The food is definitely not authentic. Ground beef burritos don't use marinara sauce nor does chili rellenos. The food is insipid and requires lots of salt and pepper. It is not well seasoned nor does it resemble any authentic Mexican cuisine. I am a bilingual Hispanic Ecuadorian and married to a wonderful Mexican woman with true Mexican culture and cuisine. I will only eat her homemade Mexican food at home for the most part, but we will never ever eat food from the tasteless overpriced non authentic and way too overrated "Mexican "restaurant El Jimador. My wife was very upset and disappointed and so was I and even my 12 year old son said gross!😬👎The up side is the kind and attentive and helpful staff that takes care of their costumers correctly to what we observed. To all those who like the food you are being lied to. That's not what real Mexican food should taste like. But hey to each is own.

The food is pretty good but if the place is busy the service sucks. We placed a "to go" order and my husband went to pick it up and brought it home. When we opened it everything was not what we ordered. My husband took it back up and talk with the cashier. He told them that it wasn't correct. Pryor to returning to the restaurant is opened a cheese dip. I told my husband to have them charge us for that as I was hungry. Before he could relay this to the cashier they accused him of not bringing it back. They were quite rude to my husband. It was not our mistake. Every time we have family members visit we always go there because we can get in our golf cart and ride there. We love to sit out on the deck. After the rudeness my husband encountered we golf cart on by that place. We have two other Mexican restaurant's in a five mile radius and prefer to go where we are treated with kindness and happy staff. Remember in most cases the customer is always right if you want the customer...

ROACHES!!! My wife and I were a few bites into our meal, when a huge roach came out crawling all around the main floor. It was very visible. It crossed the main floor several times, and the staff just ignored it. The roach headed toward our booth, and I had to get out of the booth, step on it to keep it from getting on us or our table, then make a statement out loud before any of the staff would address the issue. Saying the roaches are from the woods is no excuse. When you have your business sprayed, it leaves a barrier behind that killes the roaches before coming inside. Other roaches learn where not to go. None of the staff, not one of them, including the manager/owner cared about their roach problem. They did nothing at all to take care of or rectify the situation. The fact that the roaches are just running around chillin, and the staff doesn't care, means the restaurant is not clean and they are not keeping up with their spraying. WE LEFT. WE WILL NOT BE...

Husband and I came for dinner. The night started out okay. Got our food and about four bites in my husband noticed a huge cockroach running across the floor. He had to jump up and step on it to keep it from coming at me and our table. I understand that we live in a wooded area, but most businesses spray to keep the bugs out in the woods. I instantly lost my appetite. I have a full plate of food that will go to waste. As seen below. We will not return. Staff dismissed the entire situation and said it's from outside, but was quick to sweep it up. The point is as a business it's your job and responsibility to keep them out.

Great Food, Great Service! We are back in HSV visiting and just had our 2nd delicious meal here. We were here 4 months ago and had a great experience, so I knew I wanted to come back. Sophia was our waitress and she was great! I had the Ranchero Jalisco (beef, shrimp and chicken over a bed of rice/peppers, covered in a delicious cheese topping. My wife had some cheese enchiladas with 2 types of salsa toppings along with a crispy taco and side of rice. Not only was Sophia great, but our host came and checked on us a few times also, ensuring we had everything we needed!

Very nice Mexican food restaurant. Casual atmosphere. They bring you all of the chips and salsa you can eat. The meal was wonderful and authentic. The chicken chimichanga came with a cheese sauce on it. The cheese sauce is very yummy. Kind of reminded me a little of an alfredo sauce. Great service as well. ****Update. Had the Steak Fajitas tonight. Best thing I've had there yet! Was so good. They were really busy this evening but their service was still excellent. Thank you El Jimador for another great meal.****
