This was a charming tranquil place tucked away in the trees-- perfect for social distancing. The maintenance man took immaculate care of the pool and was out there every day to make sure all the little tree bits and pieces were out of there! My fiance and I stayed in the Lavender suite which had plenty of space, had a great patio area, and a super comfortable bed! They could provide a few more breakfast options but it IS advertised as continental breakfast- which typically includes breakfast pastries/fruit&fruit juice/yogurt and coffee&tea-- all of which were provided (we looked forward to the coffee cake every day; yum!) Hopefully helpful feedback: these are definitely older rooms which could potentially bother someone with allergies (think grandma's house with updates and broken up into multiple separate and/or detached spaces). After picking up a hepa filter/air purifier we were golden-- we just kept it running in the room the whole time! if y'all provided them in the rooms for the guests I think it would be a really nice touch! some of the curtains seemed a little old/dusty but don't get me wrong- the place was definitely clean! Some of them were lace and just seemed a little musty from age? Maybe a little update on window treatments? Definitely not a deal breaker, would just be a nice little improvement while also helping people with allergies! some of the trees could be trimmed back a little (mostly to help out that hard working maintenance man! I still can't believe how clean it was considering all the trees that were branching out over the pool!) poolside lounging cushions could use replacing. Def some decent wear and tear. All of these things were pretty minor (with the need for air purifier being our main thing) Overall.. we had such a lovely week here and would definitely come back to this quaint B&B again! Read moreThe place looks quite nice, but when I arrived I had no idea where to go to "check in". I had no idea which room was mine, and had to call to get information. Once in the room, my wife found a gigantic spider just above the entryway. It was only a daddy-long-legs, so we paid it no mind - still it was the absolute largest one I've ever seen. Soon after getting to the bedroom, my wife began sneezing and her eye became bloodshot. We left the Casa del Sol to grab some dinner. 30 minutes after being away from the room, all of her symptoms subsided. After returning to the room, once again she had a sneezing fit, and we chose to go to sleep immediately before she got worse. In the morning she woke up with a really sore throat and sounded like she was a lifetime smoker (she's never had one EVER). Furthermore, we started noticing an alarming number of additional spiders around the room. Needless to say, we left the place immediately that morning. I don't expressly blame Casa del Sol for this, my wife has severe dust and pet allergies - so perhaps one of the previous guests had a cat or a dog in the room. Maybe there was just dust in the air vents. Either way, as nice as the place is, it just wasn't compatible with us. The owner called after we left when her housekeeper discovered that our bags were no longer in the room. Explained that nobody had ever reported similar problems in the past - like I said, room just didn't work well for me...
Read moreThis was a beyond perfect, unforgettable hotel experience. It is set high up in the hills of the Lakeway area of Austin. You are surrounded by greenery and mountains. It feels like you are in Costa Rica! There are incredible views of Lake Travis from the white cloud suite. The location is also perfect for seeing all of the Austin area. You are halfway between downtown Austin and the western part where you can go to Driftwood and Dripping springs where all of the breweries and distilleries are.
The breakfast they provide is perfect. Yogurt, fruit, granola, everything is high quality, organic. Sleep number bed in the room was so comfy. Room temp was always perfect and customizable. Turn down service every night. The pool area is such an exceptional bonus. So many thoughtful touches around the property. I could go on and on. The owners should be very proud of what they have created here and I am so grateful for all of the hard work they must have put into making this place a one of a kind experience for anyone who is lucky enough to stay here. Thank you...
