The Vineyard at High Holly — Hotel in Highlands

Where do I even begin? When my husband and I were looking at venues a little over a year ago, we were feeling a little hopeless. Nothing felt quite right. That feeling was stripped away when we saw The Vineyard at High Holly. We left our tour giggly about the fact that we both fell in love with the property and knew we had to get married there.

The cottages each have great personality, and make accommodations easy for family and wedding party members. Golf cart use makes getting around easy, even for people who may have mobility challenges. The ceremony space is absolutely beautiful. There are plenty of fire pits and gathering spots sprinkled across the property for people to get together.

The pavilion has gorgeous views of the property and can be opened up to let in a breeze, or closed to keep out any rain. This reception space has a good sized commercial kitchen in it, making it a breeze to cater. Access to the refrigerators means it is easy to keep perishables and beverages cool the whole weekend.

About 10 months after signing a venue contract, the property had new ownership. We were so nervous… Would this mean we would have to change venues? What would the new owners be like?

My husband and I left our meeting with the new owners, Lesley and Eric, relieved and even more excited about the venue. They had been all hands on deck, working to make an already beautiful property look even more like heaven. It was important to us that our wedding weekend felt like a vacation getaway for our guests staying on-site, and for ourselves. On our last day at the vineyard, my husband and I didn’t want to leave after experiencing such a hospitable stay on this beautiful property. The owners are truly great people and extremely professional and passionate about making the vineyard the perfect space for events/vacations.

Amidst some planning troubles, Lesley stepped up and worked personally with me to ensure we had everything ready to go with each vendor. She and Eric truly went above and beyond in helping plan our wedding weekend, and in actively working behind the scenes on our wedding day. Lesley’s communication skills are impeccable, which makes a huge impact when planning a wedding. Her attention to detail is unmatched, and her hospitality made the experience so calming and even fun.

My husband and I will absolutely be coming back to the vineyard for small getaways and to celebrate our anniversary next year. Lesley and Eric, we can’t thank you enough for everything and are looking forward to seeing you...

We cannot say enough good things about High Holly and Lesley and Eric. We had our wedding here on May 20, 2023 and it was absolutely beautiful.

We were the first wedding at High Holly after Lesley and Eric bought the property. We were nervous about the changeover but honestly we wish it had happened sooner! Lesley was absolutely on top of it from day one. She was attentive, empathetic, and so much fun to work with! If she had been there from the start I know our wedding would have been even more exceptional.

On the day, Lesley was so incredible. She balanced the timeline with what she knew we wanted. She was always a beacon of calm and never added stress, even if what was happening was stressful.

It rained on our day, which wasn’t ideal, but she went out of her way to make sure we were updated and calm. She made so many arrangements to ensure we could make the call as close to the ceremony as possible. We ended up having our ceremony in the pavilion while it poured outside. It was beautiful and magical and amazing. The turnover from ceremony to reception was so smooth, even though it all happened in the same pavilion space.

To be honest, the accommodations really started from day 0. We had initially booked out the house that Lesley, Eric, and their family moved into upon buying the property for our rehearsal dinner. From our first communication, they made it clear that nothing would change and went out of their way to accommodate us.

I cannot stress enough how amazing this was. This is the home their family lives in and she let 80 of us into their space and was extremely gracious. She even offered a bedroom to a couple in our wedding party that would not have fit otherwise. This was just one example of how they went out of their way to make sure our wedding was exactly what we had in mind! They were so kind and did not have to help us as much as they did!

Our family and friends had an amazing time all weekend and it was such a beautiful wedding. Those who stayed at the property couldn’t say enough good things about the accommodations. The honeymoon suite was particularly nice! It was truly like staying in a five star hotel.

Our wedding itself was beautiful, the property was absolutely gorgeous. We really do not have enough good things to say about high holly and about Lesley and Eric! We are so glad we had the privilege of being married...

While we didn't explore their wine offerings during this particular visit, based on the overall experience we had with their exceptional cocktails and inviting atmosphere, it's safe to assume that The Vineyard at High Holly would also excel in producing top-quality wines.
