It might be because I had such a terrible experience at the last hotel I stayed at earlier this month, but this is the little Inn that could. My room was spotless. It has all the comforts and necessities of home away from home: small fridge, microwave, full-length mirror, make-up mirror in the bathroom, complimentary brekkie which includes hot food. It's quiet! OMG. I don't hear my neighbors. There isn't the noise of outdoor traffic. There isn't some monstrosity of a heating/cooling unit in the room blowing away incessantly. The WiFi isn't molasses. Lots more amenities I haven't checked out. The service staff are lovely. The only SLIGHTLY bad experience I had was at the Alexandra tavern where my colleagues and I had to wait much too long for very simple food, but the waitress was so lovely, we didn't balk about it. Would stay here again and def recommend.

If you are hoping for a quiet, restful sleep, this is not the inn for you. The location has two large venues for weddings and other events. and has railroad tracks right next to it. The room we were placed in was right on top of one of these venues. The first night we experienced some noise from the music at the venue, but it was manageable. The second night was unbearable. We contacted the front desk, they were apologetic, and tried contacting the general manager about the noise, but to no avail. The front desk staff had no authority to quiet the music down after 11:00 PM. There are many other options for hotels if you’re visiting Longwood Gardens. The room was in need of maintenance.

We just had my son’s wedding at the main ballroom. I can’t express how extremely happy with our entire experience at the Mendenhall starting from their management to their fantastic staff. Zac who is the manager made us feel extremely welcomed and helped facilitated the entire wedding and our stay. All our guests loved the venue and for those who stayed at the hotel loved their rooms and the exceptional service. Thank Zach and your entire team, never felt well taken care of and making us feel like we are home. I will definitely come back and will tell the world of our experience with you guys.

A complete waste.

My husband and I for our one year anniversary booked a room. We dined at the restaurant which was fabulous. The food was delicious and the waiter was great. It goes down hill from there. As we walked out of the restaurant seemed like the weddings had gotten done. There was currently people screaming in the middle of the street either about to fight or just got done fighting. Our room unfortunately for us was right by the elevator and lobby. That same wedding group after the bar closed came to the lobby. Screaming. Riding the elevator up and down. Fine. I understand they're in the lobby sucks for us with our room. What was not okay was members of that wedding party screaming down the hallway in front of our door. Profanities. Banging on doors. At around 1:30 in the morning my husband picked up the phone to call the front desk. Before my husband said anything the man said he knows he was going to take care of it. Obviously was receiving other complaints. 30 minutes later it still had not stopped. My husband walked down there to talk to the man at the front desk. As he was doing so the receptionist screamed at the group to quiet down this man's room is right there and motioned to where our room was. Then a group of men from the wedding party circled around my husband getting up in his face. Pointing fingers in it. Screaming they were going to bash his head into the floor. One of them threw their card at the receptionist saying here just put their room on the wedding block. Screaming you don't know who we are. Mind you this is 2 3 in the morning. On our one year anniversary that we picked to spend at what we thought was a nice hotel. Surrounding my husband. Screaming. Threatening him. Once back in the room we then had to listen to them come up to the floor and scream where you at pu*sy. We didn't get to sleep til around 4 am. The next morning at checkout we asked for the manager. The manager said he had no idea what had happened. Which I do not believe for one second. He was at the restaurant when we left so obviously heard the scene there and I'm supposed to believe the elderly gentlemen working the desk didn't tell him anything? He was able to tell me that one of the weddings went to the hotel and straight to bed. Oh so what you're saying is the other wedding that was screaming in the parking lot then went to the bar and then came to the hotel. Guess the bar doesn't care how inebriated anyone is. $$$ Sure, he comped the room. That doesn't get back our time and ruin a night we won't get back. And he was dismissive that well we do 160 weddings a year and we don't have that type of clientele. Even though I can see from a prior review you do nothing when you do have that type. You had belligerent drunk hotel guests threatening my husband. Is it just a free for all because they spent money. I feel like the staff at a motel could've handled it better than this establishment did. Said in a year they would email us with a free upgrade as well. I highly doubt that will happen. I could tell the manager didn't care he just wanted us out of his face. Like as if we will ever EVER return to this...

Rooms are quaint, updated and clean. Location was convenient for wedding but oddly the reception hall is just far enough that in winter still need to drive to it as the driveway is a bit of a terrain to walk. The doors and walls are paper thin. We were literally talking through the wall to a relative staying in room next to us. Can hear every room Conversations in hallway. At 11;00 am on morning of wedding the coffee bar was out of coffee and sweetners. Only had decaf .. Was looking in the cabinet underneath when woman asked what I was doing. I requested coffee and was literally told “oh we must be out!!!” She did go to another room and brought me a cup indicating it was left over from breakfast???!!! Bizarre that a hotel is out of complimentary coffee for a weekend!!! Not even coffee in rooms! Moreover the front desk and apparently double dutying for reception hall manager woman was literally the RUdestt, miserable person, every person at the wedding was discussing how miserable she was. She also appeared not very professional as she looked like she just rolled out of bed, I had yet to encounter her until we (wedding parents/family) had rented a hospitality room for the day of wedding. We utilized the room for wedding party prep and for the hour span between ceremony and reception for family guests not staying at hotel to meet.. literally at the minute the room rental time was up at 5:00 this woman came in yelling for everyone to get out and not authorized to use this room. Explained paying parent of the bridal party and she said “no this is for the bridal party only everyone out now.” That is not what we were told when we rented the room for the day, it was mostly elderly relatives, (that didn’t want to pre-party at their bar/restaurant with younger crowd)and she literally stood there rushing us out to gather up belongings! Beyond embarrassing and completely unprofessional in how she treated guest! She was also rude to us and several other family at check in acting very put out by the wedding party and guests check ins.as rooms were not yet ready for majority of guests on a Friday afternoon. It’s a captive accommodations due to weddings and isolated location, and she seems to know it. However I would definitely not recommend this facility, Comparatively my daughter got married in bucks county a few months prior and the hotel we stayed at bent over backwards and was beyond accommodating to us! The comparative was stark!!!! They actually excelled in hospitality unlike the management at...

This is definitely not the Mendenhall Inn that you remember from post Covid. To quote the General Manager "If I had my way I would put booths in the back dining room. You see how packed Buckleys is."

Our experience started when I called to make a reservation and asked if they still had the lobster boil on the menu and was told they did as well as the surf and turf. We made a reservation for 4:45. Upon arrival we were greeted by the GM. I inquired if they were having live music once again in the lounge. The GM's retort was "No we have been closed for 14 months." Heading to our table in the formal dining room I am now pondering the freshness of our dinner.

We are seated and I am asked by the waiter if I would like a glass of wine...my choices for a what is portrayed as an upscale restaurant experience were Beringer merlot, Alamos malbec and Cline zinfadel by the glass. Though they did have Duckhorn by the bottle it was not offered by the glass. The wine list was representative of a middle to low end casual dining experience. I chose the lesser of the by the glass evils only to be served in the formal dining room a stemless patio glass. The disconnect thoughout the dinner was truly disappointing.

It came time to order and I remarked that I did not see the lobster boil on the menu and got a flat retort that they don't have it. I gently explained that having been in the industry that a better retort would be that "they have clams and lobster on the menu let me check with the chef and see what he can do". No our server didn't take the hint. We ordered salad and our entrées which were seafood scampi in white wine sauce which was very lack luster and a steak Oscar that was served without the ingredient of hollandaise. We had to get up and literally take a set of silver off the adjoining table as the place setting was not completed for the dinner service. Pepper was not on the table nor ever offered and some fresh cheese for the scampi may have given it some taste.

At no time were there more than 5 tables. There was 2 servers and the bread lady who offered the best service and demeanor of all the employees!

If they are truly desiring to be a casual dining like Buckleys as expressed by GM then perhaps rather than watch the cars parked outside Buckleys he should take a stroll inside to see how a properly trained staff and...
