First I want to start by saying the staff was very friendly. This would be the third time I have stayed at this inn, but the first time post Covid.||The pub is a fun place to relax after a long day on the trail or for whatever brought you to Vermont.||We booked a room that was dog friendly, as this was the first time we were traveling with our little sidekick.||Please note, I have an extensive history in public safety and post retirement a decade in hospitality safety, so I know what I am talking about.||Upon arrival, we checked in around 1700 on 9 October 2022. The room was musty smelling, the bed and furniture old and uncomfortable. The cleanness of certain areas of the suite were questionable. In addition, although sold as a fire place suite, it appeared to be an electric fireplace with no clear way to turn on. The worst parts of the room were how dark it was and overly warm with no way to get decent ventilation. ||From a safety point of view we turned on one lamp and it sparked from a frayed wire, which we quickly unplugged. In addition, there was old wiring, not sure if it was an old fire alarm system stapled to the ceiling.||Finally, the room had hard keys, not computer fobs. with the room number on the tag. This is against all safety standards in this day and age, as it allows a bad person to view room numbers or if a key is lost to enter that room. It is also very prevalent for bad actors to copy have obtained copies of these keys. Also note there was no safety locking bar to keep the occupants protected in the room from unauthorized access as they slept.||My wife and I went to dinner in Killington and both decided that we didn’t want to stay there. We were extremely disappointed.||We returned to check out, after only being there for 2-hours for a three day stay.||The young lady was extremely nice, but what upset me was she made no offer to at least reimburse me one or two of the nights that I had booked.||The reality is I wouldn’t recommend the Inn at the Long Trail to...

Read morei recently moved to vermont in the killington area. i have driven by the inn at long trail several times and the look and feel of it is very beautiful and enticing visually. many of the locals have recommended it for the food and bar as one of their favorites. so on st.pattys i thought i would give it a try. i was told they have a great rueben and an amazing bar. i decided to just do a take out order, when i called my order in i asked what specials they were running for the festivties the man who answered gave a groan as annoyed he had to read them off to me and then quickly placed me on hold to find out what they even were. when he came back on the line he very quickly read them off and i asked to place a take out order. he groaned again and placed me on hold yet again. and a few minutes llater a woman came on the phone and i was greated with a "what do you want"!!! seriously this was so rude and out of line but i gave the benifit of the doubt casue it must a mad house for stpattys so i asked to order a reuben dinner for 2 and was told at 430 in the afternoon that they had stopped serving them earlier in the day. now maybe im not a vermonter and from the "big city" but who the hell doest serve a rueben on stpattys is beyond me. i will never step foot in their facility which is a shame considering as i was looking up their menu online and planning a romantic night for my spouse and me in their lodge in the up coming months oh well i guess killington resort will be getting our...
