Only 5 stars? I give this place 10! I love that each spot is secluded and spread apart from other sites. Most are just a few feet from a bubbling, soothing mountain spring-fed creek. Distance between sites, the bubbling creek and density of the foliage (which is great if it rains) provides a buffer for sound. You're not going to hear other campers. I love that! Sites are flat and there is plenty of room at each one, along with a fire ring for campfires. They even have a grate so you can cook on top, along with a community smoker/grill at the camp store. Speaking of the camp store: it's adorable and you'll find anything you forgot, from aloe vera to toothpaste and there's even a Keurig. Sip your coffee on the wide front porch or play music under the shade of the back patio/porch. My kids played for HOURS at the pond, catching fish (catch and release) and frogs. There are nice, easy hiking trails. Another thing: there's no traffic, so you don't have to worry about kids darting in front of a car. They haul your gear up to your site for you. We enjoyed the wide open space where we could watch the dark, night sky. Our sites were Wood Fern and Solomon's Seal, a short walk up from the camp store and bath house (which was neat and clean, and that shower was lovely. Don't you hate washing dishes at the campsite? They have two sinks to accommodate at the bathhouse. It's so pretty, with a wide open view of the mountains. And quiet, so quiet. BUT the BEST part of all are the folks who run the place. They are like family and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. When I stupidly burned my finger on hot grease, Emily was johnny-on-the-spot with remedies. There's also a super nice B&B if you don't want to tent or hammock camp (yea, plenty of towering trees to accommodate hammocks). Can't say enough about this place. It's spoiled me as far as camping goes. I don't think I'll ever go back to a state park campground, where you're right on top of other people. Looking for a place to camp? This is your spot. We enjoyed a trip up to Roan Mountain, and there are plenty of other nearby spots. I can't say enough good things...

Read moreI usually don't write reviews but I rely on them heavily when deciding on a place to stay. Blackberry Blossom Inn's Rhododendron Suite deserves excellent reviews, and I don't know if I can even put it into words. Everything about our stay was better than we had imagined. As soon as we walked in, we were wishing we were staying more than three nights and we're already planning our next visit. We felt like we had found our home away from home, and plan to visit pretty regularly. The pictures for the Inn don't accurately represent the rooms. They are so much better than a picture can show. The attention to detail and cleanliness was better than I have ever seen. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The Inn is comfortable and spacious, and the views are fantastic. Both of the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was modern and clean. Everything you could need for a several night stay is included. The kitchenette included the dishes and utensils you would need to prepare light meals. If you're looking for a place to stay with a great view and not in the middle of any big cities- this is definitely the place to stay. I would recommend this suite to anyone and everyone. We can't wait to go back and we just...
