I’m only giving it 2 stars because of the great customer service. However, I was not comfortable at this establishment. This place is NOT worth $50 a night. I’ve had much cleaner and better hotels for $50 a night that makes them seem like 5 star hotels compared to what I was getting at the Economy Inn. At the Economy Inn, it’s only fair to charge $20-$25 a night due to what you get there and it not being renovated whatsoever. For $50 a night, I expect comfortability as the bare minimum. My car’s brakes had broken down and this motel was the closest thing for me to stay at until I can go to a mechanic the following morning. Upon my arrival, I was assigned a room that had a horrible stench of remaining cigarette smoke that you can smell as soon as the door opens. The bedding looked old and unappealing to want to sleep in. The walls were very dingy and dirty. The remaining furniture was quite feasible though. I called the desk and made a request for me to be switched from that room to another. The second room still had a cigarette smell but it wasn’t as bad and it was much easier to work with than the first one. The bedding looked 30% better than the first room but nothing you wanna crawl directly into when you first see it. The walls still looked like the first room’s. The only thing that was modern in the room was the TV. There was no microwave and the refrigerator was never plugged in and it smelled bad. I had to leave my room and go into the lobby to heat up my food. I shouldn’t have to do that. The shower curtain and tub had a strong smell. I didn’t bother to shower there which left me to wait until I was able to drive to my destination safely which was the following evening. The lock on the door did not look as secure and it don’t latch all the way in. I had to put the chain lock on and put a chair underneath the knob just to ensure I’m locked inside as secure as possible. I shouldn’t have to do that either.

We were here many years ago and the property is much improved on the outside! Quite beautiful, actually! The rooms are being renovated...New mattresses and very welcoming Owners (for your first visit)!! The room is spacious with fridge and microwave that doesn't cost extra, like the good ol' days! You can't beat the price, but bring a fly swatter...they're everywhere in the rooms, and cockroach bodies behind the beds. Please clean the place!!

Stayed 10/20/2022 Bed was sunk in middle, linens were old and tattered which is not a major thing. However when you turned on lights during the night or morning, the critters scattered quickly. Cockroaches in sink, on counter, on walls in bathroom and in the tub. When told desk clerk and owner at checkout owner said we take care of today with bug bomb. I got no apology of any type !

My experience at this hotel was a disaster! I recently worked at the Kankakee County Fair. I booked this hotel on Tuesday, July 28 because it's a five minute drive from the fairgrounds. I was called by Economy Inn Friday morning and asked to give my credit card number to hold the room. I gave them the credit card number and specifically told them I would be arriving very late on Friday. I arrived their very tired, after working a 13 hour day, to be told they had NO MORE ROOMS AVAILABLE! THEY HAD GIVEN MY ROOM AWAY!! All of the nearby motels were booked AND BECAUSE OF THEIR INCOMPETENCE I HAD TO SLEEP IN MY TRUCK! I returned to Economy Inn at 6:45am to catch the night clerk who knew of the horrible inconvience I was caused because of their error. I asked her if I could have a wash cloth and use their bathroom. They got a room ready for me by 8 am and charged me full pricefor it. By this time the owner shows up and does not offer an apology. He keeps saying they did not charge my card as if that was suppose to make up for their error. I told him I had to take a shower and get to work by 10am and closed the door. Upon arriving back to the room after 11pm there was a taped note from management on the television stating to come to the office to recieve half of my money back I had paid for the room. So I'm feeling a little better because I felt that was the very least they could do to compensate me for the inconvience they caused. I go to the office Sunday morning with the note to check out. The morning clerk reads the notes then calls the owner who tells her to give me only $15 back. I stated the note said half of the cost of the room. She stated atleast that's something back. I told her online reviews are a powerful tool when searching for a place to stay and I would put my experience with their...

It's a horrible hotel...first they questioned me like I was one of their prostitutes that they have there. Then the first room we had had a broken remote to the TV and bedbugs...we asked for another room and they said we can spray for bugs...we said no..we paid for 2 days...I left at 4 pm day time but could only get refunded for 1 day...Second time I went there 3 years later for 1 night thinking it might have improved...first 10 minutes I saw maybe 10 roaches went to sleep for 2 hours and there were 2 German roaches in the bed with me 4 on the wall and 1 across the TV screen...That hotel is just the nastiest place and then they question you about yourself to rent them dirty infested rooms. They need to be shut down .OH and they don't like giving REFUNDS EVEN IF YOU'VE BEEN THERE 20...
