I started out great at Barona Casino as the tier match so I didn’t have to start at the bottom! Unfortunately that only last 2 months as they review your play and if ou can’t keep up with there top card then you are dropped down one level! Eventually I earned my spot again and was dishing out a 1000 a week easily and eventually after 1 yr had lost over 50,000! The next year I began to question there free play standards as I had now been a diamond card holder for 2 yrs and lost over 100,000$ and was only getting 250$ a month free play on my offers and this 250$ was the same amount for 2 yrs when other casinos look at how much you send every quarter then it goes up or down from there! I made the mistake of asking about this and eventually complaining to my Host who eventually started leaving notes on my account each were causing me more grief and finally was black balled and asked to leave for 90 days because after spending a lot of money one day just to have entries in their lotto game I was denied an extended stay from my regular room not a suite like viejas gives to there infinity players but a regular room after spending 1500 in 8 hrs! The host who turned it to be a manager said they were all booked ! My friend at hotel front desk said verified that this was not true and I asked the hotel to file a complaint against the person for discrimination! Long story short 5 hrs later and 500$ lost the night manager finds me and asks me to leave the casino excluding me for 90 days for no reason explained to me and I asked security to lease get the person away from me because I had never scene or met this person before and now after knowing them for 5 mins I’m excluded for 90 days! After 90 days I called to see when I could come bk and was blown away when they put a security guard on the ph who said I was banned for good now! One hung I forgot to mention was that the manager gave me an ultimatum this person said A or B which A was 90 days or B was for good so I had no choice but to take option A!
So after leaving for 90 days they now said I refused to leave which was not true because why did I leave then with no escort and I even got to cash my ticket first! Then it was tha I refused o sign the paper which again was not true because the paper was in my hands as I walked it the door by myself I did throw the paper in the trash on my way out and was not happy but that’s what happens at Barona if you complain about your 250 a month free play which they don’t even give you that in one shot you are forced to come bk on the 1st and 15 th if you want your 250 which is 125 on the first etc! Smh 100,000$ plus and there was no welcome home in my future as they held my Diamond status over my head and by all means don’t ever think your word has any pull over a sovereign nation who does not have your back! You’re welcome for my donation! The only thing I miss from Barona Casino is the golf course and the good friends I made who work at the hotel, casino, golf course and especially the room service Men and Women and he chef who bust there ass day after day and sometimes do not get a tip from dumb ass people like me wh sent there last dime that day gambling then feel pathetic as they have to apologize to the room service person as they were screwed out of there tip! I always tried to make it up the next visit but unfortunately there will never be...
Read moreI love Barona! The ranch/farm style casino sits on some of the most lush land there is in the county!! I enjoy taking in the scenery almost as much as I love the service, amenities, and of course the fun they offer! I can't give 5 stars, because I don't agree with some changes they've made since they reopened after the COVID-19 pandemic.. in fact I have quit playing with my players card altogether as a result. No more fun bites! What?! Whoever's idea that was, that was a bad call in my eyes. But, then again, who am I? Seems like as soon as I quit playing with my card, suddenly the hosts I was on a first name basis with had no idea who I was anymore. And that was awkward for some time, like "oh, no I'm not raising my hand to say hi or anything.. I'm only about to run my fingers thru my hair" kind of awkward, hehe! Now they are the "home of the VIPs" and so if not platinum or diamond (top 2 of 4 tiers) one is just the low man on the totem pole (yes, I did!) And there's nothing low key about this. In the main parking lot a huge sign saying"Home of the VIPs" is plastered to the side of the 4 level parking structure. There's the Diamond Lot that sits above the main lot, then there's the VIP parking level in the structure too. But even that's fine with me. What I especially don't like is while playing, the "Party People" come out in parade fashion bumping loud music and with like 5 people "whoo-hooing" and making a big deal out of surprising a VIP card holder with games, prizes, and money. It used to be awesome hearing all the commotion, cuz everyone had the possibility of getting lucky. Now, it's more so uncomfortable and kind of discouraging, like a slap in the face! Some may even say this is discrimination, and I could not argue the claim. Ok, now, all that aside.. it's still one of my favorite casino's to visit! They may not remember you but they still do exhibit kindness, knowledge or who knows what they don't, and professionalism. Actually customer service shines as it has always. Rant over, check it out for yourself! They have a huge koi pond and even a wedding chapel on site. It's been a while since being in a room but I'm sure they're still nice. Idk if they still offer golfing but when they did, that was fun and quite an...
Read more“Beware” Unacceptable Experience at Sage Café - Costly Damage and Lack of Accountability
I recently dined at Sage Café inside Barona Casino, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of a disaster. What was supposed to be a simple, enjoyable meal turned into a highly costly ordeal, both financially and in terms of the utter disregard for customer care and responsibility.
While eating a salad I ordered, I bit into what I expected to be a pitted olive, only to realize—too late—that it wasn’t fully pitted. This seemingly minor error resulted in a broken crown, causing extensive dental damage that required $2,600 worth of repairs. Not only was this incredibly painful, but the aftermath was made far worse by Barona Casino’s complete refusal to accept responsibility.
Because Barona Casino is located on Indian reservation land, they are not subject to the same rules and regulations as businesses operating outside the reservation. This means they cannot be held accountable in regular Superior Court, and instead, they essentially make up their own rules. The inability to seek proper legal recourse in a court system most of us rely on is absolutely unacceptable and leaves customers like me with no reasonable means of compensation or justice.
This kind of behavior—serving potentially dangerous food and then hiding behind reservation status—is not just bad business practice; it’s irresponsible and unethical. It’s outrageous that a well-known establishment like Barona Casino would allow this to happen without offering any form of compensation or solution.
I want to strongly warn anyone considering dining at Sage Café to be cautious. The lack of accountability and disregard for their patrons’ well-being speaks volumes about their priorities. I believe the public deserves to know how they handle issues like this, which can have severe physical and financial consequences for their customers.
It’s hard to trust a business that creates its own regulations to avoid facing consequences for their negligence. This type of behavior will undoubtedly damage their reputation,...
