Karnes City Lodge — Hotel in Karnes City

Amenities are decent. The hotel has a lot of potential, but needs better staff, manager, and attention to detail in the rooms. Room showed signs of wear and tear, stained carpet, mismatched paint, dirty AC vents in the bathroom, chipped paint on the walls.||||Our smoke detector was beeping and needed to have the battery replaced at ||10:00 pm, the maintenance shows up at 11:45 pm disconnects smoke detector and states he will return. I assumed that he would be back shortly. He did not return at all. We left the following day to see friends, came back and smoke detector still had not been replaced at 9:00 pm that night. WOW!! I called the front desk to ask about smoke detector and to inform them my Direct TV was not working in the bedroom. The same maintenance man from the night before showed up with my smoke detector and fixed TV problem.||||I asked the front desk person to call Management and let them know about my customer service experience As of today, no call from employee or hotel management.||Yet, I paid 226.00 for two nights in this place....

Nasty rooms I took pictures of the room the back of the toilet was glued back together, cob webs along the edge of the ceiling about half the room, behind the cook top surface was all kinds of splatters, "splash" type stains on the wall next to the bed on the bathroom door next to the shower, and the breakfast has one skillet to cook eggs in for everyone to use, the outside trash by the front door didnt get emptied was over flowing and trash placed beside it. When the glued crack on the toilet started leaving I called the office on the phone in the room and on my cell phone no one answered so went down to the desk and took 5 mins for them to come down. I dont recommend...

The hotel is an updated hotel that provides very large rooms at a quality price that is hard to compete with in Karnes County. We always stay here when we visit family. We choose the kitchenette with the two queen beds, which is great for kids as there are two tv's in the room. You can also bring a pet for an additional $10 a night, which is a great deal. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that there is some minor work that needs to be done in the rooms (e.g., tubs not draining properly, caulking around the AC is gone, some wet drywall that needs to be fixed, and the cheap very used towels need to be upgraded). Overall, you can't go wrong at this...
