I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Forrester Hyatt, and I can confidently say it was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew I was in for something special, and much of that was thanks to the incredible hospitality provided by Nick and Suzie. Nick greeted me with warmth and enthusiasm, setting the tone for my stay. He ensured that I was comfortably settled into a beautiful room that felt like a home away from home. As someone who doesn't stay in hotels often, I was pleasantly surprised by how welcome and valued I felt right from the start. His attention to detail did not go unnoticed, and it made all the difference. What truly blew me away was the level of service I received. Shortly after checking in, I received a thoughtful text checking on my experienceâan incredibly accommodating gesture that I have never before encountered. It demonstrated a level of care and commitment to guest satisfaction that is rare to find in the hospitality industry. Later in the evening, I made my way down to the bar and met Suzie, who absolutely made my night. Not only did she craft an incredible martini, but her warm and friendly demeanor made me feel instantly at ease. I loved that she reminded me I could take my drink back to my room, which was exactly what I did after a long day of work. This stay felt like a genuine retreat, allowing me to unwind and enjoy some much-needed respite. The staff's attention and hospitality transformed what could have been just another work trip into a rejuvenating experience. I wholeheartedly recommend the Forrester Hyatt to anyone looking for a getaway or even just a night away from home. The service, particularly from Nick and Suzie, was beyond extraordinaryâ12/10 would not do it justice! Book your stay; you wonât regret it. Thank you, Forrester Hyatt, for a truly...
Read moreStayed here so we could easily take UP-N Metra to Ravinia. It's a lovely newer hotel. Clean, comfortable, and dog friendly, with impeccable service. It's located right off the Tri-state Tollway. This Hyatt includes a bar and restaurant that serves all meal times, from breakfast into late night (10p). Bar is open until midnight on weekends. We had drinks, the margherita flatbread, lattes, and dessert--all were good. There's a nice patio area and plenty of grassy dog-walking spots surrounding, along with free parking. It's a beautiful, safe area.
Be aware that Lake Forest has two Metra stations, but only one whisks you right to the Ravinia main gate in under 15 minutes (FREE with your Ravinia ticket). While the "downtown" area looks to be charming, we were surprised how everything was closed on a Friday evening. Apparently, Lake Forest becomes a ghost town after dark, even on weekends. We had to drive 10 minutes west of the hotel to Vernon Hills for "excitement."
Besides cleanliness and pet-friendly, the next most important thing for our lodging must-haves is friendly and attentive service. The Forester excels at all of these. Special shout-out to Jackie who made my wife's birthday getaway extra special! And our pup appreciated the treats from the night front desk ladies. đŸđ
As a member of all the main hotel loyalty programs, I must say Hyatt seems to be the most consistent across all its properties in terms of quality locations. All the others can be very hit or miss. Marriott & Hilton especially have many rundown locations. And redeeming points for free nights has become outrageously out of reach, including at a number of less than desirable hotels . We used points for this Hyatt Forester stay and it was a real bargain. We won't hesitate to...
Read moreWe payed the extra money to stay in the King Suite with the kitchen, as we were attending a Navy graduation & wanted to have a Kitchen, etc. to avoid going out much. The room & service were both horrible. From the time we got there until we left. Upon entering the room, you could tell it hadn't been used in quite some time, as there was a layer of dust on everything, even the bathroom sink handles were dirty. The refrigerator had greasy finger prints all over the stainless steel, which showed it was never cleaned inbetween guests. Even the extra blanket looked to be used, as it wasn't even folded & the pillow had stains on it. We also had a small coffee maker with no coffee & no condiment packages. There were no trash bags in the entire room, not even the bathroom garbage. We also had no towels, hand soaps, or anything at all. You would think these items would be available for cleanliness. Nothing for the kitchen at all either. The ice bucket was dirty & never cleaned between use. I am just so disappointed. We drove 9 hours before arriving to a room that was dirty & had nothing in it. We called to the front desk multiple times & requested items that never came. We couldn't even shower in the morning, because there were no towels. We called down & none were brought in time for us to get ready to leave. This was our first trip in 2 years & I've never been one to write reviews, but this experience was just horrific. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. For nearly $300 a night, I would have rather slept in my...
