My husband and I stayed at Los Lagos for our vacation to the Hot Springs area. I made our reservation through a hotel booking site (specifically Capital One travel).||When we were planning our vacation, we decided to stay in Hot Springs Village due to its location. We had plans to visit attractions in Hot Springs during the day, return to our lodging for a rest, if needed, and then see some special events happening in Little Rock at night.||Unfortunately, this ended up being more cumbersome than we had planned. For the uninitiated (like I was), Hot Springs Village is America's largest gated community, totaling more than 26,000 acres. It has 6 gates. However, as a visitor and not a resident, the only gate you can enter at any time is the west gate on highway 7, the only 24 hour manned gate, where you flash a paper pass every time you wish to enter. The rest of the gates shut down at 10 pm unless you are a resident and possess the appropriate pass for the automated gates.||Therefore, if you decide to go to an evening event in Little Rock and it doesn't end until after 10, you need to circumvent the entire village to enter through the west gate, despite what your GPS may tell you. Had this information been made available when we booked, we would have chosen to stay elsewhere.||Also, we found that there was not a large variety available in terms of restaurants within Hot Springs Village (or even directly outside of it). To some this may not be a big deal, but it is something we noticed while staying here.||As for the room itself - the decor and amenities were a bit dated (I was surprised to find it even had a VHS player), but the bed and couch at least were comfortable. The kitchen was small, but could be used to cook small meals that do not require an oven. We were pleased that a full sized fridge was available for the small amount of groceries we did buy. The water pressure in the shower was not great. ||You are supposed to call at least 24 hours in advance for the information needed to check-in, but only between 9 am-Noon and 1-5 pm. If you arrive after 5 pm, you will receive your keys via lockbox as the office will be closed. There is paperwork you must return before 8 a.m. the next morning (which removes all liability from Los Lagos if you are injured or get sick during your stay). A $48 fee must be paid before noon the day after you check in or your key card will be deactivated.||There is a page long list of rules & guidelines for the timeshare that you receive when you get your keys. One of those rules is that the AC temperature can only be set between 72 and 76 degrees on auto and must be kept on at all times (so it does not freeze). My husband is naturally warmer than the average person and had trouble sleeping with this temperature range.||We were unable to use the hiking trails, bike paths, hot tub and marina due to poor weather during our stay, but it was nice to have nearby. ||I am not personally planning to stay here again, as I felt the amount of restrictions, paperwork and deadlines involved were more excessive than I am used to and added undue stress to this portion of my vacation.||TLDR: I could recommend staying here if the weather cooperates and you are planning to use your stay to take full advantage of Hot Springs Village’s outdoor amenities, but would not recommend it if you are planning to leave the village frequently or if your vacation plans involve going towards Little...

Los Lagos at Hot Springs Village in Arkansas, does not have the good air conditioning systems. The air inside of the rooms smell bad. We have a problem with one of the rooms that the air conditioning was not working at all. Then the manager move us to an other room, and one day before we leave, we have the same problem. This was not a good experience at all for the lack of maintenance of the property Also the furniture is old and smell bad. The bedroom was not good also, the spring was making noise every time we move around. We will not return to that place again. I do not recommend the place to anyone. We ask for some refund and the manager said we ha e to call to our place where we reserved the rooms because we did not reserve with them directly. I don't like to leave bad reviews but this place definitely deserves it.

Disappointing Stay at Los Lagos – Would Not Recommend
Our experience at Los Lagos at Hot Springs Village was very disappointing. The air conditioning systems throughout the property are in poor condition. The air inside the rooms smelled bad, and in one of the rooms, the AC didn’t work at all. We were moved to another room, but the exact same issue happened again the day before we were set to leave.
It’s clear there is a serious lack of maintenance at this property. The furniture is old, worn out, and smells musty. The bed in our room was uncomfortable, and the springs made noise every time we moved.
We asked for a partial refund, but the manager told us to contact the third-party booking site because we didn’t book directly with them — not a helpful response.
I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this place definitely earned it. We will not return, and I do not recommend...
