The Bank Hotel Lake Arthur — Hotel in Lake Arthur

This is our 3rd or 4th stay here. Unique modern conversion of a Bank in a delightful small town on a long natural lake. The area is crammed with marsh & swamp wildlife & is near large conservation sites in the fresh & salt marshes. Large live oaks & bald cypress cover ridges along bayous. There are two wonderful restaurants in the neighborhood, with several others a short drive. This oasis is less that 15” from IH10, b/t Houston & New Orleans. A large lakeside park is very near, a 3” walk. There isn’t a lot of excitement here, but weekends have live Cajun or Zydeco bands at the nearby park. Bring your boat; a small marina with canal access to the chain of lakes is less than 3 blocks from the hotel. A very nice over-water bistro is 2 blocks. We love this for a “get-away”, or a nice refreshing pit-stop during...

While this hotel is a little out of the way via the highway it was still a great place to stay and dog friendly!! We picked this town to stay in on our road trip because our dogs name is Arty (Lake Arthur is this towns name) this hotel was a hidden gem with cute themed rooms. While it didn’t have all the amenities (full breakfast) it had snacks and coffee/water etc for guests to take as they pleased and the only downfall was there is no elevator. I would 10/10 fully recommend people staying at this hotel! It’s also within walking distance to the lake. Or a very short drive if you’d want to go that route as...
