The place is okay. It's affordable, and close to Legoland. There is a ton of road construction going on right in that area which makes it rather treacherous to get in and out of the hotel lot. The hotel itself is fairly old. They have done some upgrades that I did like. The main plus was NO CARPET IN THE ROOMS! That is huge for my family with our allergies. The main minus was that the room was not well cleaned. There were cobwebs all over the light fixtures, dirt in the corners, poorly done patchwork, and the curtain was too long in the window which became problematic since it covered the vent of the AC unit. I also must mention that the Wi-Fi is useless there. They need to add some major signal boosters. The booking site states that continental breakfast was included, but at the time of our visit, the front office was locked and only a walk up window was available, so no breakfast. On the upside, we asked for extra blankets, towels, and even pillows, and the staff obliged without argument, so that helped my family's stay be much more comfortable. There was no safe in the room, and no sign to put on the door to request no turnover service, so if that is something that concerns you, you may want to consider having a backup space for securing any valuables. The pool was tiny and somewhat run down, so we didn't bother with it. The beds were firm but somewhat comfortable. I've slept on far worse mattresses. All in all, it was mediocre. Oh, and the Mexican "restaurant" next door is a complete joke, do not eat there. On the other side of the overpass is a barbecue restaurant that is REALLY...
Read moreWhat a royal experience! As I walked into the door, I was so pleasantly surprised. The decor was eye-catching, warm, organized and welcoming. The person at the front desk, Bobbie, is a PERFECT fit to be the public face of the hotel. He greeted me with a smile, very welcoming all while he was conducting business on the phone. I did not have to wait long. His professionalism and strong interpersonal skills are IMPRESSIVE. Bobbie made sure I received the BEST price for the room. Sharp, kind and has manners!! Bravo to Bobbie he's 5 đ ! The room's layout is very pleasing and has everything we need for a comfortable and enjoyable no fuss 4 day stay. I found NO TRACE of roaches. However, I did find old cobwebs attached from the ceiling to the curtains. That didn't phase me at all. Just an overlook from housekeeping. Overall, the Royale Inn of Lake Wales is ROYAL and I highly suggest to stay there compared to the other hotels. I was so delighted to have the Royale Inn experience. Full disclosure, we compared prices with Holiday Inn and other like hotel's which priced over $300 more for what we paid at Royale Inn. Boom Pow!! Thank...
Read moreI appreciate affordable sleeping accommodations. We had a 2 night stay at Roadway Inn-Lake Wales. It was affordable, comfortable, and convenient. |The furnishings were upgraded/like new. Fresh paint. More than enough outlets and charging station options. The bed lamps have built in cord receptors and plug outlets. The room was extremely clean. The bathroom is updated with nice marble tiles in the shower. The bed was extremely clean comfortable. Very comfortable! Linens were white and clean. The appliances all worked well. The freezer in the mini fridge keep our frozen water bottles frozen, which was surprising. Staff was accommodating and available. It was immaculate. The price is right! I donât like paying high prices for a good nightâs sleep, a shower, and appliances/amenities for a room where most of our time is spent in the community ||We did not use the pool but saw other families in it. It looked clean and maintained. ||Cons for me would be:|- Traffic noise from the road (which is not able to be controlled)|- Carpeting in the living area ||I would stay again and...
