This was our first trip to a KOA and I didn't know what to expect, but this definitely wasn't it.

I will say the staff was very friendly and accommodating, they even did a cook out for people at the park, but that's about all the good I can say.

There are some things that just can't be avoided with camping in Florida, but those were the least of the issues. This location is directly off of the highway (we could read our tent brand name getting off the highway to return) so if you're a light sleeper this place isn't for you. The heat is the heat.

We got to the tent camping section and the 4 tent camping lots are separated each by a 2 x 4 piece of wood. Literally Side By Side with zero privacy or separation. Not to mention when booking online, I looked at the map & I paid an extra $10 to be closer to the bathrooms in case the kids had a late night emergency. That $10 saved me maybe 15-20 yards of walking. Very deceiving map.

We thought the couple next to us were out partying all night and that's why they didn't return to their tent our 1st night. We learned.

The sites weren't maintained or treated much, if any at all. Tall bahia grass weeds, stinging nettles (I think. So bad we didn't bother walking barefoot). Ant mounds with fire ants or some other biting ants right at the camp table, ungodly hoards of mosquitoes and biting noseeums.

I've been camping at state parks for years and decided to try on a KOA to avoid our usual long drive. My advice is to check any (KOA) site before booking and verifying online pictures match...

Such friendly people here ( WHAT A JOKE ). This morning at 730ish got called out to tow a broken semi truck and trailer on the overpass exit 467 I-75 in Jennings fl. The semi was blocking the south bound lane of the bridge and 2 HSCO officers were directing traffic. So I pick up the truck get the brakes released and began looking for a safe place to finish getting the truck ready to be towed and turn around ( this exit is very desolate ). Wes came out of the office and immediately says it private property and I cannot be there. I tried to explain I only needed 10-15 minutes to finish and I was not blocking the driveway or entrance to the camping area. He said I still was not welcome. I again told him I would greatly appreciate 10-15 minutes because in the parking lot I would not have to worry about passing traffic hitting me, again he said I could find a place on the side of the road to work. After that I left the parking lot and parked halfway in the ditch, tires trying to sink into the soft ground, and finish my work with morning traffic whizzing by. Wes I hope you never break down on the side of the road, but if you do, I hope you enjoy every vehicle flying by within inches of you while they are on their cell phones. I will never step foot on any KOA campground for any reason again. Absolutely...

Well let's see lady's at check in where great! Got cabin inside was some what clean dusty on shelves. My grandson got stung by bees going out door of the cabin had to knock down hives.Kids feeding ducks maintenance guy seen no problem until they cut grass blew all over sitting area went got food came back still grass all over called office maintenance guy came out blew grass off then proceeded to tell my grandson pick up cheese puffs and don't feed 🦆 my opinion he was little butt hurt I called office. Weeds all under table sitting area guys that cut grass need lesson on how to cut they cut so low now dirt blew grass all over walking area. My suggestion is park golf cart and utility vehicles and walk maybe more maintenance get done all they did was drive back and forth all day can't park on grass but carts drove all over it .Have to buy there fire wood that doesn't burn at all .Let's see have to take trash out and put in dumpster you would think put out front in morning and maintenance would pick up. Mold all over porch area tripped in hole twisted my ankle at grill . Place isn't that big think wouldn't be to hard to maintain. My opinion lack of leadership won't be staying there every again KOA should be ashamed of place . Kingsland KOA amazing compared to this one. O and for 175...

We needed to find a place just for an overnight stop on our way to Disney and this was right off the highway about three hours from our final destination. It came highly recommended to me from other people that have used it for this same reason. My five star review is based on what this is, a quick overnight, not an extended stay vacation. The woman in the office was very friendly. We called because we weren’t going to make it there before the office was closed and she was friendly and helpful explaining what we should do upon arrival. We found that we had a site right in their lake which was nice. It was also a very level pull thru site which allowed us to keep the truck hooked up for the night which saved us time in the morning. It was a full hook up site. A bad storm rolled through overnight and dumped a ton of rain on us and there was some water pooling around the back of the site but not really that big of a deal. In the morning I ran into the office to buy some supplies I had forgotten and again the woman in there was very friendly and personable and I enjoyed talking to her. We would definitely stay there again on our way to the beach or Disney.

This place has improved a lot since staying here a few years ago. Daughter loved the old school playground. It still has a few areas that need improvement. Took one star away due to the fact that the upgraded patio site #52 was basically sitting on an interstate exit and you’re camping next to the fireworks stand. Could have easily improved the experience by having upgraded sites on the lake. Took one star away due to pool not being unlocked till 2pm and then being told that the heater was broken. Also, none of the balls in the activity rev hall had adequate air as all the balls were mostly deflated. Gazebo was pretty nasty, understandable that the ducks take refuge there but it could use a good power washing. Staff found time to take smoke breaks and it would have been great if they could take a few mins to give attention to items that improve the customer experience. This is mostly a KOA journey not a holiday. Staff need to pay closer attention to detail and the customer experiences.

The staff, Tammy and Dave,Bob and Kaloa, Duane and I can’t forget “Patty “get a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating. They did a great job considering what they were given to work with . We stayed at other Koa campgrounds on the way down, in my opinion this is not a Holiday it’s a Journey it has 52 sites for overnight this is the most of any I’ve seen. We made great friends loved the back half of the campground, much quieter. We knew going in it was going to be a-little noisy, traffic was incredible we heard 3 tires explode saw traffic stop because of an accident. We were in site 86 from November 1 until April 15. Not a bad park still needs a lot of work. The one thing I need to add is the reason it was a three star rating was because there was no support from the owners, and my wife and I have the same opinion there was obviously no support from the owners only criticism. Not what I would do to motivate people working for me!
