Super 8 by Wyndham Holton — Hotel in Holton

Absolutely terrible experience. The room was filled with filth. Anywhere to broke ac/heater unit to dog food on the floor, to holes/scratches in the wall, stains on the countertops, and missing shower liner so water does not flood the bathroom floor. There was also brown smears of unknown substance on a wall next to the bed. Anyone’s imagination can guess what that substance may be. Can you say “Ewwwww.” However it might be the first time the floors had been cleaned in a while. No cable television….was told that guests are stuck with “Vizio Watchfree” because cable television costs money to get (subscription). Bed was huge but hard as a rock. Needless to say, I lost my appetite by staying here, so dinner and breakfast was out of the picture. Breakfast appeared like they pulled something out of their personal fridge. Like I said was not gonna risk it.Never will be taken or stay in this place again. Terrible!I was told this is the nicer of the two motels in Holton which is sad! 1st visit I stayed a few days, Had no issues with customer service. Very friendly & accommodating, However second visit I tried calling several times & there was no answer, when I got there another customer was dealing with an issue & noticed the front door said WE ARE NOT PET FRIENDLY!!! This site says they are pet friendly, I left due to the front desk lady was busy, called yet again & again no answer so I came back. She was still with the same customer dealing with an online reservation issue. I waited then asked is there something wrong with the phones & she replied oh uhh I must have been on the phone 🤔 I then stated I have a service dog with proper paperwork & she said no animals were permitted on premises even with credentials which is against the law. I called and made a reservation. When I checked in, later that same evening, I was told the rate was higher than I'd been quoted for my "confirmed" reservation. When I said "o.k., but I was quoted the lower rate", the desk clerk copped an attitude and said the regular rate was much higher.||I had a couple other issues that night also with the room. Each time I contacted the night clerk (tall middle eastener) he was dismissive.||The room was not in order. One of the lights was missing a bulb. One of the lights didn't work. The TV had limited selections and the "guide" to the channels was inaccurate. No "Do Not Disturb" sign. One was not available at the front desk, either.||The breakfast was lame. A lesser version of what is normally at a Super 8. No bagels, no English muffins.||So, overall, a big letdown, even...
