We stayed at Camptel September 30-Oct. 3, 2022. We happened upon something “different” to experience as they have glamping cargo containers and Tiny homes amongst the more popular options. We stayed in a large container. The camp is still under construction and growing so keep that in mind. We immensely enjoyed our time there that we are returning in November as they are open year round and most, if not all, have heat and A/C.

Everything is in easy walking distance at the camp – the gym which is in a container and includes a 2 person sauna, water, towels, bike, treadmill, ball, and free weights (open 24 hours); 2 Horseshoe pits and a Bocce ball area located near the front of the property (we greatly enjoyed playing this as everything is supplied); Paintball in a container called “Splat” – you make your appointment with the front desk and they’ll meet you at the container to unlock it and load the paintball guns where you then can aim and pummel targets with paintballs; 2 hot tubs in small size containers (we did not try these); a common area stringed with lights, a wood fire pit, rocking chairs, giant chess board, corn hole and outdoor heater as well; bar/restaurant. The restaurant is still being staffed in order to be open in the future. There is currently no camp store so bring all your food with you!

Camptel borders a nearby park for hiking trails and in warmer months there are lots of local activities to do. Let me start by saying the staff is phenomenal because they are friendly, helpful, and go above and beyond. You’ll get to know them by name if you take the time to speak with them.

The drinks at the bar were not outrageously expensive in my opinion. Rose, Jessica, David and the rest of the Camptel staff helped and came to anyone’s aid that needed it. 😊 The container we stayed in was so nice with a propane fire pit, gas grill, picnic table, Adirondack checks, etc. Linens are supplied but one thing they absolutely need to do is have a set inventory list for each container / Tiny home. It was a bit haphazard, so for instance we had 4 plates, 4 bowls, 4 coffee cups but no utensils. They could supply plastic utensils but if you are cooking steak, that’s not going to work well. We had a small dishwasher in our container but no dishwashing tablets? There is a single sink for washing dishes but no dish drying rack. The kicker was when my husband turned to me for the night we were going to eat Busch’s baked beans – he held up the can and said, do you see an issue with this? It didn’t immediately come to me but there was NO can opener to open the can! We bought a can opener and gifted it to the container for future users. Until there is an inventory list, you may want to just assume it is NOT a stocked kitchen and bring your own stuff.

You don’t have to worry about linens or toilet paper – you’ll be okay in that arena. There was a hair dryer in our container but again, I don’t know if this is consistent among all of the facilities. When we needed more towels or trash bags, we just asked the staff and they were more than happy to drop it off. The paint ball container has limited targets so it would be nice to have a LOT more targets available for pure enjoyment. It may also be helpful to have game rules at the horseshoe, bocce ball, and cornhole games for those who are new or need a refresher on the rules. The TVs are not consistent in their channel availability, and one really is not there to watch TV but when we figured out how to get on Prime to watch a movie it could not run because the TV was not updated with the latest software to run it. That was a bummer on a rainy day. Again, small growing pains as they expand and get established.

I cannot say enough of good things about the staff at this place. They are all very friendly and hardworking. If you are respectful of them and engage them in conversation, you will receive the same treatment in kind. I encourage people to give this place a try as something new and different to experience. Enjoy and I wish you all well in...

I took my dog-like-kitty on a weekend getaway and went glamping for our first time ever at Camptel Poconos Glamping Resort! To say we had the best trip is an understatement...everything was beyond perfect! All of the staff was super friendly, the whole atmosphere felt so safe for just a female alone with her cat, the food at Gotham Fireside Grille was superb and their staff was all also great, and most of all Taz (my kitty) loved the view from inside but even more loved spending so much time outside! Beyond stoked to have stumbled across this gem and so thankful they allow cats! Can't wait to book our next getaway here! Highly recommend visiting if you get a chance!! Had no issues whatsoever. The A/C was on before I got there so it was nice and cool as I unloaded everything and settled in on a hot summer afternoon. The Wi-Fi (if needed) works super well. (I could legit get snowed in in the winter and work from here!) I ran out of propane the one night for my fire pit but spoke with the staff and that was taken care of immediately. The staff isn’t always in the office area, so when checking in the door may be locked. There’s a sign taped to the door saying if no one is available to call the phone number listed. I’ve seen a lot of people talk bad about that, but most never read the sign or called the number! When I called, the woman answered immediately, was super friendly, said she’s be right over in about 2 minutes, and 2 minutes later came walking up and checkin was a breeze! It’s a glampsite, not a hotel so the staff is usually walking from the office to a unit on one side, all the way to another area, and back. Be patient and enjoy the feeling of relaxation of where you’re at and the memories you’ll be making. It's open all year round (can't wait to come here in the winter)! The TVs are Smart TVs so if you have any accounts with streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc) all you have to do is login. Even if you don't have any streaming accounts, the Smart TVs (Roku) have a gazillion (clearly exaggerating but also not exaggerating) live TV channels as well! Each home has its own fire pit area but there's plenty of community areas as well (fire pit, life-size chess, cornhole, bocci ball, etc). They have numerous hot tubs, saunas and gyms (if that's your thing), and plenty of outdoor areas to just enjoy nature! Location is great, just a few minutes from Hickory Run State Park, plus so much more in that area. Even after checking out I spoke with so many awesome staff members via social media accounts (Facebook & Instagram) and everyone is so attentive and friendly, and so welcoming of Taz and myself! Can't WAIT...

STAY AWAY. I was here for a solo 2 night trip and paid for The Pinstripe cabin. Once I brought my bags in and was ready to head out, I realized the AC unit was off, giving an error. I was late to where I had be because I had to stay in the cabin for 30 mins waiting for them to come by. They reset it, worked for 3 mins and it died again. I was put in another cabin 25 mins after that, which was half the size of the one I booked prompting me to check the prices. Sure enough, the replacement cabin was listed as $120 cheaper than what I paid for and this was not mentioned to me. I called and asked if I could be refunded and the owner told me Expedia will handle it. I contacted Expedia, who said they were not given notice of the cabin switch and l'd have to enter a request dispute - 4 days later Expedia told me Camptel REFUSED the refund request. Red flag #24 of my stay, they lie. Now they will not pick up the phone or return any of my phone calls. When I returned later that night I realized my bed wasn't even finished yet, with nothing but a bottom sheet on it. Not even a top sheet. By this time, no one was available to call. Thank GOD I had an emergency blanket in the car, because I would've had to sleep with the bath towels. The blinds did not close all the way, forcing me to change/shower with the lights off and a dimmed flash light because as a solo female it was uncomfortable knowing anyone from the street or other cabins could see into my cabin. Long black hairs in the shower/toilet, crumbs/stains on the sink and the outside of my cabin smelling like dead animal were just the smaller things. It was also directly along the street, whereas my other cabin was further in away from the traffic noise. For the cherry on top, I figured I'd give their Sunday brunch a try. I waited 40 minutes for brick hard French toast my fork wouldn't go through and a raw omelette. I didn't realize the middle of the omelette was even raw until I ate half of it, thinking it was melted cheese. Thankfully the waitress took it off my tab.

The only good thing this place has going for them is the whole set up idea. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. This place has new management as of April and clearly A LOT of kinks to work out, in the...

Cool experience staying in tiny 2 bed, loft house. Check-in was easy, drop box had our key with info on property and we checked out via text message and dropping key in box, never actually interacted with any staff the whole stay! Tiny House itself was great and had mostly everything we needed; comfortable beds, smart Roku TV with fast internet and streaming, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker (2 coffees included), outside seating with propane fire pit ($30 for propane tank), plenty of towels for bathroom, portable heaters and split aircon unit. The bathroom was small but had a standup shower, full-sized toilet and sink. The kitchen had paper towels and spare rolls under sink but only came with a few paper plates, paper bowls, plastic forks, paper coffee cups, tongs and a spatula so definitely bring your own supplies. There was no stove or hot plate, just a microwave and charcoal grill outside. The coffee maker only came with 2 packets of coffee, I brought instant coffee and just used the hot water from the coffee maker. There are plenty of outlets, including next to the beds and most of them contained USB ports. There is no daily housekeeping service and you must bring your trash to the dumpster upon departure. The houses are about 20-30 yards apart from each other and spread out over the property. There were 3 hot tubs but one was out of service. The gym was actually very nice and there was a sauna, although we didn't use any of the amenities. The restaurant on property was closed the first day we were there and they were short staffed on the second day so wouldn't take us so we never got to try it. There aren't a ton of restaurants nearby but there are plenty of pizza places! I would stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Great location and idea but terrible up keep and response to issues. We booked a 2 night stay with my two toddlers. The first night we discovered the shower was broken and water got everywhere. After the kids were asleep, I went outside to sit by the propane fire, that too was broken and would not start. There was ants on the walls of the main bedroom. Staff also forgot to check us in, and texted after we were asleep a code for discounted food, we had already ordered two burgers, fries and 2 pieces of cake which cost 70 dollars. The next morning we brought the concerns to staff and was promised a new/fixed fire place and asked to talk to the kitchen staff for some money back. Neither of these things happened. Also, it was raining so we decided to eat as a family inside. When my husband pulled the metal chair off the wall, it was broken and rusted in the spot so you could tell it’s been broke. For awhile. That night, it was raining inside our bedroom from the window. There was an outlit right under it where our phones were plugged. I called the number on the wall and it was out of service. Needless to say, we got rained on that night. Upon check out, my husband went to voice our concerns and no owners/management was on site but the maintenance men were inside the office. They informed my husband that they knew the windows were leaking but had not been fixed yet. We did reach out to management after we left, we asked them to call us via email and we informed the maintenance crew we would like a return call.Overall, I am disappointed as, if I wanted to experience all these issues I would have slept in a tent and not went Glamping. The idea is there, but original campers could be up kept instead of adding new ones.

What a great find! We love camping, but this “glamping” experience was a nice change. They have lots of different style rooms, some with lofts and some with rooftop patios. Our room was spacious, similar to a regular camper. Plenty of room for 2 adults and our 2 young boys. The full bathroom was stocked with clean towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner. The queen bed was very comfortable, and the couch made a decent bed for the kids, but could have used more blankets. I’m glad we actually brought some anyway. We had a little kitchenette with a full fridge and freezer, microwave, sink, small countertop, and little table with 2 chairs. They had a few paper plates and bowls and plastic utensils. Definitely need to bring your own cooking and eating supplies. Outdoors was great, with a gas fire pit with 3 Adirondack chairs, small grill, and picnic table with umbrella. Lots of trees shaded the whole campground. The extra amenities were awesome!! They have 3 boxes with hot tubs, a dart house, a gym with sauna, 2 steam saunas, and a huge field with lots of fun activities such as soccer, badminton, cornhole, and horse shoes. There is a community fire pit by the field as well. We didn’t visit the restaurant, but there is one on site. We really enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back next time we’re in the area.
