I'm giving 4 stars overall for how beautiful the campground was and very well maintained. The staff and other campers we met were very nice. We enjoyed the fact that we could bring our side by side. I also enjoyed feeding the ducks and geese. The fact that this campground is pet friendly is helpful to us, being that we have 3 house dogs. We will definitely visit again but will bring our camper next time. I gave the primitive cabin 1 star as far as the poor accommodations or lack of. The cabin was big enough for us but the beds were terrible and uncomfortable. You literally have to bring everything from home but the kitchen sink, even your own bedding. We were told by management that there was a port a potty near our cabin and that wasn't the case. The other primitive cabin had a port a potty right outside the door. Either way, it's not ideal and a hassle to have to drive to the shower house in the middle of the night to use the restroom. It's very inconvenient and there's no running water in the cabin. The cabin needs water and at least a port a potty outside. People are not going to pay to stay in a place where there is no running water or place to use the restroom. I wouldn't recommend staying in the primitive cabins for this reason. Im giving 2 stars on the service. The lady in the office couldn't answer basic questions. We also told her the remote control to our cabin TV was missing when we got there, and that we only had the remote to work the smart apps on theTV. She kept saying she would tell Brett about it and nothing was ever done. We tried to check out before 9 on Sunday. The sign on the door said open 8am-8pm. No one was in the office to check us out and the door was locked. We had to give our cabin key to a couple to turn in for us. I called the lady in the office when I got home to see if she received our cabin key. She stated she doesn't come in until 10am on Sunday. That time needs to be added to the hours of operation on the door, and there needs to be a drop box on site to leave keys when no one is available in the office to check out. We were told if no one was available the camp host could help us. Tried to contact them but they didn't answer their door. This is not a good set up for people who want to check out early. I'm giving the location 1 star because the restroom and bathhouse was so far away from our cabin. Making frequent trips in the middle of the night to use the restroom is a complete invonvience for guests. And what if someone were sick? I would not recommend staying in the primitive cabins as they are full of inconviences and cannot meet your...
Read moreArrow head is at most pretty quiet and peaceful Camp ground, ,Our over all stay was good.. Very nice lake with a nice walk trail around the lake , with a story book to read every so often.. That's different ... Billie and Jodi the hosts are very kind. and helpful. and the new born twins were adorable ..Our site was located F6.. the shade was 75%..Noon time the camper was heated well lol...Sites B are on lake side has a lot more better shade.. I'm only pulling a 35 ' trailer so maybe that's why we did not get put in a better shaded area.. The shower's were clean , the water temp was perfect. but the handi cap seating in women's shower definitely needs attention, The price paid for our 3 night stay was reasonable with the discount. We will return again in near future.. If I was to complain about the site is the full time trailer next to us had a small generator or air condition unit that Never shuts off, which was annoying ..and looked like a resale shop. A poor view. Our site was covered with cigarette butts,, that's the fault of other campers with no respect for the campsite. .. We left the site cleaner then we came in. .Other site were left with trash, again that's on the campers who visit...Last complaint was the mowers who mowed with in a foot of trailers. hoses and vehicles, even around my wife's chair she was sitting in.. 2 new rock dings I noticed in my frt. door of my truck. Mower's were fast and furious ,caution their . Again over all a nice RV camp site. with pretty views of lake and...
Read moreThis is a great place to stop for an over-night quick stay or weeks long stays. We stayed here for one night on our way from TN to WI, but liked it so much, we decided to come back and stay a week. The staff is really friendly, the store is well stocked and the restrooms are clean (with the small exception of the stains on the shower floors, which is unsightly, but doesn't appear to be anything that can be helped).
The lake is nice. There is a walking/biking trail all around the lake and across the dam area. There are baseball fields on the way to the campground and an amphitheater too. There were lots of ball games, mostly ladies softball, but no concerts.
There is also a huge pavilion for large gatherings/picnics. This is just a nice well rounded park. There is a great playground and lots of land for Frisbees and other run-around games. There is no swimming in the lake, but rowboats and such are welcome. Trolling motors only, I think. It was too cold for me to get out in my kayak though.
There are LOTS of ducks and geese (as well as squirrels and chipmunks) around on the property. They aren't afraid of the campers, so they come up into your site several times a day looking for bugs and such for breakfast and dinner. My cats were thoroughly...
