We stayed here over 4th of July. Camp spot # 5 is one of the best. It’s right next to the river and neighbors not too close. The campground is just off the highway, but when you are close to the river it drowns out the sounds of the cars going by. But I think the spots near the highway would be terrible for lights and car noise. We reserved online 3 months in advance. An awesome hike to a waterfall is a few hundred yards from the campground and you don’t have to worry about finding a parking spot. The hike itself is a few miles round trip.

Great little campground! Yes it can be a bit noisy at night with the highway and the trucks, but the river helps to drown some of that out. Sites are tight for an RV! Best suited for tents and campervans. At $30 a night, its not a cheap campground for having zero amenities. The river is full of feisty little trout. Best to fly fish and catch and release with barbless hooks. Great place if you are just looking for a easy spot to overnight. There is also plenty of dispersed camping nearby as well.

Pulled in just in time to snag a spot. The river is so loud it's awesome. Unfortunately the logging trucks were also very loud.... all night. The Tamanawas Falls hike is close and super worth it. Moderate/easy, absolutely gorgeous river and falls. There are pit toilets, no sinks or water 🙄 for $21 a night potable water would have been nice 💦

There isn't a camp host. There is not a source of water other than the river. So pack your own water. This is not a children friendly campground due to it's close proximity to highway 35. Management does not communicate with those who have made reservations. Example, on their website, says to bring your own firewood. Up on arrival, campfires were prohibited. There was no communication from management. The website also says there is no water hookup. This is inaccurate information, and that there is no water source at all. If you like jake brakes on trucks, this is a great place to stay at night! Otherwise, it is pretty noisy. The campsites were also misleading, and that our site, site 16, was listed as a back in for a trailer. There is no space to back in a trailer. The only place to park it was in a wide parking spot far away from the picnic table and shade. It is a very large camp site, which would be suitable for many tents. However, this campsite is not suitable for campers, other than very small teardrop trailers. The website needs to be honest about accessibility. Some of the campsites could not be reached from within the campground, but could be back into from highway 35. It is very near a trailhead, which makes this campground seem attractive. The campsites need to be redesigned to where they are not so crowded together. The toilet is located in the middle of all the campsites, so this meant that anyone needing to use the restroom had to walk through someone's campsite to go to...

The river was great, fairly easy to find since it is right on the highway. Cars are loud as they drive by and the camp manager wasn't very friendly. When I showed up I got the last site and paid my fee for two nights and a second car. Got to the site and there was no picnic table, so no place to use my cooktop since there was a burn ban. The campers next to us paid for two nights and only stayed one, so we went and used their picnic table since the spot had already been paid for and the people were gone. Nope. Thats a big no no. So we ended up paying for that spot for a night just to use the picnic table since we can't move the picbic tables. Kinda ridiculous. And the bathrooms were not maintained well at all. Probably...

It is quite loud during the day, but in the evening it quiets down a lot. I'm not a heavy sleeper, but I was able to sleep through the night unbothered and I had a site next to the highway. It would be better to get a spot near the river though, so try for that if you can. Bathrooms are quite well maintained for what they are, but there are no lights except natural light, so don't forget your headlamp or lantern after dusk. No water, so be sure to bring a couple gallons with you. I'd say it's a bit high priced for what you get, but not a bad place to enjoy...
