You would think the people taking reservations would understand the need for flat ground for tent campers. Nope, slept on a slope. (That’s my spot circled) Other than that, there is a family of raccoons, at least 6, and they are not afraid. They even peek in the windows of our tent. Scared the heck out of the kids. They have to do something about them. And the workers start their days with their noisy 4-wheelers at 6:30AM. (When are the quiet hours???)

This campsite has won me back to the possibility of camping. The spots were well manicured, and the amenities were well kept. The workers were painting the enclosures while we were there. The beach was beautiful. The only problems we found were the bugs. We were eaten alive by mosquitoes and flies. Otherwise, it was a very peaceful place.

The campground was very nice and there seemed to be a pretty good variety of open campsites, wooded ones, ones with electric hookups, and really secluded backpack sites. Each site had a fire pit and picnic table, too. Fall camping here was a bit cool, but the maples were just gorgeous yellow!

My friend and I biked to the campground from Minneapolis to use the new bikers' campsite. The trail connection is a great way to get here, and the biking campsite was great. Water and restrooms are right next to the bike site (water fountains only; a spigot would have been very nice). Room for several more people and good amenities at the site. Some very small tree stumps remain from being cleared to create the campsite and could be a tripping/puncturing hazard. Firewood is sold but not secured, so make sure you have a good way to get it back to your site. Great way to get out of the city for a...

Campground is well kept - grass cut short, gravel graded, pit toilets kept stocked with toilet paper & hand sanitizer. Sites are spaced out and relatively flat. Recycling and composting is encouraged, with large containers available for you to do so. Downsides - located off a busy highway, resulting in lots of road noise invading the “peaceful” setting. Also, on site office is only open Thursday through Sunday, which means, if you stay during the week, some of the services aren’t readily available (ex. kayaks and canoes can only be rented on the weekends). Dogs not allowed...

This place is great! We've been here twice. Once in a regular campsite and most recently at one of the "bike-in" sites. Both were well kept and clean. The amenities in terms of beach access, playground and hiking trails are plentiful. I loved the "bike-in sites". Easily accessable from the Three Rivers trail system with many signs leading the way, the sites had a fire ring, build in hammock poles, a bike rack, trash cans and a food locker. The bathrooms were only a few feet away as well. The bike sites are non-reservable so you just show up, pay the fee and...
