Booked on app at $75. Was charged almost $200. Hotel appears to have intentionally misled me and over charged me, and refused to cooperate with any negotiations once they got my money-the resolution had to be reached with wyndham separately from the hotel and once I raised an issue I was bullied until well past dark by the family. I never complained, asked for anything, or disrespected them or their property in any way.
Wyndham app advertised about $75 which included $64 nightly rate and $11 taxes and fees. Front desk staff were unhelpful, rude and indicated their computer was down. I smiled, sat and waited while they helped others (on the computer). Found my reservation, repeated my room selection back to me before pretending to place payment on my reservation. What actually happened though, is they cancelled my reservation and made up a new one with prices that they preferred I pay without my knowlege or consent. When confronted about the issue, they immediately escalated- rudely told me I accepted the early check in fee (which as a diamond rewards member- is supposed to be a free perk anyway but I did verbally agree to pay $40 to check in early) but that still didnt even come close to explaining the total I was charged. Ultimately, they blamed the nearly 3X surprise price increase on taxes and fees, shouting at me when I explained that taxes and fees were $11 for a total of $75. Faced with the facts they wouldnt budge and seemed to think it was quite funny.
Member services were contacted and explained that I had made 2 reservations-this is how we realized the billing surplus creation had occurred. Actually, no I had not made 2 bookings. As I checked in, another booking was created by the front desk-identical to mine in every aspect except price which was almost tripled. My bookings prices were read aloud to me, and then when they ran my card they switched over to their reservation. Member services spent hours on the line with the hotel who flat out refused to budge an inch. This is what they were charging and I could get over myself and deal with it. They wanted it so they are entitled to it i guess.
Ultimately after a few days, I raised the issue to escalations and the surplus charges of $105 were refunded. This is so ridiculously childish and unprofessional. The entitlement was laughable. Once I realized that they were literally stealing from me, I was on the phone with member services for hours-and they sent their family members to walk back and forth by my room with music blaring, shouting profanity, running leaf blowers under my door and just harassing me like toddlers for the rest of the night. I never once complained, asked for anything, shot a dirty look, or even so much as frowned in front of staff and I was met with endless hatred and abuse I had not earned.
So... They were very rude... they created a scheme and tried to rob me... To get them to honor the legal transaction we agreed on required hours of customer care phone calls, and days for refund...when called on their actions, they tried to bully me into submission and make my stay as miserable as possible... Congratulations, you definitely surpassed all expectations and I have never been more determined to never give any of you people my business ever again. What goes on between those ears to justify what you do is something that is beyond and below me. This experience has become the new normal for wyndham brands across the board and it honestly reminds me of like, facebook marketplace. Thats the quality of business ethics we are now dealing with....
Read moreI wish I could rate employees rather than the entire establishment, but here we go. We had originally booked at this hotel through Hotwire. I called the day before to ask a question about the room, but the gentleman who picked up was more involved in talking to someone else about something in his private life before addressing me. When he did finally acknowledge me he was short, rude, and talked over me when I tried to ask for more detail from the answer he did give me. When he ended the call the only said "okay" and hung up. I only kept the reservation because I couldnt find any other hotels with availability on short notice. When we arrived it was late, the gentleman at the front desk was very much exhausted but still greeted us and promptly started checking us in. Another guest had come in looking for vending, which the gentlemen behind the desk politely pointed him in the right direction but made a comment about the guest when he left. He gave us our room keys and pointed us to the side of the hotel we would be staying on. We tried to move my car to a well lit area on the side our room was on, but the parking lot on that side was very steep with no streetlights or enough parking. We ended up parking on the other side, which had more lights, and hiking to our room. When we opened the door, we saw that our room was already occupied. Stuff was laying everywhere and someone was using the bathroom. We returned to the front desk and told the gentlemen who checked us in. He rubbed his face in frustration and told us he had no other rooms. We thanked him, returned the key cards, and asked about a refund, which he said we would be happy to refund but need to talk to Hotwire about it. We thanked him and started out the lobby when he called us back and said that he worked at another hotel and would see if he could get us a room over there. The entire time he was looking, we talked and he said he was going to force them to take us no matter what. When he was done he told us the hotel name and where to go and wished us a good night. We werent happy with the quality of the Days Inn hotel, but the fact that the gentleman at the front desk (Tim was his name I believe) went above to get us another room at another hotel despite how tired he appeared was wonderful. We appreciate...
Read moreThe late night checkin staff were very helpful and wonderful. They made sure I got the exact room type and location I requested.
However, the woman “in charge” of the continental breakfast bar basically shamed me in front of the entire lobby for taking a small ziploc bag of cereal back to my room because she thought it was worth two bowls of cereal. It was 845 and I was trying to hurry and rush out of the way so I didn’t take up her time because she had already started cleaning up. All I grabbed out of the options was a small ziploc bag of dry cereal, made a plain waffle and grabbed some butter and a cup to fill up with some water from the water fountain. I did not have any juice or biscuits and gravy or eggs or bagel or pasty or milk or fruit. I did not touch anything but the cereal and made one waffle. The attendant in charge of the breakfast bar still felt it was necessary to ask how many people were in my room because I had “two bowls worth” of cereal. It is only me in my room but there is no price difference in a room with breakfast for 2 adults vs 1 adult. I said “well I paid for the room and free breakfast and I’m not touching anything else” she just got real wide eyed and said a long drawn out “mmmokaayyy” like I had no business taking the cereal. If I sat there and ate two bowls of cereal in front of her, I wonder if she would have been bothered so much. I didn’t say anything more to her, made my waffle and took my small ziploc bag of dry cereal back to the room. The person attending the lobby behind the counter said nothing as well.
This is the only review I have ever felt ridiculous writing but this was not ok and never should have happened. If I was taking two massive plates of food, piled up with every food option they had then she said something, I would be more understanding, but this was completely uncalled for.
Anyway, comfy beds, nice room, great late night staff but the breakfast attendant could use some improvement. If you only want people to have a certain amount of each food, you should have it prearranged that way.
