Best. Experience. Ever. Let's break it down!

BOOKING PROCESS We decided to book online and it was an easy process. If you stay at KOAs this was really no different than making any other reservation.

FIRST IMPRESSION This is a feeling that's hard to describe. When we pulled up, we immediately felt a good vibe. Of course, that paired with the incredible view, we were so excited to see what we were in for.

CHECKING IN The staff here... Is there even a way to convey how awesome they are? Every single person that we dealt with was genuinely happy to be there and genuinely happy to be helping us have a great time. The check-in process was easy and we got tent campsite number seven (which will forever be hilarious because this is the third campsite we got in a row at #7). The man who checked us in was not only funny but very informative and gave us a rundown and a very helpful sheet of rules and activities.

GIFT SHOP The main office is also attached to a gift shop that has so many different unique and fun items to commemorate your time at devil's Tower. Not only that but they have a lot of selection for snacks, beer, a large selection of spirits, groceries, and more. I got a Poppi and my dad got some Blue Moon. They even had some non-alcoholic beer! At the far end there is a place for ice cream as well :)

AMENITIES Free Putt Putt during office hours They show Close Encounters of the Third Kind every night! Nice pool area They seem to have different rotating events based on signups, one of them being a paint and sip! Historical Hay Rides

BATHROOM/SHOWERS Wow. Wow. Wow. I can easily say these were the cleanest and nicest at any campground I've ever stayed at in my 32 years of life. The showers are all private units, with doors that lock and plenty of space to have things while you take a shower. It was so clean and I loved listening to music on my phone. It is really the small touches around places like this that make it so great, the shower curtain that I had was a happy camper image and that was just a fun touch.

CAMPING SITE We have gotten really lucky on this trip with camping sites and I can easily say that the view was... I mean I don't even have words. What an amazing experience and this is a place you could easily come and stay for a few days and never be bored. We really just enjoyed sitting and talking and looking at devil's Tower, I think anywhere in the park you would have a fantastic view.

We were in a tent site and backed the car up. There was electric and potable water and it did not have a smell, so I could drink it easily. It was very flat and easy to set up camp. We also had a picnic table and grill.

NOTEWORTHY DETAILS The views from this campsite are unbelievable. Whether you're here for a night or a few days you are in for a treat, definitely worth driving into the park for a hike or two.

This place will leave me with memories to last a lifetime. Support the amazing people who run this place and enjoy yourselves - you...

The KOA is a reflection on the owners attitude. We were travelling with 4 young adult children. We were supposed to have 2 cabins next to each other. Before we arrived. A man complained his cabin AC was broken. To make him happy they moved him into one of the cabins we reserved. The kids were put in a cabin 4 or 5 down from ours.

At 10 pm the last thing you feel like doing is sorting gear in the dark. We did and we all survived. It was cool enough to sleep with out AC. The kids wake each other with out white noise. Providing them with a fan would have been equally effective.

Dawn arrived and so did a truck and cowboys behind cabin 1, our cabin. Dad and slept with our windows open. In rolled a truck. I could heard voices. The Cowboys added to the sound of cows, the birds were lovely to take time from our action filled week to enjoy being still and simply enjoy early morning before loading up for more hiking. Sadly the truck was not turned off and all i could hear was a truck idling.

I spoke to acvery nice woman clean the now empty cabin next to ours. In case they did not know that sime cabins had ac unitsvas promised, but no way to plug thembin. The super nice woman cleaning empty cabins I wanted to let her know that the AC in the kids cabin had no way to plug it in. She was surprised. Someone else pointed out the owner.pointed out of the Property. He told me they were not open yet. Then made a few excuses for the absence of plugs. He totally man-splained men. I am not stuoid or ignorant. The AC would work if you left an extention cord that would react thevother plug.

As to the KOA not being open. Why were they renting cabins, tent and RV s poace. Ckearly they were open. They alsi took our money. a clear sign they were upen. most cabins were filled, many tent sites and RVs were there. He took our money. He was rude.

Enough with the bad taste his reaction left behind. The beautiful stream with beautiful fish made me wish we could spend the day enjoying Devils Tower from the camp. They are beautifully renovating classic play ground equipment. Definately a plus in my book. They had indian type. Along one wall. We saw a cute pitch and put golf course we saw on the way out.

The AC is a small thing. If that was the only problem I would have given a 4.

Separating a family to appease another client, is not fair. We requested cabins next to each other. We were assured that was not a problem.

The owner talked to me like a mental slow old woman. A politician should have a better game face.

We have stayed a other KOA camps and never had a problem. If you have college students and just young kids who have entered the work force you will understand how important proximity is. This was our 1st vacation we have had in 7 years with all of our family.. our trip was not ruined but the visit to Devils Tower was hard with a bunch of sleep deprived...

Top notch KOA! The one downfall was the construction and projects while we were there. I wish we had been able to use the mini golf and pool (especially since it was in the 90s). This place isn't huge, but has two great laundry facilities (I took photos of only one). The downfall was that the vending machine for laundry products was nearly empty (which we bring our own detergent with us so it didn't bother us at all). I spent some time near the laundry room while chatting with another lady and folding. It was a bit warm in the laundry room and there were a lot of ants on the benches out front, but again didn't bother me, its to be expected. The bathrooms are well maintained other then when immature and irresponsible people trash them. I went into the ladies bathroom while waiting for my laundry and clearly someone felt the need to throw toilet paper everywhere and also put a whole ton in the toilet and clog it. I don't hold the mess to the camp ground because they can't control the people who stay there and it was cleaned the next morning when staff began work for the day. The sites were huge and very very roomy! Sadly it was super windy (60+MPH winds) while we were there and we didn't get to do our whole nice set up. We got lucky with one of the shady sites and had a great view of Devils Tower. Nearby campers blocked the view from inside, but it was still amazing to see it from camp. I do wish there was a trail to the Devils Tower park entrance or something instead of having to drive there but thats just me being picky. There is a new building being constructed (not sure what it will be) and they are redoing the mini golf and pool for the season. I sure wish we had stayed after these updates were done to take advantage. I will say the the boys painting the pool could probably be done already if they'd actually paint it 🤷‍♀️ i drove and/or walked by several times throughout the day and I saw them actually working one time. The rest of the time they were just sitting there talking or inside the camp store hanging out instead. The store does randomly close early which isn't great since I walked up there from my site at 8:05 to find they closed at 8 instead of 9. Ice cream in the store was good. The girl serving us was a little young and was not rude, but not exactly friendly either. Just needs to have some personality. I pointed out some little things that came to mind, but I'd definitely stay here again and would definitely...

BEWARE!!! I don’t think I have ever left a negative review before, but after my family’s experience at this KOA, I felt compelled to warn others. I generally really enjoy staying at KOA campgrounds, especially as I know they are family friendly. While the location is beautiful and we enjoyed the stargazing, our experience was anything but relaxing. I have never been to a KOA which suspends quiet hours during “special events” but I surely wish the owners would have disclosed this as their policy on their website before I made our reservations. Upon arrival, we discovered there was a wedding and quiet hours would be suspended - and no refunds would be given should we choose to leave due to this. We were beginning a marathon trip home to the East Coast with our family of 8 (including young children) and were kept up with very loud live music from the wedding reception until almost 1130pm - and the loud partying by drunk wedding goers lasted well past that time - into the early morning hours - with no recourse available. The movie was also cancelled inexplicably due to the wedding. The whole experience made our time at Devil’s Tower the least favorite part of our trip, and we will never return. At the very least, patrons should be made aware of the quiet hours policy/no refunds so they can decide for themselves if this set up works for them before arriving. I imagine most people are on vacation here and don’t want loud partying into the night with no option to go elsewhere without paying twice - terrible customer service!! There’s also no mention on the website but fires are not allowed (though the sprinklers on the campground run 24 hrs a day.) This looks like a long-standing policy as the fire pits are filled with trash and cigarette butts. So gross!! These are both issues we really wish we would have known before we came as they both would have affected our vacation planning. Such a disappointing and frustrating end to our vacation. We traveled 10 states and stayed in only KOAs and this is the only negative experience we had - but I definitely do not enjoy the “bait and switch “ feeling this one has - especially at such a premium price.
