Oak Hammock Resort was a beautiful campground. For the most part clean. While we were there they had to put in a water gauge, they gave us mere minutes before they turned off the water so we were unable to shower and go about our day. If you need to do something like that ok, but give customers a bit more of a chance to deal with no water or whatever the āinconvenienceā might be.Then later in our stay they had sewer issues, he tried blaming it on us just to find out both blockage areas were due to root growth. We went without sewer for a whole day or more. When we left a week early from our stay they would not refund us even partially for the time we would not be there, even after all the issues that were quite the inconvenience. If youāre not planning on using water or sewer itās a great little place to stay!
In response to ownerās reply - they were semi transparent, just because it was just outside our camper does not mean we knew what was going on.
Also, there was no need to ask about us flushing paper products as they already knew the first blockage was roots.
I will repeat because I do not want to be misleading - While the water and sewer issues were an unforeseen and unfortunate ordeal we believe the owners could have done something to over shadow the issues in the end. BUT! The campground was beautiful and clean. The owners...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is a hidden gem!! Fairly small place but tons to do and the owners are beyond friendly. The lake is gorgeous and there were multiple places to sit and overlook the water (wooden swings, hammocks, patio on backside of clubhouse, benches by water, and docks). The cabins all face a grassy common area where there is a communal fire ring. Game room is also right by the cabins and during day they set out corn hole and ladder golf. There is also horseshoe pits by lake. We went for Halloween weekend and although they didn't advertise any events on website or Facebook, they organized hay rides around the property which included a visit to resident donkeys, a safe trick or treating window for the kids (glad I brought candy!) and that night they hosted a s'mores bonfire by the lake. Best part of this whole thing?! They are extremely dog friendly! We stayed in cabin with our puppy and owners were very accommodating. Cabin had kitchen with cooking utensils, pots & pans, plates, etc and a standard coffee maker and filters in the cabinet. Whole cabin was very clean and there was a window a/c unit in each room! One note: not all the cabins are stand alone, some share a wall with another cabin rental so I felt bad for people next to us when...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOak Hammock Resort has a variety of "stay" experiences from which to choose--an RV park provides parking with hook-ups, or cabins. We rented several cabins for family because we had a Sunday wedding at Bella Cosa. We rented 7 cabins for Friday and Saturday nights and kept some through Monday--each cabin was unique and clean with kitchens or the smallest with smaller stove/fridge. Each cabin had a coffee maker and microwave, with utensils and pots and pans. We held our big meals in The Lake House, and after a casual rehearsal on the lawn (killer view of Lake Pierce), we toasted our bride and groom in the comfort of A/C. We had 28 people in a circle inside the Lake House Cabin. It was a special event, and everyone enjoyed being together in such a fun atmosphere. The teens enjoyed the game room, the adults hung out on the deck. Cheryl and Bobby Hamm brought fire wood for s'mores firepit, delivered the ice bags we purchased--anything we needed, they were there for us. We will definitely be back to this resort to gather, and if you have a wedding at Bella Cosa, consider staying at this family-run resort--some of the cabins could sleep ! We were able to enjoy the family without being at a...
