I found this lodge on the internet, lots of positive reviews. We arrived two hours before check in, and were told No you can’t be on the grounds and wait for your room. Zero hospitality. Poor social skills from the new owners, no eye contact or greeting when I tried to engage them about the lodge, they would continue weeding and walk away. Two days later I asked about fishing spots from someone who worked there he was puzzled why I didn’t call and leave a message for some one at the office to call me back to answer my question. If you’re paying well over a hundred dollars a day, it would seem to imply hospitality is a given. When I asked about getting the weak ac addressed ( it really wasn’t blowing cold air), Shelley picked up at the office and I explained it doesn’t work she replied “I’m not buying a new AC”. Actually a fan would have been nice, but she cut me off and said before I had a chance to ask for that she’d just refund me, which she said she would when we left. It was the first time I’d actually spoken with her, or anyone there about anything aside from asking about being on the grounds until 3 or the fishing spots. ||||The electrical systems in the units is a fire hazard because it’s outdated ( multiple plugs in outset’s and no GFCs) and there are extension cords from one unit to another, providing electrical, no smoke detectors. ||||The people who run the lodge are oddly hostile towards the public. Poor social skills and disengaged, I’d even say a little abusive towards their guests, if you ask for assistance they get condescending and act like it’s a...
Read moreThe grounds are beautiful (except for the plastic lawn furniture) BUT the Lighthouse room (#4) was just gross. The kitchen was original to the building and actually deterred is from using it. The porcelain sink was heavily stained, as were the odd panels around the stove to protect the walls. None of the windows had fully-functioning shades or blinds, including the bedroom, so blocking light to sleep was an issue. Mismatched, sheer curtains barely provided privacy. The bed was comfortable, but the bedroom was not. The radiator, while it worked, had parts falling out of it onto the floor. Opening the closet to look for extra blankets/pillows revealed all of the plumbing for the height print bathroom. When attempting to go to sleep at almost 11, I could hear the conversations occurring next door. The bathroom needed A LOT of TLC. The tiny shower had some serious mold and mildew issues and the pedestal sink didn’t help hide any of the unsightly pipes and patch jobs. And not that I expected a full selection of luxury bath products, but there wasn’t even handsoap in the bathroom. I did find 6 half-a-serving packets of “shampoo+conditioner” and eventually tracked down some Softsoap under the kitchen sink. The screen door to the patio/deck was hella rickety and had to be opened by bending down to slide the bottom along the track. Just next to the door was a wall unit AC, but the wall underneath was visibly...
Read moreFirst when we arrived it was raining quite hard And the office was closed! It was only about 530 and no one was around. We had to hunt for our rooms in the pouring rain. A sign posted outside the office with picture on it. After 10 minutes we finally found the room. There was no fire extinguisher or smoke detector!!! The pillows were horrible they were like these flat things and shams so you really didn’t have a pillow. The soap was so old it fell pieces. Did not even get to see the creek itself which I was so much looking forward to because there was a Rockwall blocking our view. There was no hairdryer and it was terribly hard to walk on all of the huge rocks in their driveway. If you’re handicapped and use a cane this is the worst place you could possibly stay.
I have to post a list of the rules. I was hoping to have my granddaughter that lives in Wendell come see me with her babies but reading the rules you cannot have any visitors at any time under any circumstances.
The charge of the room was $160 and that was with a 10% discount because we were both disabled veterans. We went to the Hampton Inn in Twin Falls next-door and it was only $100. I’m very sad to say my longing to stay at Billingsley creek will never happen again. Beware and beware. There were holes in the walls and you could tell it was...
