I am renting here right now for the 4th of July. And just as stated above... People that are not staying here come over in golf carts and take over parking lots that are designated for the renters... But that's not the problem.... My father is in his late 70's and parks in the handicap... Due to the 8 golf carts and the truck that are not staying at the resort are blocking both handicap locations! The police had to come to remove the golf carts and give tickets to the illegally parked vehicles.. I was born and raised in South Florida and have been going to the keys for years! And for the amount of money we paid could have stayed in a much much better location! I will never stay here again and will tell everyone I know do the same... I am local so this word of mouth will be doing something about it! I don't ever write any reviews but this has been the worst experience ever staying in the keys and that is hard to say because I love the Florida keys! The only positive is the office manager who is very professional and polite and has been trying to accommodate and handled the situation to the best of his ability, but he is only an employee and his hands are tied.. Concerning the rooms, need to be remodeled asap... I would send pictures but I am embarrassed at the state they are in! It's like staying in a third world country! Update: had to check out on the 3rd day because water started coming from the wall located in the back of the kitchen .. all over the floor. Luckily we were able to find vacancy nearby and it's night and day difference! The only thing holding the place together is the very professional and polite front office Manager Yurek...! Good luck and beware! This place should have a rating of 1.
Response to the response: Frustrated, YES! Due to false advertisement and probably fake reviews! The place is run down and charges high-end prices! Rooms look like they are from a 3 world country. And I went to celebrate for the 4th especially that I am a veteran!!! And I know for fact the owner doesn't care about what anyone is celebrating, all he cares about is making money. I don't know which owner wrote the response.. one of the owners who is the one that lives there could have put a stop to everything because he was there. or the one that lives there... FYI... Read moreHello. I stayed at edgewater lodge for one night (monday 07/29/19). We stayed in the lobster room #9 and left next morning by 11 am.
We did not have a nice experience and I would like to take the time to share it with all of you.
While I waited for our room to be ready for us I walked around the property and read a bilingual sign that said no loud music at all times or something similar. Fifteen minutes later the front desk person gave me the key of the room and we had access to it. The room was clean, three beds, fridge, tv, etc. Perfect for a relaxing day in the keys.
We started unloading our staff and from inside of the small closet, that the room has, I heard the sound of the music coming from the outside of the unit. Minutes later I found out that other guest was playing music with a personal huge speaker in one of the bbq shelters by the pool.
My friend and I decided to go for a bicycle ride. The hotel has two adult bicycles and a kid one. One adult’s does not work. It has a problem in the crank/chain. So my seventeen year old friend had to ride the kid bicycle which is too small for a teenager. Rusty and old no prob but useless...
Came back after an hour ride and wanted to refresh ourselves in the pool but not only the pool was not clean, the temperature of the water was higher than the temperature outside. At this moment the speaker, that I talked about in the beginning, was unattended on one of the tables that the pool area has for the guest. The sound was loud one more time. No management presence but a woman wearing a blue t-shirt with a staff logo in its back was there ignoring the situation.
After about hour and a half we went for a walk along the US1 and sound of the speaker could be heard from the other side of the road. That loud the noise was.
We brought food to cook and eat in our stay in the hotel but the noise of this speaker never stopped at the point that we had to go elsewhere for dinner.
My friends and I could not enjoy our stay and time at the property for these avoidable issues.
I will ask for better management presence in the common areas and proper refund of my stay.

Read moreI have previously stayed in this hotel with my family. We usually all rent small rooms and spend the weekend there. We figured since we always just stay in one persons room, this time we would rent the townhouse together. When we first arrived the front desk staff was extremely rude and let us know that there couldn’t be more than 6 people. The townhouse has two rooms with 1 king bed and 1 sofa each. Plus a sofa bed room downstairs. There was plenty of space for more people. I showed them that online it says you can pay for additional guest ($15 per guest) and they told me in a nasty attitude to ignore anything the website says. We tried to reason with the staff and they were just closed off and unwilling to help us at all. I would understand if the hotel provided breakfast or some additional amenities but they don’t. We bring our own food so it’s like we are stealing anything from the hotel. The front desk staff even threaten us with calling the cops if they saw more than the 6 desk in our rental unit. We did see throughout the hotel that in other rooms with less beds there was an excessive amount of guest. So I guess the new policy only applies to certain people. These rooms were booked earlier this year and being 4th of July weekend, my family ended up having to rent in a very expensive hotel near by and when they came the next day to just hang out again the staff seems to be overly excited to target my family once again. They didn’t even allow them to stay with us. The staff in the edgelodge was completely disrespectful and unhelpful. This was the last time I will stay there. They need to re-train their staff on how to politely talk to their guest and they need to update their website if they are under new management.
