This is such a gorgeous restaurant! Unfortunately, we received the NASTIEST service. We had a reservation for what was essentially a "little old lady's tea date" and arrived with two adults and one 85 year old young lady. The hostess/server was rude when we walked in and seemed annoyed that we'd arrived to the empty restaurant. We followed her back to the patio. On the way, the hostess allowed the door to slam loudly in an 85 year old woman's face who then had difficulty opening the door to continue chasing the hostess to the table. Once we arrived, we mentioned that we had a reservation for a party on the patio and had requested black tablecloths on the table and there were no black tablecloths. The tablecloths weren't necessarily problematic at all, but the response of "Well I didn't know that" was less than impressive. She then proceeded to pitch menus across and around the table angrily. What we originally believed to be a lack of tact or manners proved to be outright malice and and a lack of professionalism as she continued to be rude to party members and behave angrily overall. Before we left, there was an attempt to speak to her privately about this behavior and just ask for a change. She walked away mid conversation to begin making drinks and when the owners contact information was requested, she waved a hand at the cash register and said "There should be a card up there". When an attempt was made to contact the owner, it rang directly to the restaurant and we reached the same employees that we had just dealt with. A second employee, understanding the situation and having witnessed some of this behavior, assured us that the remainder of the experience would be handled by a different employee or anyone else available. Again, this is a beautiful place. We had dealings that were pleasant and productive with other staff members. The other reviews indicate the food is wonderful. It is unfortunate that this individual is being allowed to provide such terrible experiences in such a nice restaurant. I wish there were words to do justice to how truly awful our experience was because of one singular employee.
UPDATE: JR's took immediate action to make this right. They have apologized and the second employee mentioned above took the table to ensure that the rest of the breakfast was pleasant and the members of the party were relieved from any further ill treatment. We are very pleased with the efforts taken to...
Read moreWe came here for the first time on Saturday. We've heard how good it is and we were excited to be able to come on such a busy weekend for us. We got there and the people were great! We did have to wait a little while to be seated but we're okay with that. I kind of think we may have had a new waitress because she wasn't very attentive. We don't normally ask for a lot but it took her a long time to get a refill on tea. We were mostly done with our food by then. My chicken tenders were tiny and they were very tough. And my husband's steak was also a little tough. I had ordered a salad with my food and probably didn't get it for 10 minutes after my food was delivered. I had a to-go order that i place at the beginning and then I asked her when we were about halfway done with their food if she could make sure and put it in so it would be done when we were ready to leave But we had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes after we were done with our food to get our order to go. I'm not sure if all this happened because it was prom weekend but it wasn't great for a first experience. We were pretty excited because our daughter and her husband and his family have been there a few times and it's always been great. We will go back...
Read moreNever got to eat there.....drove up today after checking the hours on their website....only to find a print out made sign taped to the front door that they had decided to close at 2pm today. Really looking forward to it, as we camp at the state park in Jacksboro often..and it looked like a place for us to try..Nice! (Not!)...I read your reply....and believe me, I sympathize......but if you are going to have a website that lists your hours.....then update them if you close unexpectedly. We planned our day around your posted hours of operation, and we drove there. We are all struggling with Covid right now....but that had nothing to do with not remembering to update your website.? So, yeah....if your site says...."we're open, come and dine with us", and then we try...only to find the chairs on the tables and the lights off with a homemade sign taped to the front door....then 1 star it is. My time and gasoline have value...
