This is one of the worst hotel experiences in my life. The only good thing I can say about it is that it was clean. And the bathroom was nice. All of the casino hotels were booked up on a Friday night. Some told me to go here. I called them before I went there just in case they were filled too. The lady I spoke to on the phone said that all she had left was a suite for $250 per night. Little expensive but thinking a suite should be alright. After being on the road for 9 hours and since it was all I could get I said ok. And I’m sure the lady knowing there was nothing else jacked her price up. We arrived at the motel about an hour and half later. The check in desk is in the middle of a liquor store. That should have told me something. The ‘suite’ they were going to give me was a cabin up on a hill with steps. I told the girl that showed it to me that my husband couldn’t do that. He has a balancing problem. So she said she could give me another room for $180. So be it for all they have was a $250 suite. Well she didn’t know how to take it off my credit card since I prepaid on the phone with the first lady. She called that lady back to ask her how. But that lady wouldn’t refund me and still charged me the $250 for a regular room. The room itself was about a 10 foot x 13 foot. Just wide enough for a bed and 1 end table. The mattress was smaller than the box spring. I thought it was fairly comfortable but my husband did not. There were no chairs you could sit and watch tv on. There was no table lamp that you could read a book with. Or even for a night light. There was also this weird step that went up into the bathroom. You couldn’t get out of bed on the one side without stepping on this step. Which is also why there was no end table there. Also couldn’t get used to stepping up on here and tripped on it every time. The bathroom was about the same size as the bedroom. The worse part about this room was that all of the furniture was built with cedar I believe. And the smell of it was strong. I hadn’t noticed it when I looked at the room, but after I could hardly breath. My lungs were rattling. I pretty much had to cover my nose and breath through my mouth. If you have any kind of lung issues like asthma, do not stay here. I was seriously considering going out to sleep in my car, but it was only 42 degrees out. And that was another point. We could not turn the heater on in the room because it would blow the curtains out and anybody could look into the room. We left as soon as possible. They don’t even give you any breakfast for as much money as you pay them for. Horrible place! Do not stay here. Not unless you want to get ripped off. I’ll never recommend...
Read moreI will never come back to this place again!! It is overpriced and overrated..The day I checked in with my fiancée thinking we would have a relaxing getaway for a night, nothing turned out as I had expected. Imagine opening the door to the room that was supposedly your room and finding other people already in there, and it appeared they had already been partying hard by 3 p.m.!! When we went back to the office (located in the liquor store/convenience store/marijuana dispensary) the reception desk was less than sympathetic and just shook their head as if it was nothing! I paid $139.00 for it!! As upset as I was, she then gave us a room located right next to it and upon entering, I noticed that the paint was peeling off of the door and there was an adjacent door to the previous room we had been given! I had expected to see the furniture and accommodations that were in the pictures, that didn't turn out very pleasant as the tub was not as it was in the pictures, the fridge was an old ice box and the door did not have a deadbolt, just a regular lock and didn't even close all the way. You had to pull on it really hard to get it to latch. We decided not to leave our things there while we ventured into Blackhawk for some gaming as we feared someone (or the people we found in the other room) would easily be able to break into it. For the price I paid, I would assume they would give my money back or just give me a discount for all the problems. Top it all off, we couldn't find any parking after we got back and with all the commotion, we had to sleep with the chair propped against the door for fear that someone may break in!! I couldn't sleep at all that night and am thankful we made it out in one piece. Never again will I go back and definitely not referring anyone I...
Read moreI booked this motel because it was (slightly) cheaper than the casinos. I booked online, received a confirmation email and a confirmation number for a room with two queen beds. When we arrived at the property we were told that the online reservation system "hadn't been working for weeks" and that our reservation WASN'T VALID, and that the motel was sold out (as was the rest of Black Hawk). NOWHERE on the website did it say this.||||It gets crazier. After some frantic searching, one of the front desk attendants was able to find one room with only ONE bed still available. She gave us the key to look at the room and asked us to come back to the office once we were ready to book. We looked at the room, decided to book because it was literally our only option even though some of our guests would have to end up sleeping on the floor. When we came back (in the span of 5 minutes) to book, THEY HAD GIVEN UP THAT ROOM TO ANOTHER COUPLE THAT HAD JUST WALKED IN. While we still had the key and were inside looking at it!||||||Apparently they had one last room left above the owner's residence that we were eventually given with a small discount. The room was decorated nicely except for the 20-30 dead fly carcasses all over the windowsill and inside the bath tub, some still alive.||||I'm giving two stars because the shuttle driver, Judy, was very sweet and helpful, and the scenery at the property is nice. Other than that, the rooms are pretty dirty and the management entirely disorganized. Will be booking a stay at the...
