Very close to the crater lake national park, only about 30 minutes away. It was an awesome find. Very nice, cozy and comfortable. The interior decor is very warm, welcoming, tasteful, organized, and clean. There is a fireplace which added nice warm character to the vintage and rustic look of the interior. There is a river that runs behind the property, a stroll next to which is recommended. There are fire pits that guests are welcome to use we didn't. The parking area is covered which I suppose is useful in the snowy winter. Comes with free hot breakfast, they make it in front of you for you. There's no wifi but they have a large DVD collection to keep you busy. If you have Verizon then you are covered though. The hosts were very nice and friendly. They kept the office open for a little longer than usual when they recurved my call requesting for a night stay. We had a really nice chat. The couple have had a colorful past with varied experiences and expertise and skills, you would be amazed to hear their stories if you stop by at the front office and spend some time chitchatting with them. Definitely get the mocha, they make it really really well. Aside from being a nice coffee place the front office also serves as a organic grocery store. Absolutely loved this place, and will definitely be back for the experience!

Great hospitality during check in, the hosts are super accommodating and friendly, they made us feel very comfortable right away. The selection of organic groceries is simply astounding! The cabins are immaculately CLEAN and super cute, just a little dated and we felt that only added to the charm. As other reviews stated, the bed is VERY firm. Important to note a couple things we didn't know ahead of time: only a microwave for cooking during the summer and no campfires allowed, sandwiches available, but only until 6. There is AC, a window unit that works well for cooling and a fan to increase airflow. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND, especially on short notice trip planning like ours when the lodge is booked for a year in advance.

This was the perfect location to visit Crater Lake. Our room was incredibly clean and cozy and the owners couldn't have been any sweeter. Their organic market provided the snacks, drinks and dinners we needed for this getaway. They even ground some coffee for us to enjoy in the morning! Make sure you take a look at their hours and rules. As they mention, the location has no Wi-Fi and is definitely in a small, isolated town. My only criticism is that the pillows in the room could use an upgrade, but it didn't take away from our experience here. Make sure to check out Wood River right behind their motel, it's a great place to unwind after a day of hiking. Jo's Motel rules!

We stopped here after a very long driving hoping for a comfy hotel room. We had been staying in various hotel rooms for the past couple of days for spring vacation and while I know small hotels aren't fancy I'm usually impressed with the owners and customer service.

Let me say we were incredibly disappointing here. The owner’s wife was odd and not very friendly, she just made you feel uncomfortable. I had hoped to order a meal since they advertise having food, but they only had a few breakfast items to order, and no ham the only think that looked good. After spending almost $90 on a tiny room (with no phone or TV) and a few extremely overpriced microwaveable organic food items we went to our room.

While the room was nice and clean it was tiny. The covered carport was nice. Then I sat on the bed or I should say futon mattress! No box springs just a mattress. I went right back to the front desk and the owner's wife told me sorry all the beds were "standard hotel beds". I'm sorry we have had “standard hotel beds” for the past 4 nights and this was far below standard. After going back to the room I tried to just get over it but after a few min. I realized there was no way I was spending $70 for a bed I couldn't even sleep in.

We loaded up the few things we brought in and I went back to the office to talk to the owner. She was very rude and acted like she didn't even know how to do a refund. She’s part owner for goodness sake and she can’t do a simple refund? I was very polite and said I understood, but there was no way I could sleep on that bed. I told her the only thing we had used was the microwave to heat up my daughters mac & cheese we bought at her store! She said she was sure we used the bathroom which we had not, nothing was touched. She said it didn't matter and that her husband would still have to clean the room. I told her it was spotless but she wouldn't even go look at it despite it being right next door. First she said she would have to charge me $5 which I was fine with, then when she handed me the money it was short $15. Really?! Please do not waste your time stopping here. That woman was just rude and money is the only thing that matters, not customer service. I was as nice as I could be and we spent over $15 in her store. I am a total neat freak, when I say it was clean, it was all clean. She could have even checked the room and charged me the $5 and I would have been fine. But rudeness and dishonesty is not OK in my book. As I drove off I just had to think was that extra $10 worth a negative review? We ended up at the Edgewater in Shady Cove. Very clean and comfy, big rooms, TV, phone, hot tubs, and internet all for less money! I was mad at myself for not checking the room first but lesson learned. No stars should...

I have never written a review but if I can help just one person to never have to experience the horror I had to experience from these people at this place then taking the time to do this will be time we'll spent. I am an elderly, white haired, VW driving woman traveling alone from Washington and I was traveling to southern Oregon to attend my family reunion. I somehow got confused with the GPS directions and I ended up lost. I was low on gas, my phone was in constant roaming mode so I was losing the power faster than I could make it. It was 104 degrees outside and I have Lupus and the heat was making me feel awful. I parked and saw the welcome sign sandwich board and I entered and Jo was at the front counter and I asked if he could please help me. I explained I was lost, short on gas, my phone was dead. I asked if I could please have a drink of water and a little power, that I was meeting family. Without warning Jo erupted told me he would not give me power, he would not give me gas and he would not give me water. I asked please and explained I was ill. I offered to pay and he just came from around the counter and chased me out backward waiving his finger in my face. I sat at the picnic table and try to calm down and collect my thoughts and notice an electrical socket the socket was covered in wasps but I carefully plugged in. approximately 2 min later Jo flew open the door and was screaming at me to unplug my phone, he was literally in my face, he yanked my phone cord out then proceeded to wave the angry bees in my direction. Jo yelled he was going to call the police, for I was on private property and he was going to have me arrested. I asked him kindly, wirh shaken voice to please contact police because I honstly needed help. Another couple drove up and had watched what taking place and escorted me to a place down the road a place I believed called Alpine inn who helped me emencely. I am a nearly 50 year old Christian woman and I gave no reason for that man to treat me poorly.I do not recommend this place for anyone for anything. Please do not let your children see his behavior. this is a serious setback for...

Bad stop for bicyclists! My wife and I (62 years old) stopped here on a bike trip from Rocky Point to refill water bottles and check out the food possibilities for future rides (we were carrying our lunch as we couldn't tell from their web site what they had). The owner refused to fill our water bottles stating that there was some law that forbid it (we've never run into this before), but said we could try the bathroom sink, which we did and it worked just barely. We perused the store but did not buy anything and went outside to sit on one of several empty picnic tables near the road. A minute later he and his wife came out came out yelling and screaming at us to get off his private property that he was not running a public park, complaining about our using the bathroom and generally being very rude. I don't think I'd been yelled at like that since I was a little kid. The owner's really don't seem to understand and shouldn't be in the hospitality business. If they had been nice, we probably would have been back in the future and spent money there and recommended it to friends. By chance we arrived at the store with a long-distance touring bicyclist who was out of food and looking forward to spending a couple hours there restocking supplies, charging his electronics, and relaxing for a bit before proceeding to Crater Lake. We had ridden a few miles into town with him and he seemed like a nice guy. Not sure what happened, but he went into the store came out and promptly departed up the road. Suspect the owner said something that really upset him. Probably told him he could not charge his electronics. A full charge of a phone might cost a fraction of a penny. I'd guess the cyclist might have spent $30-50 on supplies if the owner had been friendly...
