Paragon Inn Hillsboro — Hotel in Hillsboro

This little motel is ok if you just need a bed. The outdated motel lacks proper door locks, just one key lets anyone in. A little chain is in place but there is no way to tell the clearing crew you are here. A "do not disturb" sign would come in really handy.||Really small bars of soap which they do not replenish unless you ask. A spit full of shampoo, no conditioner. ||They do provide a refrigerator and microwave but only one cn be plugged in at any given time because there are not enough outlets. The room has NO coffee maker. ||The room has a funky, musty smell and they turn off the A/C if you are not there.The rooms could use super deep cleaning such as new carpet and new paint on the walls. Everything smells like someone used to smoke in here although it is now billed as a ||"no smoking" room.|| Oh, and they unplug the clock to plug i the vaccuum so you always have to rest the clock and alarm.||The room is quiet, well insulated from the neighbors, but the HVAC unit makes all sorts of strange noises, lots of licks and hums and bangs.||The bed seem clean. However, there are little bugs in the bathroom and sink area. I killed them when I saw them but then another one joined me. I killed perhaps 5 during a 3 day stay, so not bad, but gives one an icky feeling.||The motel also seems to be place where people live from month to month to month, so there is always someone standing on the 2nd floor balcony watching - creepy at night.||Again, it's a basic motel with absolutely no amenities, which is how they advertise. Not a place you'd like to bring the kids or the honey for a romantic get-away. But it's a roof...

Dislike: || The most unpleasant thing is the Wifi. Our phones could not even find the Wifi! My laptop, however, could connect it and have slow internet. We are on the other end of motel, so that's probably why. This was the first place i stayed in that had no good internet, so I was a little upset and shocked by it. || No pool, gym, or free breakfast service. I don't like the air conditioning turning on and off, it's hard to sleep (but to be fair, a lot of motels were like this) ||||Tips for eating out: || There was a Dairy Queen nearby. But for other restaurants like pizza hut, bob evans, and mcdonalds you better drive couple miles to the kroger and walmart area nearby. That was a better area. We were frustrated because we drove to the pizzahut nearest to the motel, there wasn't any parking space for us (it was meant to be a pick-up not dine in). We didn't want to park on the road cause the street was narrow and we had a big car.|| ||Like: || The room and bathroom were very tidy and clean. || There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room (we didnt use it, but it was convenient). Also, there was a little table and two chairs in the room.|||||| In all, the room had all the basic stuff to provide a rather comfortable stay. I wasn't happy about the Wifi because I felt like it should be a pretty basic service, and I wasn't able to get it. I paid the same price (around 60 dollars including tax) before at other place and got good wifi, free breakfast, and even swimming pool. So I thought that this was comfortable but not good value and...

Had to listen to the dumb owner tell me how Trump is a racist and the media is honest and right that Americans are racist but then goes on to tell me that in her 20 years of business only one person had been racist towards her. Are you brain dead? Regardless if you like our president I don't need to hear you telling me what to think as I'm busting my butt all well working and your low energy self can barely change the sheets. Some days they were changed some days they were not. No reason at all. Snowed 7 inches one night and they plow one strip up the hill. Are you f'in serious? I had a medium duty truck with 10k lbs trailer. I had to get out and lock the hubs every time I came and went. Plow your lot, it made it so difficult to live there for the week. She was putting table salt on the sidewalk. Cheap cheap cheap. Also, I asked for weekly rate and extended my stay and she charged me the daily rate for the extension and the rate itself fluctuated by $2-3 each time. I had to get a truck part sent to the hotel so I go to ask them what I should do, I go to the office and the guy goes "what's up". What's up? How about hi how are you? What can I help you with? I'm not your buddy , show some respect. Overall it's a dump. I was rubbed the wrong way. Just try not to stay anywhere...
