I didn't enjoy my stay unfortunately. We booked this trip literally the day reservations opened up for the hotel, we were so excited, it was a trip of a lifetime for us. I understand that the hotel didn't cause the water issue, the entire fresh water system for the property went down about 4 a.m., but I wish it had been handled better, or that the property had some sort of contingency in place in case of something like this. To be told at 8 am that we had to vacate the property, with no alternative hotel suggestions, or assistance, and not being able to flush a toilet when 3 adults are in a 2 bedroom suite is completely unacceptable. I was handed 6 ten ounce bottles of water. That was useless to us. I don't know why non potable water wasn't offered, or at least a couple of 5 gallon jugs of water, so we could flush toilets. To set up 4 port-a-potties in a giant national Park was disgusting, unsanitary, and again, unacceptable. Thank God, after driving across the state in the dark, we were able to find a hotel. The only parts of our trip that we enjoyed were the boat rides. I implore you to have a plan if something like this happens again, it was truly a horrifying and incredibly disappointing experience. Our trip of a lifetime ended up being a major disappointment. We received a refund for our second night because the hotel evacuated us, but not even a partial refund for our first day, of which 6 hours were unused and unusable. Again, we would have felt a little better had we not spent over $400 per night, been in the middle of nowhere, and if the hotel had offered to help us find a place to stay. Unfortunately, we were on our own. The room was attractive, the views good, but we didn't get to experience any trails or hiking, since we...

If you want to avoid driving back and forth while fishing the Everglades this is the most comfortable option.
You have AC, nice bed, full bathroom , full kitchen , fridge , microwave , even a dish washer.
You do have limited room to park your boat but there is no outlet to plug it in.
Your vehicle can be parked underneath but not the boat.
It does cost a little bit more than your normal hotel ($250-400/night) but you have to consider the location which is right on the water overlooking Florida Bay.
The store is open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 pm at night. Also the non-ethanol gas is $6.55 per gallon. Probably a good idea to bring extra gas.
The restaurant is not open but they did provide me a $20 certificate for the store.
There is a community grill outside to cook fish and steaks. Bring your own charcoal.
Overall a good experience with great friendly service.
Note: Careful, The fire alarm inside is very sensitive. If it goes off like mine did at 4:30 in the morning and no one is there is to help you even by dialing the emergency number.
It is connected to a network so they know you have disconnected it so once you do that you will be fined without a warning instantly.
I just disconnected the alarm because everyone was banging on my door asking me to turn it off as it was waking them up.
By the time I got back from fishing three rangers showed up my door serving me a $180 ticket for tampering with the property. I offer to put it back but it was too late for all that. Even though I explained the situation they would have none of it.
Besides that, is a very nice and quiet stay if you want to have an extended fishing in Everglades without driving...

Just returned from a fabulous stay at the newly opened Flamingo Lodge in Everglades National Park, and it was an absolute delight! The innovative design using repurposed shipping containers is both eco-friendly and stylish, providing a unique and comfortable lodging experience.
Our one-bedroom unit was spotless and well-equipped, featuring a kitchenette with all the essentials—perfect for preparing simple meals. The spacious bathroom and cozy living area made it feel like a home away from home. The private balcony offered stunning views of Florida Bay, making morning coffees and evening sunsets truly special.
The on-site restaurant exceeded our expectations with its delicious offerings. We particularly enjoyed the blackened mahi-mahi sandwich and the fresh smoothies. The full-service bar was a great place to unwind after a day of exploring the park.
The location is unbeatable for nature enthusiasts. We took advantage of the nearby kayaking opportunities and were thrilled to spot manatees and a variety of bird species right from the marina. The proximity to the visitor center and guided ranger programs enriched our understanding and appreciation of the Everglades ecosystem.
A couple of minor notes: the rooms are elevated and accessible via stairs, which might be a consideration for those with mobility issues. Additionally, while the Wi-Fi was adequate for basic needs, streaming services were a bit slow—not that we missed TV with such natural beauty around us!
Overall, Flamingo Lodge offers a unique and immersive experience in the heart of the Everglades. We highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore this remarkable national park while enjoying...
