Beautiful location! We spent our 10th anniversary for the night at Daniels Summit Lodge. We walked around 10 minutes trying to find room 222 as marked on our key cards. The desk clerk forgot to mention there isn’t a room marker for 222 but a name for the room instead. She acted put out when we finally went down and asked where it was. We walked over to the restaurant for dinner. It was busy and they looked to be short staffed but it was still a good experience, good food, waitress handled everything well considering how busy she was. Wish I could say the same about breakfast the next morning. Immediately upon walking in we noticed a gal at the register intently on her phone. She didn’t move from this position a good ten minutes. She didn’t bother even looking up. There was only 4 tables. 2 of which were clearly done. Just about to leave. We were seated after a couple of minutes. When waitress came over I asked if we could order with drinks since we already knew what we wanted. She coldly stated she could only take our drink order since a couple had just been sat before us and we had to wait for them to order first. Wow, being I’ve worked as a waitress and customer service my entire life I was taken aback. Why not just take the order and put it in after the other couples? We would have never known the difference. Instead she was rude about it. After we got our coffee (with no cream) we had to flag her down and ask for creamer. She kind of rolled her eyes like it was an inconvenience. We got our creamer and eventually our order in. Didn’t get a refill on coffee or checked on until we were done eating. Upon getting our check she apologized and thanked us for our patience. We are normally very patient and understanding. She had 4 tables the entire time we were seated so I can’t understand why she was having such a hard time. Food was great, the room we stayed in was beautiful. We might be back but after the service we received probably not...
Read moreThe first call to the hotel I stated we were guest of the wedding occuring at the hotel the weekend of our stay. They said they would give us the discounted rate. I received the confirmation email and one of the dates had not been reserved , so we called back and straightened it out. A few weeks later the groom informs us we are not listed as having reservations under their guest. He called and they were to add us , we were not added however. We showed up the day of our check in and again this place tries to charge us the full rate. I caught it after they rang our card. So they issue a refund, not an issue except that was the 3rd time we had to have the conversation and it pretty much seemed as if at this point they were trying to pull a fast one well fast forward to today and I discover they charged our wrong card, sure we would have loved to pay with my debit but due to the pandemic and our lack of steady income it had to go on the credit card we have them. But alas they rang up my debit card instead. I pretty much had to fight for a receipt too. I am seriously worried and will be checking the credit card for double dipping. What an over the top hassle, if I didn't ay attention we would have been screwed.
And then there was the bed.... I don't think the mattress had been replaced since the lodge opened. Good thing I have a membership to the chiropractor because I will be needing it.
Finally, this place could have treated the area where the wedding was held ahead of time for mosquitos. Yes it's the mountain and the woods but there are nontoxic mosquito treatment for outdoors to aid in reduction of such pest.
Sure I am from Vegas and probably spoiled by our resorts here, but I grew up in the sticks, this place fails to compete with camping. I wish we simply had at the near by campground.
You could do better. They could do...
Read moreI hate to give it 2 stars since the last few times I’ve been have been 4 stars. We come every year for the past 6 years to snowmobile and stay the weekend at the lodge. We love snowmobiling and the indoor pool during the winter. This time it was unfortunately a bad experience. The rooms were dirty, and it was very understaffed. Every time we needed something, we couldn’t find anyone at the front desk or they were on the phone for a very long time helping someone. This time we accidentally left a very expensive coat there and I haven’t had any luck getting anyone to help me. I told them exactly where we left it and the man told me he couldn’t leave the front desk to go get it (ridiculous since they were never at the front desk when I was there) and that I’d have to wait for house keeping to get it. I asked if I could leave my name and number, he said no, I had to email them. Well, he gave me the wrong email I guess because those emails went unanswered. 2 months later still looking for coat and I called back to check. Finally a lady actually went to house keeping to see if she could find it and shocker, it wasn’t there. I told her about the unanswered emails and she said no one has access to the emails and that it was the wrong email address anyways. Seriously?! So upsetting knowing someone there has taken it as their own I’m sure thinking it was unclaimed. Thanks for all your help guys! NEVER LEAVE ANYTHING BECAUSE YOU WILL NEVER SEE IT AGAIN. I’ll update my review if I ever get the collectors Star Wars coat back that my son got from Disneyland. Also, would it kill ya to get nicer snowmobile helmets for kids? They are all scratched up. I suggest bring your own if you want to see...
