was an absolute joke nothing like what was pictured online no waffles or fruit only two types of cereal, some muffins and coffee that you could cream with sour expired milk. Lastly the management was sloppy every request seem like an inconvenience more to him than to us followed by a snarky response to some of our questions. Again, if you can book anywhere else I recommend it the place smells like mildew and you will more than likely come back sick and disappointed. Should you still decide to stay don’t expect a refund or compensation for anything you go through all they offer is a room to get you to go back and relive the nightmare of experience...

10/10 would not recommend. I've stayed in some rough places but this one by far was the worst. The beds are terrible, room is very humid and a/c struggles to keep up, not a single vending machine works, your breakfast item is sliced bread or corn flakes, pretty sure half the staff is living here and their kids are constantly running up and down the hallway, nothing has been updated in this building since its conception everything is either broken or worn out and every side room ect has become storage it seems for the ones living here. Speaking of them they either hit on every guest or try to get money from every guest, they have a limited amount of rooms due to the staff living here. I could go on but I think I've made the point, this has been by far my worst experience ever at a motel, this is why I don't let my wife book places lol, the photos you see if this place online are nothing to what this place is, the lack of maintenance and care are apparent around every corner. Misleading Pictures on Website – Disappointing Stay

First Impressions: Upon arriving at Super8 Hotel, we were eager to check into our room, having been impressed by the photos displayed on their website. Unfortunately, what we encountered was quite different from what was advertised.

Room Description: The pictures online showed spacious room with sofa and coffee maker. Which their wasn’t.

Facilities: While the hotel claimed to offer breakfast, it is merely coffee, juice, cereal and toast.

Customer Service: We raised our concerns with the front desk, but they were unhelpful and offered no solutions or discounts.

Overall Experience: This experience was disappointing as the reality did not match the expectations set by the hotel’s advertising. I would not recommend this hotel to others, as it feels like a bait-and-switch situation.
